Are you plugged into a wall socket? If you are trying to charge through USB from a computer, it won't charge unless in sleep mode. Even then it will charge slowly.
Plugged into a wall socket atm.. iv tried from a computer I don't get a charging icon like I used 2

Just got it from Amazon and I have the same issue and still not able to figure out how to fix it. My Transformer is lying there without charging. Planning to return it to Amazon.
Right I just got mine working... try this pull the plug apart and put it back together now squueze them together as tight as you can and try that. Its working for me now ..

It just doesn't work. How is the usb cable connected to your adapter? It just gets in both ways.
Can you send me a picture of how the three parts are fit into each other?
its only suppose to go in one way, just like conncting any USB devices. But tried that, dissemble the adaptor and put them together, it actually happened to me once too, did exactly that and everything fixed. Remember you gotta squeeze pretty hard to put the two pieces together.
Thanks guys, its working. But this is ridiculous, you have to do a dumbbell roll to fix battery plug
i cant get it too charge and i just got it in the mail. why the hell it even come with this wack ass plug in the first place. what a horrible first impression!
I suggest you dont even use it, its dangerous. Mine melted the first day I got it. I went to bestbuy and got a replacement that works great. It charges at 11 volts/1.5 amps

Yes, I had this problem with mine too.
It seems to be a common issue:

This seriously works?
I just hope the voltage is right... I've tried different adapters for my phone and then my phone started acting weird (like it didn't take calls and would freeze at times). Replaced the adapter and it returned to normal again.
My TF adapter also gets really hot when charging.
Thanks for the recommendation.
I put some petroleum jelly on the metal prongs and smashed it on the counter a few times AFTER snapping it in.
Unfortunately I did them at the same time and didn't test in between so i don't know which if either or possibly both fixed it but mine is finally ****ing charging.
What a headache. I'm really bothered by ASUS for issuing such a faulty component.
I'm probably going to pick up that dynex tomorrow, because I just KNOW this will break again and mysteriously lodge itself into my drywall.
I just had the problem and discovered that the 5 forward pins on the power adapter are apparently quite easily deformed.
The charger is dual output, 5v and 15v.They use a USB3 connector, with the 15v quick charge output on those pins. I expect that they use the old USB 2 pins behind them to supply 5v for a slow charge, and PC data/charge connection.
Just prior to this, I had tried using an extension USB3 cable on it, so that I could use it while charging, and I suspect that was just enough to deform a couple of the 5 pins in the charger, and I got no charge at all from it, even after putting it back to normal. After an hour, the charger was still cold, and no indication of charging on either the tablet or with the table and keyboard attached.
With a good light and strong magnifier, I could see that a couple of the pins (of the 5 in the front) looked a bit recessed compared to the others, and carefully used the tip of a very fine needle to lift all of them just slightly. Having done that, the charger came to life when I plugged it back in, and the TF is indicating that it is charging.
I don't know how solid or permanent the fix will be, but it is working for me now.
Well last night I fell asleep on the couch with my tablet charging. My Uncle thought it would be a great idea to scare me, needless to say I jumped up and the tablet landed right on the charging port with the cord plugged in. The cord works, supposedly, I don't have a computer to plug it into to make sure data works. The tablet says its charging but its still draining. I've tried different sockets around the house. Should I buy a new cord or could this be an internal problem.

My device isn't charging for some reason, the cable seems fine but I keep getting a blinking light after using it? Help?

I had this same problem. It seems on the new kernel it won't charge on anything less than the factory charger and cable. This initially didn't work for me either so I detached the powerpoint bit from the rest of the charger and reattached it firmly and it started charging again. I saw a suggestion on another forum to put the charger in a air tight bag and chuck it in the freezer for 30 minutes, I didn't need to do this and can't understand why it would work but worth a go if nothing else works.
Does anyone else find that the charging cable at the phone end gets VERY hot? I've noticed today that the cable has begun to melt and go black. And although I am charging my phone through it right now I'm a little nervous my phone may explode lol. Could this be die to the cable or do you think it's the plug?

So, today I plugged in my S6 Edge and the fast charging is not working anymore. It is the same charger, outlet etc... Anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!

I've seen this before. Make sure the USB is pushed in the charger tightly. If it is, then it may be the USB cable is bad
Thanks,
Does it not say fast charging in the pull down menu?

It doesn't.
@sandman513 check if the cable or charger is not damaged.

Noticed this on family members phone check how the plug is in the wall, try turning the plug 180 degrees/ switching the outlet orientation. I kept rotating the plug & one way = fast charging the other = slow charge. Its easy to mix up since the chargers do not have the one "thicker" prong
Wound up buying a new cable, everything works now. Thanks!
