Font-bricked M2 - Sony Xperia M2

Dear XDA Community,
I used the app "iFont" to change my phone font to one that did not come with the app (Champagne & Limousines) . The app rebooted the phone, but it could not go past the Sony logo.
I have tried to repair it with PC Companion and Xperia Companion, but with both programs I have the same problem: they do not recognize my phone (D2305) when I plug it in turned off holding the Volume Up button. Also an error appears, that "SOMC Flash Device" could not be installed.
I also tried to do a hard reset, buy my M2 does not have a recovery mode. I can't flash it either, I get this error:

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum!
First, you'll need to enable 'Unsigned driver installation' in Windows, so that SOMC Flash Device gets correctly installed. There are plenty of guides, this one, for example, may help you.
Once done, try to reintall Flashtool's drivers from C:/Flashtool/drivers/Flashtool-drivers.exe, executing it as administrator.
In the list, check the first two entries, plus, Tianchi driver, and Xperia T2 ultra driver.
Once done, let it install and remember to trust the driver installation if you get prompted.
After that, try again flashing via Flashtool. While the device is being recognized by your pc, let it install the controller, so do not unplug it until you see it gets correctly recognized, by a prompt that will appear.
Then, the flash will begin and all will be restored to factory settings.
Good luck!

Thanks for the welcome and the fast reply!
I did everything you told me and it still did not work.
Sorry for the late response! I gave my phone to a friend, who also could not fix it with software, so he worked with the hardware. It revived!
Thanks a lot for the help. Could you delete this thread, or mark it as solved?
Cheers!

(Xperia J) Can't flash in flash mode

Hello, first of all sorry for my english.
Yesterday I flashed my Xperia J with FXP223, everything was ok except that I have no network, and my IMEI was gone.
I've found that I have to flash my phone with an ICS stock rom and reflash with FXP223.
But i can't flash my phone in flash mode.
I followed all instructions, Flashtool -> flash mode -> select .ftf rom -> plug my phone in flash mode when asked, green led is OK -> and then the flash freeze at "Flashing data" and at the same time my green led shutdown.

Did you install the drivers from the flashtool folder? If not that may very well be your problem.

Flashtool-drivers.exe doesn't have drivers for Xperia J, I've tested to manually import J drivers with that method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41592930&postcount=15 but doesn't work too.
Sony companion recognize my phone (when I test to recover my phone it says that my phone has been modified, but it recognize the phone)
I don't know what to do

Did you install the fastboot and flashmode drives from the setup as you may need them too. I think it would be worth it to install all of the drivers from the driver setup folder. If you try that and then that method after I think it should work.
OMFG
After hours and hours of research and test, it finally works !!! (on the 4th PC )
Certainly drivers conflict or something like that.
If someone have the same problem :
Install only Flashtool v0.9.10.1
Install flashmode drivers with Flashtool-drivers.exe
Launch it.
Import ST26 drivers in flashtool (search ST26.zip on google)
Connect the Xperia J in flashmode to automatically install the windows drivers.
When complete disconnect the Xperia J.
In Flashtool -> flashmode -> select a stock .ftf rom -> flash -> connect the xperia in flashmode when asked. Yeah it flash.
I insist that on this PC, I have never installed SEUS, PC companion or others software or drivers.
(For those who want, I flashed with an ICS stock rom then FXP218, now all works)
Thank you gamer649 for trying to help me

It is good to hear you got it working. I've just noticed you previously said you tried to repair your phone in PC companion. That would have stopped it working too. I'm sorry I didn't pick that up sooner.
tried all of that but no luck when i press on the thunder icon it says wait for flash

Remove SIM Card, MMC & then flash! Also, note that sometimes flashing doesn't work after you resume from Standby/Hibernate mode in PC.

[Q] Please help Sony Xperia E C1505 Bricked!

Couple months back I downloaded an app called LCD Density Modder. It's description was to make everything on your device seem small basically, and so I decided to download it. It told me to turn my mobile off then on for the changes to take effect and so I did :silly:
When I turned it back on, it wouldn't get as far as the sony logo. Can I get some help on how to fix this please? Thanks in advance!

Bro this isn't called brick... This is just a normal bootloop... Nothing to panic...
Just reset your phone via SUS(Sony update service)
Or flash a ftf file of your device..
Here I'm providing you the link of SUS..
Here Is The Link-
Sony Update Service (SUS)
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
http://www-support-downloads.sonymob...-2.11.12.5.exe
Dont Forget To Hit Thanks if your device gets started..btw 'm sure that it will start...

When I open SUS, I choose my device model, It says I need to connect my USB Cable to my PC, hold the volume down key and then plug the USB cable into my Mobile. When I do that nothing actually happens...
Oh and also, when I go on Flashtool it says I need drivers, so when I check for drivers Sony Xperia E doesn't show up, but nearly every other Sony mobile shows.... Why is this?

Hello iTike,
First of all, I have had my Sony Xperia E(c1505) also in a bootloop so I know what you are dealing with! I tried every single possibility there is, and nothing worked, until my friend runned Sony Update Service on his computer and it worked!
So I recommend you using Sony Update Service as been said before. Install it, and run it, click Sony Xperia E and make sure your phone is been shut off! Click install/restore. And press the volume down button and at the same time connect your phone with the USB-cable, while you have it already plugged in in the computer! SUS wil begin downloading. Let it download and install. If the install worked plug out your USB-cable and press the power button. It will restart(it takes a while, but it will restart), and your phone is (hopefully) fixed.
If not, try to flash a stock .ftf file with Flashtool with this tutorial:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240614.
And this file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409632. It is branded from the UK so there are some apps pre-installed, which you can't delete!
Hope I helped, and otherwise feel free to ask!
And It would be nice if you pressed the thanks button, but I'm not going to beg for it

Hello,
For the Sony Xperia E the flashbutton is the volume down button, so don't press the back or menu button, but the volume-down key!

Thanks a lot, but i'm stuck on Step 3. There isn't any Sony Xperia E drivers on the list... How do I get the drivers?
Hello iTike.
You don't need any Xperia E drivers installed. Everything you need are the Flashmode and fastboot drivers! Just install, start Flashtool, click the lightning icon, and select your C1505 firmware .ftf. And then click Flash. Someone posted even a tutorial man, just follow it. If you are still confused, questions are always welcome!
Cheers, and good luck!
Every time I install the drivers it says they aren't installed, and I need to get them from the folders of flashtool. I've been doing that but it keeps on saying the same thing.... Why is this?
Try to use a different computer? Perhaps that'll work!

Sony drivers
I had the same problem installing drivers.
1. i installed Sony PC companion and connected the phone.
then go to Device Manager from control panel. you'll see adb device with question mark.
2. Right click it and choose the 'update driver '
3. Select the browse my computer for driver software option
4. And again choose " let me pick blah blah"
5. From there select Sony mobile or something like that that. I kinda forgot but it should be easy.
Also the name will be adb something.
6.install when you find.
can't give a full tutorial right now but it will work.

Root will give you access to the phone's system files. It's required for most firmware tweaks and modifications, as well as by many apps on the play store. Root explorer is one of the many root browsers (file manager that can take advantage of the root access) available in the play store. Another one I'm using on my xperia u is root browser. Anyway, you can gain root access extremely easy on your phone. There are many ways, but since I guess you're new to that stuff, you should do it with a rooting toolkit. Since you have the 6.1.1.b.1.100 build, you first need to flash the kernel of the 6.1.1.b.1.10. After this you can use a rooting toolkit to root your device. After rooting, you'll need to flash the 6.1.1.b.1.100's kernel again. Then you can install a custom recovery, like the one you mentioned. For flashing the kernels you have to use the flashtool (search it on the net) and you can also search the net for a rooting toolkit compatible for your firmware. I don't remember what I had used on my xperia u, since it's now running a custom rom.

[Completed] Cont. Xperia C4 (5306) won't turn on after system upgrade

Hello,
This is a continuation of post http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/xda-assist/xperia-c4-5306-wont-upgrade-t3301096?nocache=1 To recap, about two weeks ago I got a OTA update message, left the phone updating which resulted in a complete unresponsive device, that is a black screen, a red light when charging. The only thing that is allowing me is to go into flashmode, which I've been using to try to repair.
The last thing I've tried was to use Flashtool (v. 0.9.18.6) which gave the the following error.
Code:
02/046/2016 17:46:26 - INFO - Selected Bundle for Sony Xperia C4 (E5306). FW release : 27.1.A.1.106. Customization : US-Generic-0

02/054/2016 17:54:36 - ERROR - Processing of loader.sin finished with errors.
02/054/2016 17:54:36 - INFO - Ending flash session
02/054/2016 17:54:36 - ERROR - S1 Header checksum Error
02/054/2016 17:54:36 - ERROR - Error flashing. Aborted
This happened with 7.1.A.0.106 R3A and 27.2.A.105 R5A firmwares.
As I mentioned in the other thread, with flashtool v. 0.9.19.10 the only error I received was about a missing flashboot-delivery otherwise the flashing process continued.
Another thing that I've noticed is that when I plug the phone without going into flashmode, windows (8.1 or 10) doesn't recognize it. I keep hearing the sound of a device plugged and unplugged. This makes me think that it may be the cause why I get an error when using Sony PCC. Oh, also I get no message when using adb as suggested in http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-c5-ultra/development/bootloader-unlocked-custom-recovery-t3285521
I've read elsewhere about a way to repair a bricked phone by finding a test point but I found no tutorials for my phone.
Any ideas will be welcomed

Hi and welcome to XDA.
There's no dedicated forum for your device here in XDA. I found a discussion thread about the flashtool here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...roxydes-flashtool-features-xperia-c4-t3292650 You can try asking there or in General discussion Questions and Answers
Good luck
