1 common PTAV 4 large official firmware version through the brush! That is what version you brush what version. Official system can be updated , this is terrible.
This means that you buy 935p, you can brush to 935t, you can brush into 935v, but also painted 935a.
System in the brush to 935t and 935a when 2 networks , telecommunications no signal (and maybe the telecom operators estimate lock band), while 935p and 935v three Netcom .

2 mobile the perfect support 4g , I also took the US version of the US version 935p 928p 9350 Hong Kong version of the whole network 4g, three to test, there is no place in the mobile 4g 928p, 935p and 9350 mobile 4g are perfect.
This fully exclude the impact of this pit father B41 band, it proved the perfect band mobile 4G (but: US version mobile 3g bands)
Incidentally:
Unicom 4g is perfect, a band of non-B41. .
Telecom 4g Internet can be normal, but the text messages and phone seems to be some problems. It is said that after the break is available, the need to restore the factory after new cracks, the solid Conservative Telecom said to 3G.

3 BL lock, this appeared on the US version of all versions
, we often hear can brush machine: SPRINT P version and Tmobile T version, also locked.
What BL lock Representative: root can not brush third party rom, only official upgrade in the future to crack depends.
Fortunately, however, the official 6.0 system can each brush, you can brush into the T or V Edition version of the system relatively clean point, useless and then custom software and Google family bucket ban, system life can be guaranteed.
Officially banned this is actually very consistent with the needs of white: does not affect the upgrade, do not toss the brush, not afraid of brick, the key is cheaper

It's NOT a surprise that the 930T, 930A, 930V or 930P can flash firmware from each other. What people are interested in is to flash unlocked bootloader firmware or at least get root. If people in China are flashing US firmware to Chinese variants 9300 to get more bands, then the Chinese discovers a rooting method, that would be interesting too.

Confused in Note Edge Variants NxxxY / SM-Nxxx

Hello,
Thread title says it all.
Can someone be so kind to make a list of all the note edge variants and highlight the technical differences / regions / carrier affinity (like Snapdragon or Qualcomm). As far as I know from various sources following variants exist
SM-N915FY for Europe
SM-N915A for AT&T
SM-N915T for T-Mobile
SM-N915K/SM-N915L/SM-N915S for Korea
SM-N915G for Singapore, Australia, Spain
SM-N915D for Japan
Samsung Exynos 5 Octa 5433 (South Korea version)
Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (Global version)
1. Is it true that , there are no custom ROMs and root for Snapdragon based variants.
2. Which variants are based on Snapdragon / which on Exynos
3. Which one is usually called the global variant.
4. Is it true mods and custom ROMs are now variant locked and cannot be used interchangeably on all the variants.
I am asking because I have a variety of devices available in my market in new and used condition, some of which are new and some imported from other countries and regions.
So just wanna make sure I buy the correct one instead of regretting afterwards.
Thank for reading and your reply.
1+ Me too SM-N915FY for Europe ?? ATT LTE?
I have similar question - will SM-N915FY for Europe work on ATT LTE - the whole bands thing I have looked at has not helped - I do not seem to understand what bands - LTE are essential. Does anyone know?
Thanks.
If you have physical access to all these different variants then the best way is to type #*2263# in the dialer.
That will give you service mode info as following:

Then you can tap on each band and you'll have the following:
Asterisk means it's enabled (you can disable if you wish)
Ps. These screens are from my SM-N915G
Hope this helps...

How to change the network mode?

I live in Sri Lanka. I was able to get an unlocked AT&T G4 (H810) from USA and have used it for a few days now. I have realised that there is no option to change network modes. There is only the 4G mode on my G4 and its killing the battery. Tried changing my sim, updating the software etc. but no luck. Any method to fix this?

The AT&T software blocks it

So rooting it and installing a different firmware version (most probably h810pr) is the only option?

Yes, but you dont root to install a different firmware version. Also its NOT recommended to do so unless you soft brick, as some its bricked there devices.

Yeah I've heard it's risky.. I'll just buy a battery bank.. pretty cheap over here
THANKS!
I believe the reason why you are unable to turn off just LTE is because the US versions do not have separate 3G/CDMA + LTE radios. They are all in one now. Unlike older models where you could disable the LTE/4G radio and just use 3G only. I do not think this is possible now.
Plus Carriers prefer you to use their 4G networks because it is cheaper and frees up the old 3G spectrum for emergencies and SMS, etc.
Don't quote me on this but this what I gathered.
If you install xposed you can use the Intelli3g module to switch to 3g.
I have used it on my G4 as I work in an area with strong LTE signal but horrible bandwidth. In that area, 3g is faster than the LTE

Does the US Unlocked Note 20 Ultra (N986U1) pyhsically support two sims?

Hello, I'm trying to clear something up once and for all, I bought a dual sim tray off amazon for my US Unlocked Note 20 Ultra, put two sims in it and inserted it in the phone. However absolutely nothing different happened, only the bottom sim (1) was recognized. I am wondering if the US Note 20 does not physically support two sims (or is these some trick to enable it in software, rooted or not)? If anyone knows for sure, please let me know!
Also on eSim functionality, I am able to get into the CSC menu but it only shows US codes, currently it looks like mine is set to TMB (despite it being unlocked straight from samsung), why do I not have any options for eSim (TMB is supposed to I think)?
Nope, only 1 Sim supported, pretty sure it doesn't have the hardware for two physical sims. Also even though you have T-Mobile csc on your unlocked, you need to flash T-Mobile firmware to use esim. (Essentially turning your U1 into a U. esim won't work on unlocked firmware.

Alright, thanks for the info on this!
This is hilarious.
I bought the 20 because it was widely advertised to have dual sim card support, which I want/need as E-sim is .. well, not really available yet.
So, all the advertisements for the phone everywhere list it as a dual sim card phone, but its not.
GG samsung. ffs. I'd have bought the standard note 20.
Only reason to keep the 20 ultra is the sim card support.
Which even then, the phone handles like crap.
The eSIM has finally been turned on for the unlocked Note 20 Ultra on UI 4.0 beta.

Question T Mobile version

I got the unlocked version from the google store to use on Mint (T Mobile mvno). It does not connect to UC which I figured it wouldn't considering only the Verizon variant has mmWave. However, I went to the T Mobile store and tested their 6a variant and it did connect to mmWave UC, speed test over 500mbs. So I'm curious if loading the T Mobile rom on an unlocked phone would support it.
I purchased the unlocked version, and I get 5GUC on TMobile. But I don't think that it is mmwave
Ok, I see T-Mobile also refers to their n41 (2.5GHz) 5G as Ultra Capacity

Yep. That's exactly what it is!

I have the 6a bought from a T-Mobile store (well, mailed from T-Mobile as they didn't have sage in stock). I see 5GUC in some places in Ann Arbor, but don't see DL speeds over about 150....
Out in the wild, I never see over 150 either. However, in the T-Mobile store, I get UC and over 400. I have a theory they have one of those personal cell things in the store. I'm in the Cleveland area. I turn off 5G for the most part, it keeps the phone cooler and helps with battery life.
I'm betting that the 5G UC symbol is for native T-Mobile, not MVNOs. If you see Mint Mobile in your indicator, it just says "5G".
I believe only Verizon shows "Verizon" even if a MVNO is used. Most carriers show the MVNO name if one is used, and avoid the branded indicators.
You are right. Even though the band is the same, only the T-Mobile sim displays UC. Found a good video explaining the differences.
I have 2 questions related to T-Mobile and Google purchased phone. I am on T-Mobile and have the default build.
1. Is there anything to be gained or loss by flashing the newer T-Mobile B1 build vs default B1 build?
2. Does flashing to T-Mobile B1 build exclude me from the Android 13 Beta program?

Mint Mobile SERIOUS Android issue, ANDROID SECURITY UPDATES

If you own an unlocked phone, there is something you should be aware of before choosing Mint Mobile as a carrier (this may apply to any carrier that uses a major carrier's network rather than their own).
Mint Mobile supplies no software or Android updates (unless possibly if you purchased your unlocked phone from Mint Mobile).
I purchased my unlocked Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G used. The prior owner was on the Verizon network. I used the AT&T network, which put all the AT&T "bloatware" on my phone.
When I switched to Mint Mobile, all the AT&T software remained and cannot be uninstalled (other than by a factory data reset). My phone still boots with the AT&T logo, despite using Mint now.
The Google Play store is forcing an update to AT&T SIGN-IN HELPER - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.att.csoiam.mobilekey, an app I do not want or need. I am FAR from the only one facing this issue, if you read the reviews for that app.
My Note20 Ultra 5G is on Android 13, the last scheduled Android version for this model. However, I just discovered that I have not bern receiving monthly Android security updates since switching to Mint, because the phone still contacts AT&T to receive them, despite the fact that I no longer have AT&T as a carrier.
Mint Mobile support is aware of this and has no resolution.
Now my question... is there a safe way for me to manually install Android security updates on my non-rooted phone?
(Attempting to update on the phone always says "interrupted" now. The help option sends me to AT&T . Samsung support suggests I take my out of warranty phone to a service center )

AT&T shows Android security updates for my phone model that are dated later than Nov 1, 2022 (my last update), but they can only be installed on the AT&T network, so I am kinda screwed at this point. My current Mint Mobile contact only has about a month left, I might need to switch to a major carrier just to get the Android security updates.
