I noticed that Japan version of Z5 series (SO-01H, 02H, 03H...) have Separated mobile data icon and signal strength bar icon, can other version of Z5 do the same thing by editing specific file (ex. build.prop ...)?

I'm using the EE uk MM .183 firmware and it has separated icons. No obvious branding that I've seen so could flash that.

[Q] Looking to replace my "4g" icon on stock with an "H" or "H+"
Read title. My carrier (unlocked device) doesn't call its hspa network 4g, I see no reason why my phone should. All I can find are icons packs that do the opposite.

Not sure about other roms, but CM7 still has the H icon inside the SystemUI.apk

All you have to do is copy them out of the apk, change th h to a 4g, and put them back in the apk. No need for decompiling or anything crazy, just drag and drop. Full path is /SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-hdpi/
If you're on stock though I don't know if it's odexed or not or if that would even mater. Make sure you do a nandbackup prior to messing with it and you should be good.
Mobile data "H" mark appears over my signal bars although mobile data is disabled.
Hello, After successfully trying to root my Z3 Dual 5.1.1.
the new pre-rooted stockrom had something weird in the status bar, it is that the signal bars always has the mobile data "H" sign although mobile data is disabled.
Is it a visual bug ? or it is not visual and is draining battery and keeping the data online 24/7 ?
My original region is MENA Egypt, but the prerooted rom is Brazil.
Thank you,
TL;DR : Mobile data disabled, But the "H" mark is still up there at the signal bars.
My S7 is only showing the '3G' icon in the status bar, even if I am using HSPA/HSUPA, etc. This is annoying, as I like to be able to see exactly what I'm using, rather than just 3G.
The phone is running Superman Rom 1.16, but has done it with previous versions also. On stock, I had H & H+ icons.
I believe this is CSC related (I'm using my carriers CSC in order to get VoLTE) so is anyone able to tell me how to adjust the CSC to enable the additional icons?
Thanks
It is csc related, I use the telus csc and its displays LTE, H+ and H for data connections.

Thanks. I'll try comparing the CSC's to see what's different between OPS and Telus, and try and fix mine so it shows how I want...
It could be the csc or the sim setting connection.
I begin by apologizing if it is not the correct place to post.
I have a problem, I have a smartphone orro and it appears the 2G / 3G incone next to the network signal. Even if I activate the mobile data, also appear the signal above the network signal, as usual: H + or 3G.
I wanted to remove those large icons that appear next to the network signal, thus leaving only the traditional icons to appear on the network icon.
Look at the image in the gdrive.

The android version is 5.1.
Thank you. :highfive:
If the option is not available in your device settings you'll need an external tool. Browse the app store for a status bar editor and if you want to dive deep you certainly do it with root.
Hello! I'm in search of a signal manipulation app, if one even exists.
Why? I don't have a sim card in my phone, so I'd like to have the signal bars show me a "placebo" cellular signal strength. Is this possible to do without masking the icon?
I know that phones that have the status-bar demo mode shows the cellular signal as full/or sometimes empty, so is it possible to have an app control what signal icon is shown on it's own, so that I don't have to see the "No SIM" icon or an empty signal?
(NOTE: I have disabled the "No SIM" icon under System UI Tuner, but it doesn't feel right without cellular signal bars being there.)
