Yes they have released the kernel source for Mi 4i. Named Ferrari-l-oss

Rooting procedure is already available for Mi 4i.
You can easily root Mi 4i by following the procedure from androidxda.com it has given simple procedure to root Mi 4i

You might want to search for a few minutes on this forum... there are numerous threads on how to install TWRP and root on the Mix 3. After a solid 1 minute of searching I found these:
-Guide for TWRP and ROM installation
-How to root
-Root mi mix 3 any version by TWRP
They might not be exactly the version you want but its the same process, you just need to figure out what version of TWRP and Magisk to use.

They have an app now. Install the app, grant root access and done.
iam using mobile a2 lite
but mi community apk no accept update or uninstall
