Has anyone used LG friends manager to connect to cam plus and hifi plus, why does it has to turn on BT automatically, they both don't use BT.
Cuz others friends use Bluetooth for the connection, my friend

Yes I understand, the 360 cam uses the BT, but why does the cam plus and wifi plus when connected the BT turns on, they don't even use BT in anyway, all it needs is wifi or data for software upgrade.

"The free calling is applicable to the Android phones that have the Smart Wi-Fi app pre-installed and pre-configured for T-Mobile."
But there are a lot of things available after rooting that are app related and tmobile signed.

So I called tmo and the guy "added" this wifi calling feature to my phone.
I don't know how this magic works and I don't know how to test it because I can't find the wifi calling app, the one I copied from the G2X crashes on launch so I don't know....
OK I just called tmo and I was told the following: the nexus s supports this feature. There is no app to control ON/OFF. if they enable it on your account, then whenever you're connected to a wifi network, you're calls will go thru that feature. I don't like this because sometimes the wifi signal is so weak I can just see problems. I'll wait until there is an app for this.
Can someone verify if this true? You won't need the wifi calling app ??

Agreed..and there's no way just the apk without the lib files would work..wifi calling is only on branded handsets.

Can't believe we don't have hack to get this app to work with nexus s yet specially now that MT4G and G2 have gingerbread as well with wifi calling.

The problem is the radio interface layer, a proprietary blob supplied by samsung.
It does not support the auth calls made by the kineto libraries in order to switch to GAN. Without switching to the gan ril wifi calling is not possible.
Ginger bread is not the issue, the libraries have all been made to work, the apk works. The problem lies in the ril. Until a ril surfaces that works on the nexus s and supports gan (something kineto said is unlikely) progress is halted on wifi calling.

Right on! Good to know the actual reason.
(and I have so many words to look up in this post).
Noob question here, i would like to know if it is possible to send my cellular connection to another phone by bluetooth maybe? Let's say i have this old cdma smartphone that i like alot and i would like to use it sometimes but my line is on a new hspa sim card phone... Is it possible to establish a bluetooth connection to the new phone and use the old one to make calls. I don't know what VPN connections are but could this be used for making the link. My old phone is a windows 6.1 device and my new one is an android.

WiFi connection method of Nokia and Android is different, is the reason you are unable to
connect. If your Android device is rooted, you can try any application which will change
the connection to Adhoc net type. ZT-180 Adhoc Switcher is an App that you can try..
PS: use this way at your own risk, even though any serious issue haven't reported yet...
I've currently got a pebble steel watch which I can use to locate my phone if I lose it, but only if it's within bluetooth range, which it never is when I lose it.
Can the Gear 2 connected to wifi be used to find it's associated phone if it's on the same wifi network?
Thanks
Yes, just tried it out for you by switching off Bluetooth on my phone and then used the Gear S2 Find my phone feature successfully, while the watch was connected remotely, ie via WiFi.

Great, thanks for taking the time to test that
