[Completed] Atrix help needed - XDA Assist

My motorola atrix has been doing good. This is not the new one. I have had it a few years. One night I had it charging in the laptop dock. Then it began turning on and off. Then it entered a bootloop and stayed there. After this i tried taking out battery, wiping the partition and it continued.
I plugged into computer with the motorola usb cable and the green light comes on but phone does not turn on. I can hear it being recognized by the computer because I hear it as if it is turning on and off but nothing is on the screen. Little later I plug into the wall charger. After awhile I get a grayed out battery with a question mark.
The odd thing is my samsung galaxy tablet is doing the same thing ie stuck in a boot loop. Must be an app I had on both devices that is causing this. I did change facebook passcode but did not change on the devices. That is the only change I made. I have not made any changes to the phone. It was already an unlocked phone when I got it.
Is there software I can use to get into my phone to some how access my photos/videos before trying to do a reset?
I also bought a new battery and it does the same as the old battery grayed out with question mark.
Just now I got into a menu to try recovery but I got a triangle with yellow exclamation mark.
Also, when I plug in the wall charger the phone screen turns on and stays on the motorola logo. Have to take out battery and unplug to make it go back off.
And just now unplugged from wall connected to usb on computer and it is in a boot loop with motorola animation, rethink possible and then off and boots again. But soon stops since it must be running out the battery due to slower charging time with a usb.
Any suggestions please? Thank you.

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist,
sorry for the delayed answer!
which Motorola Atrix? HD? 4G? 2?
Kind regards and good luck

[Q] Battery Refresh/Shutdown

Hi all,
i've got a normal nexus s, not rooted or anything, its running 2.3.2 as i haven't had the OTA yet. However strange things have started happening this week with regards to my battery.
I can no longer shutdown the phone whilst its plugged in, it goes through the motions, vibrates and then just hangs on the dimmed screen with shutdown on it. when i unplug the cable, it switches off. However, when i then plug the cable in, it starts up the phone, instead of just charging when switched off with that white battery meter.
It has also stopped recognising that it has been plugged in on the battery use info screen, so it is saying that i have been on battery power for almost 6 days now.
Its not a dealbreaker for me, but i haven't tinkered with anything, and its just plain annoying. I'm starting to think its just shizzle samsung hardware. Anyone any ideas? Or same thing happened? Cheers.

Motorola XT 720 Start up problems

Why won't my XT720 start up?
When it is connected to my charger, the four action keys light up. Despite leaving it to charge overnight, it appears that the battery isn't charging. The phone won't start while it is charging, neither when connected to the mains or to my car power supply.
I bought a new battery without any improvement.
When I access the bootloader screen it says there is too little power in the battery to program the phone.
The phone is not recognised by my computer when connected.
The phone is running Froyo 2.2. with Dexter rom.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions......apart from binning the phone!
Thanks!
I think the phone likes to selfboot with too little charge. See if you can shut it down cleanly so it won't autoboot. It's annoying but you may have to watch it very carefully to catch it when it's trying to boot because it will drain itself back to death very quickly.

Hi Oakham, do you have any update to your case? I have the same problem now.
Yesterday, I noticed the battery bar went down to orange region (about 30%?). I plugged it to the wall for about an hour (the charging symbol showed up). Later I found out that the battery bar did not move (still stuck at orange region). Later the night, I tried to charge again (the bar was red at about 15% or less). The charging symbol showed up. Later I checked, the battery bar did not improve but declined. The phone eventually went out of battery and turned itself off.
I tried to continue to charge using both the wall outlet and PC USB. No luck. I could not even power up the phone now. Did you manage to resolve your case? Anyone got the same problem and found the solution?
I thought about buying a new battery to try, but then I saw your post, so I hesitated.
Thanks.

I've had this problem. Watching the phone closely while charging and pulling the battery whenever it starts to boot works. After about the fourth time doing this I got a battery charger from amazon for ~$5 because it's gently loving annoying.

Thanks for your advice.
So when you first bumped into this problem, how did you get it back to boot up?
I followed your advice to watch it while it's charging. When I saw the motorola logo showed up, I pulled the battery. Then I plugged it back and let it charged for some more time. Then I tried to power up the phone. The motorola logo came on and then the big battery symbol came on saying it's 100% full (but i knew it's not). Later, those 4 soft touch button lid on. This cycle repeated. And I'm clueless.
Please let me know the steps you took to recover your phone.
Thanks.

Once you get into the system use 'power off' from the menu. It won't autoboot then and you can leave it in the wall overnight. I think. A voodoo doll may work, too. It can be really frustrating, but I've been able to get out of it every time so far. Like I said, I got sick of this game and found a battery charger for pretty cheap.

Try deleting batterystats.bin and doing what M said.. can you get to open recovery and charge from there?
I also had the 'M' logo screen, stuck on-screen when the charger was connected. There is a post which suggests, for this, 'Pull battery.2) Insert battery and hit power button;3) As soon as you hit the power button, hold the volume up button down until the unboxing logo comes up.'
As my phone is still under warranty, I sent it back to see if there is a physical problem. I'll try the above suggested solution when my phone comes back from 'Motorola', whether or not it is repaired by them! I've also bought a battery charger for the phone's BP6X battery from e-Bay (£9.50, including another battery.)At least I will then know that a battery is fully charged before I try fixes.
Thanks for the other posts/replies!

In my experience OR drains faster than it can charge.

Damn!
I had about the same. Battery got drained down from 80% to 5%. Then the screen for "please plug in for charging" appeared. Some moments later the phone went dark and now I can't get it to work again. It doesn't react on the power button. Even when plugged in the charging-symbol doesn't appear. I can't turn it on. Sucks!
Any ideas?
My phone has been repaired by Motorola, under warranty, and returned after four days. Accompanying report is brief: 'Software update and screening'. Seems to be working fine.......just like a brand new phone!
This morning i find myself in the same situation. My phone have the soft keys iluminated but it didint work.OMG... what happend durring the night. So i tried to boot the phone but nothing happend, and after reading tje post on the problem i have tried to remove the battery and put`it back, tryed anothe reboot, and holdind the buttons power+vol up. Nothing worked. But when i have tried the combination power + vol up + cammera shutter and plugged the cable. at first nothing happend. but after i have relesed the buttons the logo apeared and started charging. after that i powerd on my phone normaly
My phone does that everytime it charging and I remove the plug when it's in sleep mode. I have to remove the battery and it's power on normally.

[Q] Properly Bricked Xoom - no screen whatsoever

hi everyone, I have a challenge for you...
My MZ604 Wifi Xoom is completely unresponsive. No boot logo, no screen nothing.
A few months ago I flashed a US stock to get a hold of the ISC update. it went off without a hitch and I was very happy with it.
A few weeks ago I picked it up and it was black and not booting, even to the logo. Nothing.
The only things that light up are the white charging light when it is plugged in.
When I plug in the USB (Win7x64) it registers as a Motorola Flash Interface and charges through my computer- but not all the time.
I have tried many combinations of button pressing and holding, and the only indications I get that it is working underneath the black screen are the white front light going on and off and the device registering in device manager.
Oh, and it makes the battery low sound when low on battery, which i hope is a good sign.
Adb fastboot does not recognise the device no matter that I do.
Has anyone ever come back from this???
Desperate,
Bloggorus

This might be a case for the Motorola Programming cable from the Black Hat Team (google it). You can also make one. There are instructions somewhere in one of these threads.
Have you tried to take the cover off and remove the batter(ies)? Look for the thread with instructions for that. You will need a Torx screwdriver (#5?).
I'll bet you can bring it back.
thanks okantomi,
I just ordered a torx set, hopefully a battery disconnect will work.
Very hard to figure this out, every single search i made for 'bricked xoom' came up with silly buggers with frozen boot screens. Not a real brick at all...
If you don't hear from me again, assume it's fixed!
Thank again
Good luck!
We havent hear from you since so hopefully you fixed your xoom!
Can you share your experience for whoever has simmilar issue....
Thanks
&
Good Luck

[q] mb526 full brick?

Hi, this is my first posto here, so I hope I'm posting in the right section. However, I am desperately looking for help. My Defy+ seems to be completely, irretrievabily dead. It was rooted and its OS was WIUI, I tried installing in it CM7 but, after a serie of events, I've come to the point where it doesn't turn on, if I connect it via USB to the pc only a white LED turns on (and the PC doesn't recognizes it) and, if I plug it to the wall charger, it is stuck on the bootloader screen saying "low battery, cannot program". At the repaire shop I've been told I have nothing to do bot buying a new phone. Is there no hope at all?

[Completed] Strange behavior of phone because of bad battery

Hello all
I dont know the right place to ask about my problem so I apologize in advance.
I own an Leeco Le X600 phone and up until next week it was working fine.
A new marshamallow came out and I updated it gtom lollipop without an issue.
This weekend everything changed.
I wanted to copy some pictures to my computer so I plugged the USB cable and nothing happened.
The phone vibrated but didnt recognize the usb connection nor the computer recognized the phone.
I decided to reboot the phone hoping that would fix the problem when I first encountered the problem
The phone would boot to the logo screen and then reboot again in a continuous loop.
I tried to get into recovery mode thinking that I would reinstall the firmware 15s but the logo would show Recovery but it would just reboot.
I finally figured out that plugging the USB cable to either the computer or charger the phone then reboots normally (in recovery too).
I have since done factory resets, reinstalls of the firmware with no change in behaviour.
The phone was unusually warm all the time and today I charged it to 100% and basically just let it sit unplugged without using it all day and the battery was empty in about 7 hours.
So its safe to say that the battery is busted.
I can order a replacement battery, they are not very expensive but my concern is that while that should fix the battery life would it fix the other problem with the USB connection and booting issue?
When the cable is plugged the phone vibrates which indicates to me that it recognizes it but it just goes into charging mode and doesnt give the options for data like I simply plugged into the charger.
I have tried different cables and different computers.
Anyone has seem anything similar and know if a battery replacement solved the issue?
