I got the software update notification for my lg g3 with at&t and clicked it, it did the software update to my knowledge...i watched it go from 0% to 100% in both steps or both phases. Then it said it needed to restart, i clicked ok or maybe it was continue and the phone powered off to restart...It pulled up tgeo lg title screen or whatever you want to call it and in the top left corner it said boot verification failed!!, and then cause-different hash. Before this update my o hone w i rked perfectly, not one problem.
Now as far as trying to fix it; ive removed the battery and ive done the factory setting reset that would end up deleting all my info. The battery thing did nothing and the factory reset would start and then the screen would go blank and then nothing. Someone please help me get my phone working again.
unfortunately I have the same issue. phone is useless. wont turn on 50% of the time, after a battery removal and wait a bit, insert battery and try to power it on, 1 out of 50 times itll make it to the AT&T screen than boot loop, other times it gets to the LG screen and says something about boot verification failed and shuts off. so pissed.
Hardware failure most likely.

I hope someone can help me, I have a Sprint Touch Pro2. Last night it randomly started rebooting itsself, i was not loading a new rom, i was not installed any software, i wasn't doing anything other that texting and IMing people. After i removed the SD Card, there were a few times i got it to load to the unlock screen, but once i got passed that it would say "starting device activation..." or something like that. Then i got it loaded but Touch Flo 3D would not automatically start. So i removed the battery and restarted it again and i went to bed and left it charging, and it kept restart itself again, when i woke up it the phone was dead, and will not turn on. The charging light is on but it will not turn on.
This happenned to me, i ended up having to exchange the phone.
have u tried a hard reset. U can do this by holding power button and call and end keys.
Phone must be off and it will completely erase your data
this sounds like what my phone is doing. is there a fix? i think im sol because i didnt buy it though sprint.
Not Hopeless
This happened to my Sprint TP2 I soft and hard-reset it but it still went back to the reboot loop.
I put it in the tri-boot screen and re-reflashed the stock ROM and all was well.
Same here
The same thing is happening for me right now. Soft-resets aren't helping. It's sporadic, however, sometimes saying it successfully activated and needs to reboot (then going into activation right away), sometimes saying it failed, and sometimes not coming up at all (but I'm pretty sure it's running in the background, even if I hit cancel, because the phone is very warm and the battery drains very quickly).
I took it to Sprint and they confirmed it was already activated. They tried manually activating it, succeeded, and it still kept doing it. However, both them and I were able to place a phone call, text, and visit a website... so basically it was working. But, like I said, this constant nagging of activation was running in the background sucking juice and killing performance. Their diagnosis was "it's acting weird". The main home screen clock has also been stuck at 0:00 ever since this started (though the lock screen clock and clocks in the World Clock screen are correct).
They said I could go to their service shop and do a diagnostic and backup/wipe/restore or they'd replace it under warranty if it still didn't work.
I figured I'd just try the hard reset myself tonight. Will post how that goes. I'm not sure what this "tri-boot" screen is, but I'll do some searching and check that out too.
I was using my phone this morning and I opened up chrome. As soon as I did that my phone restarted. I did a soft reset and it took me to an AT&T app page. I think it was something like Ready 2 Go(Not entirely sure of the name), and it said to press continue which showed me a Google setting page telling me I had turned off location tracking. I turned it on and went back to chrome (probably a mistake). It started restarting again, and it would take a few restarts before I got the screen, but then it went back to looping after 30 seconds, and I haven't seen the screen since. I already factory reset, and I tried recovery mode which showed me a red triangle ! icon. I have a Mac, and someone told me to plug my phone into the computer, but I want to make sure I know where to go from before I do that. Can anyone help?
Ok. So 14 days ago my wife and I both got S6's for Verizon from a local big box store. (yes, 14. Today is the last day I have to take it back.)
We took the OTA to OE2 and I was able to root both phones with PingPong. Everything was fine until yesterday. Her phone wasn't responding when a call was coming in, so she restarted it by holding in the power button. Now, when it boots up it goes to a black screen after showing the initial "Samsung Galaxy S6" screen. Nothing changes. There is a teal/blue pulsing LED that doesn't go away.
I can enter the recovery and wipe cache, factory reset, safemode, etc. I've tried all of those many times. I can enter download mode and use Odin 3.10.6 to reflash OE2 and it says "Pass". After rebooting, it goes to the "Android is upgrading" dialog and goes through and updates about 248 apps, and then changes to read "Starting apps." It won't go past that screen. I left it on that from 10pm last night until 6am this morning with no change. The battery eventually went dead (from 100%). I've tried Odin many times, and it passes every time.
What are my options? When booting, the padlock is unlocked and says "Custom". I'd really like to get rid of that so I can return it to today without problems. When in Download mode, the system status says "custom".
Please help!!
I've also tried using SmartSwitch on the PC, and it doesn't detect the phone.
Update: I'm trying an Emergency Recovery with Smart Switch. It's at 52% right now. I got a serial number from another S6 so it would allow the download/recovery process to start. It's kind of ridiculous you can't get the serial number for your device from anywhere but the settings page on the phone. (Note: not the IMEI, the actual SN). It's not on the box or back of the phone.
Ok, another update. Emergency Recovery didn't work. It finished, and said that it was successful, but didn't fix the issue.
I took the phone back to the place of purchase and they tried about everything that I had already tried. They ended up just replacing the phone. They said that they never saw this issue before.
I have almost an identical issue except I have not roOted or installed any custom ROMs everything is stock . The fingerprint scanner quit working today and said it required a restart, when I restarted the phone I'm experiencing exactly what you are a black screen and a blue pulsing light. In the stock recovery screen I've tried booting to safe mode USB debugging everything except the factory restore yet I think that is my last resort.
How to restore into operation LG G2 D800 phone that says "Fastboot mode started"?
Current problem: phone is not operational (does not boot properly).
What I see:
Boot Screen 1:
Phone appears to boot as normal, makes the start-up sound, then it shows a white message box on a gray-screen background. The message box says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
It gives me an option to click "OK".
Clicking OK, message box disappears, screen momentarily flashes an all-white background, (which sometimes changes into black and sometimes not), and then it goes back to the message box.
Boot Screen 2:
"[xxxx] Fastboot mode started" on a blank screen,
where xxxx is a number. 6180 one time, 9790 another during 2 individual boots.
Then the phone just sits there doing nothing seemingly indefinitely.
I am not sure yet how I bring those two different boot modes up but via pressing Power and / or Power and Down buttons in some fashion.
How do I fix this? Is my device bricked?
How I got to that screen
I was using a web browser or some other app on the phone when I have received a text message. I clicked on it inside text box to reply. But changed my mind, and clicked back on the background app. Suddenly the phone shut off unexpectedly. I thought it was related to phone drawing suddenly high battery power, not receiving it and shutting off as sometimes happens on very low battery power level 2-4%. However, my battery was charged over 40% so that was most likely not the cause.
Possibly relevant history (anything that could be contributed to the above):
phone worked okay for a while (since purchase)
~1 year in I tried rooting phone with towelroot/other options unsuccessfully. Gave up. Was never able to root the device. Lived with is as is for a while.
~2 years since purchase, somehow Bluetooth option started failing to turn on. Trying to fix that via doing a Factory Reset did not help. So I lived with BT being non-operational
A week ago I swapped SIM card with my buddy for a week, then swapped it back. Phone kept working as normal.
Today I charged the phone perhaps not using the best power source - it is possible I may have damaged phone using a questionable quality charger. Possibly. This could be the issue. However the phone seemingly worked fine after that for 2-3 hours.
Since my unexpected Shut-Off (most recent), I tried rebooting the phone, but that does not work as expected. First time it got stuck on LG screen forever. Kept pressing Power button, or Power & Down buttons to try to make it come alive. Other two times it brings up a message with "[xxxx] Fastboot mode started" on a blank screen and then it just sits there doing nothing.
Another boot, the process went further, past LG G2 logo, into white screen, and then it brought up a message "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.", I clicked okay. It looped back to bringing up the message. I clicked Okay over 10 times, it was stuck in a loop.
Please help my phone is confused like it is blinking lg logo but not getting on. In charge it gets on but in few seconds it gets off.
I think you are in soft brick state for some reason.. Did you try to do anything prior to this situation?
How did that happened? Similar issue happened to me, heres my post from other thread:
My H955 suddenly rebooted and it keeps on bootloop. It turns on fully and after 10-30 seconds (the hotter it gets, the less time it stays booted up) reboots again. After I left it to cooldown, there was error that root is gone or smth like that, and I had to agree to EULA and terms&conditions but the phone rebooted again. Maybe some kind of update was pushed in or whatever. This is the first time for me to happen. I have not installed new apps or mods on my phone like in two weeks.
Btw, seems like this is soft reboot, because there is no sounds and it didn't asked for SIMs PIN. I guess it has something to do with xposed..
I have used this method http://www.hard-reset.mobi/lg-g-flex-2-hard-reset/#to do factory reset. It seems to work, however phone still reboots. @mnshkpr8 try this to do factory reset, maybe this will help you.
Later I will try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/help/to-unbrick-g-flex-2-ls996-t3286105
