I need find the MCU for MTCD_GS_V.1.34_1
It's possible ? I'm just not able to ENCONTRA the by any websites
I got the archive of the MCU for MTCD_GS_V1.49_1, but I version instead of the V1.34_1
This can cause me a problem? Because the touch buttons light up but do not respond to touch.
It will not if the version of the MCU, or some configuration must be performed
Just FYI - I've tested 64GB SDXC card and it works fine. I have no possibility to test bigger one.

Custom ROM for GS unit
Hi together,
I'm considering of buying a GS MTCD unit. If Malaysk is so gentle and brings out a custom ROM will his version run on that one? I'm thinking about that one:
http://xtrons.com/pf75aa4a-7-androi...nction-obd2-for-audi-a4-s4-rs4-seat-exeo.html
Thanks a lot!
The MCTD_LM unit is not in the list, it's the Erisin 3062 model.

I am still looking to buy a unit and deciding between Joying MTCB and Joying MTCD. I honestly like Android 4.4.4 look and feel better, plus with Malaysk's Android 5.1.1 ROM for MTCB units I can experience both android versions if I buy an MTCB unit.
Because it is advertised that Mirrorlink will no longer work if factory reset is done, will I no longer be able to use mirrorlink if I install Malaysk Rom on an MTCB unit?
Also has the buzzing noise when using hands free mode been improved with the MTCD units? See post #7036 for an example of someone who had buzzing noise during hands free with Joying MTCB
Thanks

I do not use mirrorlink so I can not comment on that
and buzzing noise it is not a common and know issue with mtcB. at least the unit I have in my own car BT audio is clean.
still I am recommending mtcB till mtcD gets xposed module working

I'm in the market for an Android based head unit for my new SUV and have been digging through the web for a good week now including reading many many posts here. I've noticed Ca-Fi has released a new unit called the Dashlinq4 but information is scant on the web other than the manufacturer's specs:

Is anything known about this unit?

Also any chance you've a photo of the back of the unit? Just wondering what kind of connections are available.

I wouldn't bet on a usb obd2 adaptor working, but why bother - when you can get a bluetooth one from them that will work (i have a feeling a generic one will also work). Just go the bluetooth route. If you saw my videos on youtube, they do work - well.

honestly - not much. i mostly use Waze and google play music.
realistically its no different than your phone - but keep in mind you're only using it for the time periods you're in the car.
I had a dedicated hotspot in one of my old cars with a ca-fi unit - on a 5gb plan, downloading podcasts, constantly streaming, and using it heavily on a 2 hour daily commute - i never came close to using half of my plan
More Qs for you Leadguy,
1) Have you tried side loading applications?
2) How well did it work with Google Play Store out of the box?
3) Can you listen to music (or radio) and have voice navigation (google map or dedicated offline app) at the same time?
4) Noob question - all those RCA connectors, does it mean I'll need an amp as well and can't connect the unit directly to the speakers? I'm really not that picky with audio and would like to avoid the complexity if possible...

1. Yes sideloading applications works just as any pure google device. No hiccups.
2. Play store works 100% as expected.
3. Yes, music of any sort will work perfectly WITH voice navigation. It will fade in and out very nicely between sources (music vs navigation).
4. no need for an external amp, it has a 45w x 4 speaker amp internally. It does provide the option of external amps if preferred though.

Do you have steering wheel controls in your car? If so, do they still work; or do you know if there is an option for them to work?
@leadguy68
Thanks for your information, I'm also looking to buy this unit but just wondering if you install this yourself into your Scion or did you get it professionally installed? If you installed yourself, did you have to modify your dash at all? I'm curious to know because I have the same car, 2013 86gt.
Also wanted to know the following:
Does the GPS work well?
Have you tried hooking up a portable hard drive to this unit?
Does it have usb connectors on the back of unit so that we can drag cable to the glove compartment and hide hard drive or ipod?
Does it play hd movies without probs?
Does the hands free calling work well? I drive alot for work and make heaps of calls in the car or do u need a ext mic?
Have you installed the rear camera? If so, does it work well?
How's the navigation through folders for music?
Have u tried rooting the unit yet?
Do you think the speakers in the Scion need upgrading?
Do you know if we need to buy any other accessories for this unit apart from obd II interface to run torque?
Appreciate your help.

Hey! See my full review for the GT86 at http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62619 That will give you most of the info you need!
Install took literally 15 minutes, no need for a professional. its dead simple.
1. GPS is solid, locks nearly immediately
2. Yep hard drives work without a hitch.
3 it has two usb cables more than long enough to route to the glove box. one for Wifi, one for a hard drive or usb drive.
4. HD movies work great, depending on the app you play them with, they are hiccup free
5. hands free calling works, and works great. the built in mic is pretty decent.
6 no rear camera for me, i have one to install - but no time to set it up.
7. folder navigation is just like any other android device. no big deal!
8 no need to root the device honestly. it does everything i'd need from a car stereo and then some without hacking
9. the stock speakers work - i plan to upgrade eventually though.
10. no other accessories needed to run torque other than the bluetooth obd2 reader.
Thanks Leadguy68.
Your email response is most useful.
Looks like im going to pull the trigger on this one.
Now I got to wait for delivery to Australia.
Planning to upgrade the speakers as well.
@leadguy,
If you've installed your reverse camera, can you please find out whether it's possible to manually select the camera view without going into reverse?
I found this really cool 4-cameras bird's eye view park assist system and one of its feature is to automatically activate the side camera when the turn indicator comes on. Of course then I can't depend on the Dashlinq's reverse wire to turn on the camera view for me.

As best as I can tell there isn't a way to manually select it - but don't take that to the bank. I don't have a camera installed currently with the unit.
Worst case - what you could do is wire the reverse wire that triggers the reverse camera on the screen to a toggle switch in the car and trigger it that way. Easy work around :good:
I wonder if you can hook up a remote control to this unit, I'm assuming this unit does not come with a remote?

This unit does not directly support a remote control
BUT there are aftermarket remote controls that can be wired to the steering wheel control functionality on this unit. That may be a route you could take for that functionality.
Your part 1 of 3 of your walk thru on YouTube is missing. Can you repost it?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I've came from different Android headunit threads, and so far this is the best one, and more important it has the best support.
Also, it has stand by mode which others doesn't.
The developers at Ca-Fi made a great work integrating non-Android devices seamlessly into the operating system itself. Too bad you couldn't test steering wheel controls with third party apps like Google Play Music.
Does the system have video out for headrest?
If so , does it have dualzone? As in continue to play video on these headrest while navigating GPS or something?
Hello,
it seems that there is a problem with the Netflix app on MTCD units.
Android 5.1 Quad Core - apparently you can install and enter the app, but can't play any video materials.
Android 6.0.1 Octa Core - unable to install the app via Play Store (can't even see the Play Store entry for Netflix); sideloading the application from APKMirror.com gives the error that the app is not compatible with the device. Netflix then redirects to their own site which mentions downloading another apk straight from them - this one just bugs out 4-5 times before stopping completely.
This happens both in factory ROMs and the @Malaysk ROM.
My theory is that I would need to somehow make Netflix think that it is being installed on a smartphone, like a Samsung Galaxy or a Sony Xperia.
How can I go about posing the headunit as a phone? Is such a thing even possible?
I tried sideloading the Netflix app on my Pumpkin RQ0278E yesterday and it worked like a champ, it has Marshmallow btw.
..
How?
Brickbeats... Where did you side load it from? I can't get it to work on my pumpkin... Android 6.0.1
It's working fine for me on 6.0.1, I had to install the apk they point you to after you install the app from google play.
Same as NaviPR.. Hope someone can help..

I have a Uconnect Head unit in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (It's actually the UAQ unit (2018 model)) and I have tried to play Netflix content to the head unit via Android Auto (Newest version in Play store) and AA Unlock and AA Mirror. I have used two devices which I describe below, but can not get video overlay to work. When I start Netflix on those two devices below, I see the menu, I can login, I see movie and tv selections, but when I start to play the movie, all I can see are the controls for the video. (volume, progression slider, etc.) but NOT the video itself. I can hear it. It shows fine on the two devices, but when linked via USB cable to Android Auto on the head unit. NO video. Amazon Prime video works fine, as does the DirecTV app, my plex app and others.
My two devices are:
A Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" (Sprint version) running Lineage OS 14.1, unlocked and rooted. I am running AA Unlock, AA Mirror and the current version on Android Auto from the play store.
A Samsung Galaxy S5 (Verizon UNLOCKED) with Lollipop (Android 5.0) and rooted. I am running AA Unlock, AA Mirror and the current version on Android Auto from the play store.
BOTH will not play Netflix videos when connected. I can see the movie playing on both screens of the devices, but not to the head unit. I have tried different versions of Netflix (both from the play store and from direct downloads of the .apk). Nothing seems to work.
Some say that the Custom ROM is the problem, some say that the devices being rooted is the problem, but neither works.
Ideas?

So not an MTCD unit, you have an Android Auto unit? If so, you might best be asking in Android Auto Forums.
Just go to APKMirror and download a version that is for Andriod 4.0+, not Android 5.0+ that's where they have all the errors with our devices which are somewhat rooted.
Informative
Hi everybody!
I have a question, pretty important to me. I have MTCB_KD_V2.41 unit running on Android 5.1.1.
Question (sorry for bad english, I´ll try to keep it simple): Use additional monitor (foldable on dash) to run GPS software (sygic) installed on head unit and at the same time to keep on head unit some other app opened (music, video, youtube....)?
Reason is that I have VW Mk4 Jetta so when I am using GPS I can´t have eyes on the road because HU is down in console, close to the shifter!
One thing I am sure is that HU have one or two video outputs!
Tnx in advance!!!

I have an Hizpo branded android 7.1.2 XRC unit (direct fit for a 2007 cr-v) and here are my experiences with this android deck in terms of dual zone:
I have an overhead flip down monitor (which is connected to one of the video out rca behind the deck) in the back for the kids. The only 2 sources that will allow some form of dual zone for me is the DVD player and AUX input. When on either of those sources I am only able to run and display my navigation app on the deck it self (while the overhead is showing the selected "source")
If I select any other source (ie: radio, video and music player... Etc..) the overhead monitor will go black with no signal meaning my deck does not mirror the image to the video out (which I kind of hoped it did). Please keep in mind this my experience with this Hizpo deck as I do know some will mirror whats on the deck to the video out (just do a youtube search and you will see).
Hope this helps!
So, there is no way I can assign additional screen for GPS app or at least duplicate HU display?

Not with the deck that I have.
Hello,
I've got a Pumpkin AE0273B Headunit with an MTCE_KLD MCU (original: v2.87, currently v2.91 sound patched). I've installed the Navigation System Here WeGo and recognized that the Audio Files where cut off. For Example if it says "Follow the Street" the Headunit only Plays "Follow the Stre". First i thought it is an Error from the App and tested the Soundfiles with the preinstalled Player. But this one cuts it off too. After that I tested it with the vlc for android with disabled Hardware Acceleration and the same happenend. After that I copied the Files to my PC but there they play until the end. So I tried it on my Smartphone (also Android 8.0) and also there they play until the end.
The Audio stops about 500 ms before the end of the File. I've tested it with the Stock Firmware, the Hal9k Rom and the Malaysk Rom but always the same Result.
Maybe someone can give me a Hint where I can look what the Problem is.
I've checked the Logcat but there is nothing special I would say. I also tried other Files like MP3, they have the same Problem. I've tested some Parameter in the Converter, for Example constant Bitrate and variable Bitrate no changes. Then I extended the Files with 500ms of silence and they play until the speech end but it is not a real solution more a workaround. And if the Navi App plays more Wav files like "Follow the Street for 10 km" the Start of the next Wav file "for" sounds awful like it is combining two Audio Outputs.
Greetings reifl
Hi there,
Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am now experiencing this issue as well... stock firmware, PX5, Android 8.
I first noticed it with Google Assistant, then with navigation.
Cheers
I had that problem with the PX5 MTCD/MTCE as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure it wasn't fixed in Android 9.0 either. Very recently I got a CSN2 PX5 HU by accident, and it is without this issue.
Thanks for the confirmation. I thought the issue might only be with my unit...
Just in case anyone else gets this issue, the details of my unit are:
Build number: px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20180706.161540 test-keys
MCU version: MTCE_CZ_V3.06_2
It is a HIZPO Unit (not allowed to post the link).
Apart from the audio cutting out prematurely, it is a top little unit! Straight forward to install - a little soldering here and there. Wasn't a perfect fit in to my trusty 2004 Camry, so it needed a little persuasion.
Same here for me on Android 10.
Kernel: 4.19.111+ (#2262)
MCU: MTCE_HF_V3.55_1 (Jun 4 2020 11:17:35)
Build: rk3368-userdebug 10 QQ2A.200305.004.A1 eng.hct2.20200915.135247 test-keys
Model: H2(1280x720) - Seicane H240N
Hello all! So I bought an Android headunit and I was looking into getting the vivid launcher. Currently have max 10 px6 android 11. Tried contacting dasaita and they were no help when trying to update my unit. I downloaded the vivid launcher being being that is not the one that comes with my headunit my steering wheel controls to change tracks won't work on the vivid launcher. I want to see about rooting my device so maybe a I can disable the factory music player? I just really am not that tech savvy and could use some help. I appreciate it in advance
