Anyone else a ZNAPS USB-C connector backer? - Nexus 6P Accessories

I have a feeling I might be one of the few that actually went with this option, but when I backed them, I ended up switching to the USB-C connector they added. Figured I would go for it based off all the Nexus/USB-C rumors, future-proof it. I'm just a little bummed I will have to wait till March at the earliest for it =(.

Yes sir I'm a backer. 2 USB micro and 1 USB c I'm waiting for. Looking forward to it. If they meet their deadlines I'll be surprised

I am, but currently its just the micro usb one. Im about to order the usb c version since i just pre-ordered the 6P.

I backed and it and bought 3 of the Micro usb and 3 Type-C ones. I haven't heard anything since placing my order a while ago.

They literally just sent an email after I posted

You say March is when you have to wait... am I missing something? I just pre-ordered a few of the Type-C ones off of their site and it says they'll ship in January.
Anyway, thanks for this thread because I originally backed the KS but cancelled because I didn't want to risk wasting the $$ for a few months of use with the Micro-USB before Type-C started to come out, and I completely forgot about these!

Those are pretty cool, might order me some

Hmm...just checked the kickstarter page again, it's definitely a march shipping date for usb-c, not sure where you're getting January from. No problem though =).

I had backed them, then dropped out because I don't believe this product will function well / as advertised, and I think it'll end up being crap.
But when / if I'm proven wrong, I'll pick one up

I doubt these will support 3A charging

They will.
I backed, bought 2 full sets of micro USB and 2 of the USB C type. I can use the micros as breakaways for my xbox one controllers.

according to them it doesn't inhibit speed/power as it is just a pass-through. we will see though. they said its compatible with QC2.0 but who knows about 3.0

Man, i hope so...realistic is April-May though.

I'm a backer too, bought 4 sets of micro usb, before I thought about getting the Nexus. Just added some USB-C, not sure when they'll ship.

I'm a backer too from the kick starter. I ordered 1 micro USB and 2 type C connectors.
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

Let's hope they at least deliver the micro USB ones on time because I need one for my Shield I'm using 'need' loosely here but I knwo the Type-C ones will take forever...

Hope they come soon. My Oneplus just ate through my 6 foot anker cable. Only lasted like 3 months.
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk

i ordered usb-c and mini ones. They claim they work with QC 2.0 so decent chance the will work with nexus quick charge. We will see.

This product looks amazing, really hoping it works as well as advertised, and if so going to be buying quite a few. Probably going to Preorder a usb-c one tonight although I'm guessing it probably won't ship until end of 1Q 2016.

TYLT VU Wireless charger - looks promising

or as the author of the article points out: The first thing at CES I actually want, now.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...vu-a-wireless-qi-charger-that-actually-works/
Information on the website is also scarce with only a Coming Soon badge at the top of the product page. (http://www.tylt.com/vu/)
Couldn't agree more... This one really looks great, and no risk of slipping from it i'd say...
I don't understand why there aren't more Wireless chargers available, not to mention the google one, the technology isn't that new...
Yup, looks good. I'm hesitant to pick up anything until Google releases the orb, or at least I see the orb in action. But I like the look of this one.

I already have an Energizer which was going to tide me over until the official Orb was released.
I'd snatch up that TYLT one in April if it wasn't so pricey... For $70 I'll just wait for the Orb.
No thanks.

I really doubt the orb will be a reality. The Q was canned and never returned. LG can barely keep up with demand and is now rumored to have stopped Nexus 4 production completely. You can't even get a bumper for the device. I really highly doubt that the orb will happen. If you do any searches regarding it, most of the results are "where is the orb?" and many are posted prior to Christmas (it was announced by Google in October, and like I mentioned about the Q, it isn't the first time Google got people excited about something that didn't pan out). So I hate to rain on the parade but I highly doubt it will happen. Even then it may release and be plagued with issues. I saw the CES review on Android Police and the VU seems to be a great device. Not awkward or a pain to charge, just drop the device anywhere on the pad and good to go!
I wonder what they mean by "Output Current 5 Watts" on their product site. 5A? Noo

Motorola TurboPower 15 Charger alternative?

Hi Gurus,
Just wondering if there are some alternative chargers for the upcoming Moto X Style?
The official charger is about 25 quid, do I have to use the official charger to get the same charging performance?
Thinking about buying a wall charger like this, http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00P2GW7MG/?tag=ho01f-21
Would it work for Moto X Style?
Well no because the Charger for the best speeds is actually TurboPower 25.
And that hasnt been released yet in the UK and it would be stupid if it doesnt. I recon they will have a discount price on pre order release day thats my guess anyhow.

Thanks, didn't realise that at all.
Maybe that's why moto is delaying the UK launch as the charges are not ready.
So I guess I'll have to buy an extra so I can do fast charge both at home and work.

Btw what you linked is just a surge protecter? It would do nothing but waste £15 lol
I think I did a bad job of explaining. If you want the superfast speeds Motorola claim that can be achieved (0-34% in 15mins) then you will need their Turbo25 charger. But you can still charge it fast (probs 0-26% in 15minutes) via a Qualcomm 2.0 Quick Charger such as this ...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Qualcomm-Ce...1441404838&sr=8-5&keywords=aukey+quick+charge
Yeah I'm going to buy two aswell one for home and one for work, however at the minute I'm waiting to see what Motorola do. Worse case I will use the standard one that ships with it for a while and then maybe just buy the item I linked (Qualcomm 2.0 quick charger). Would be able to buy two of them for less than the price of the TurboCharge 25 would be my guess.
Takes the biscuit that we in the UK wont get a Turbo25 charger in the box
Hopefully that explains it a bit better lol.
So the "15" chargers that were up as a suggested additional purchase aren't even the right ones? Poop

Yep... I bought it at $16.99 on Thursday (11/5) and it never shipped out to me. Today I got an email saying they are on "backorder". Over the weekend they were "Out of stock" until December. Now today all the cables are magically in stock at both 6m and newer 1ft varieties all in different colors and more expensive than my purchase price. I'l probably cancel the order out of frustration.

Ordered yesterday, it's already out for delivery today.
I'm glad prices have gone up. That's a signal to the market that there is more demand than there is supply which will cause companies to produce more Type C cables.
Also, the fact that the popular/high priced cables are the ones that are "in spec" will cause companies to not only produce in spec cables, but advertise that they are in spec which will make it easier to find good cables in the future.
You just have to be patient...

seems that they work well for the 5x and 6p- they work slowly on the macbook and the pixel, though. based on reviews.
I just ordered a cable direct from Google. I ordered 11/11 and just got notice from FedEx that they were delivered today. I just did the free shipping option.
I could have bought cheap ones but why bother testing out cheap cables when the Google ones are $12.99 and I don't have any questions or concerns with them.

Dun.. Dun... Dunnnn!!!
The cable itself probably won't be damaged but whatever end you're attaching to with the USB a side, it might damage because it may pull more power than it can handle. Only the USB C side connections are certified to handle up to the 3A charge.
I wouldn't touch this with with a 10-foot pole unless verified by Benson,
or verified by someone else (using Benson's method) with photos to prove.
I wouldn't want the charger burning down my house while I'm fast asleep or out and about.

Magnetic USB-C Connectors

I've seen magnetic connectors for microUSB but I've yet to see anything legitimate yet for USB-C. Anyone seen anything?
It's my opinion that magnetic connectors make more sense then wireless charging because you can charge in bed etc without your device having to be docked to charge. And with magnetic connectors there is also no wear on the charge port.

And that plug is round which defeats the purpose of leaving it in. The others are all flat and oval like. So you could leave it in all day

I'm confident they'll ship, they've been very good about staying in touch with us all throughout the process. I think they were getting pretty close to the final samples when they had that problem with the pogo pins because the company that was selling on mischaracterized the longevity of them.
The new ones look like they should be plenty good enough. Really looking forward to getting the micro USB ones for my xbox controllers and the USBC ones for my 6 P.
