Battery life: CM13 vs Stock Rom - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I would like to know if battery life is better with CM13 nightly or with stock rom MM? I'm not sure but it seems to be better with stock rom MM.
Someone has made any test about this?
Thanks.

My battery from today. Some browsing, forum jumping, light gaming, reading ebooks, a few texts. This is pure stock, unrooted MM 6.0.

I thought it could be better with stock

On cm13, By the end of a 17-18 hour day I am usually about 50-40% remaining... Very moderate use though... Emails, texts, a few calls and browsing news and Facebook... Very few games. I have not had stock mm, but cm13 and others give me plenty of life through the day.

Hossman do you have a screenshot of your battery stats that shows screen on time?

Meh... I have gotten 9hr 20min screen time over 19 hours with 50/50 mobile data usage, mixed usage, on stock MM 6.0. Nothing special, everything enabled and syncing, including using BT headset and location services fully enabled.
Not sure how CM does, but in most Moto's it isn't as well as stock due to very tight optimizations done by Moto, for most people battery life is reduced by as much as 25%, but some people get near stock battery life but I am not really sure how.
Note that average per complete charge numbers are a bit low because I am often at at least 50% when it goes on the charger at night.

Battery life

I'm currently running das bamf 4.9 I want to know which radio give u good battery life for that rom
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
None of them. BAMF's battery life was so horrible I switched to Liquid Thundersense. Battery life almost doubled.
Battery life is a combination of Radio, Location, ROM, Kernel, Kernel settings, Applications, Use..etc etc...
There is no magic combination. Try things out, monitor the battery consumption, and find out what works best for you.
I am using BAMF without issues after I reset my battery stats.
I was having similar issues to some where I would lose 2% within a half hour of unplugging my Tbolt, and then be down to 10% remaining after 12 hours with light use!
I am rooted, so I don't know if there is a way to do this stock, but I recently did this which has drastically improved battery life to where I am down to only 82% after 6 hours of moderate use (calls, Angry Birds, YouTube).
Fully charge your phone
While still on the charger, I rebooted into recovery and reset/wiped my battery stats
Used the phone heavily to get it almost dead
When the phone auto shuts off near death, I booted into recovery
Leave phone alone to fully die as recovery leaves the screen on and doesn't turn off
After phone dies, fully charge again before use
After doing this, my battery life was greatly improved. Nothing else changed.
I get terrible battery life with Bamf as well. Just rooted about a month ago and have only tried two roms. Bamf and currently tuning Synergy

How is syenery battery life
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
A lot better than stock and Bamf. I'm a pretty heavy user and was only getting maybe 8 hours... Getting around 12 -14 now. Had Pandora going for about 3 hours straight this morning off full charge and still had 70%.

Impressive Battery Life?

Hey everyone, I have now had my Nexus S for 3 days and have loved every minute of it.
One of the things that has surprised me is the battery life. Check it out:

I still have 39% battery after two days! This is really amazing I think. Granted I only had 2 phone calls in that time but I have been texting a lot and playing around with settings.
How long does your battery last and do you have any tips on improving battery life?
I am running CM7.1 with Go Launcher Ex and have the brightness set on very low plus I don't use screen orientation switch either.
What is your screen on time?

Even if thats just ideling that beats my evo which would be done in thr early evening with no use

I use matr1x kernel wich has the best batterylife for me, but i still have to recharge every day...
Sent from my Google Nexus S using XDA App
I run it completely stock and unrooted, and get about a day with average use. By far the best smart phone I have owned.
Matrix or Trinity seem to give the best battery life.

Sorry I don't know how to find screen on time.
I put my phone on charge after 2 days 22 hours and it was still on 19% but I charged it to be safe because I am expecting a very important phone call.
Calculating data regarding battery stats using morfic TEUV-S22-05102011, you could reach around 80 hours with cell connected but having very little activity.
Same place as that pic but click on display that will have shown display on time
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Ok I found it, it says 3hours 24min and 10s.
wow.... 3h 24min display time and still 39% battery? amazing.

How did u do the screen shot unrooted?
That's still impressive battery life.
For the people on matrix or trinity kernel, how long is your battery lasting you off charger? And how heavy of a user are you? Just curious been messing around trying to get it over a day :/

[Q] Phone got up to 48 °C while charging, and other battery issues

Kinda worried this will happen again. It has never happened before. Looking at my charging stats, it was on full charge for about 5 hours. It was charging abnormally hot, like at 38 to 40.
Should I be worried? Is there a fix?
Also, I would like to mention that after flashing back to stock and OTA-ing to 4.0.4, my battery life has been piss poor, doing the same stuff as I did before. It barely holds its charge throughout the day, even if I did half as much before I reverted to stock. Is this normal, or should I run a battery calibration tool?
Thanks!
Take a look at the battery guide I wrote up in the stickies from the General Section, the third post has a charging trick also that might help if you're getting battery reporting errors. Have you wiped battery stats after flashing? Also, I'm on the 1st leak ICS (or was, now on CM10), and my battery life is great...

It definitely looks miscalibrated, after looking at your post. I didn't wipe my battery profile after flashing, so that's probably the reason.
I don't have CWM, but the battery calibration app seems like it wipes the file, as long as their Market description is accurate. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration)
Should this still work?

Yes, a battery calibration app from Google Play will work just fine for wiping battery stats...

[Q] Abnormal (?) battery life

I'm using Cyanogenmod 11 M5 on a D820 32GB. Lately I've noticed that idle battery life is not as it should be; I got frustrated enough last night that I wiped everything and left it sitting. Battery started at 82% and dropped to 63% with about 15min of SOT::

This doesn't feel right; as I recall from when the phone was new (and as I have seen others talking about), standby time is supposed to be great. Is this normal?
I'm flashing stock right now; I'll see if that helps.

Show us some BBS logs. Most likely CM issue though. More precisely, the CM kernel. But without BBS, it's just speculation.

Okay. I'll try this with stock Android and see what happens. If it's not better, I'll post BBS logs for it too.
I also think it's CM's fault, and if this happens with stock as well, you may have a faulty battery.
I usually get 1 hour SOT/20%, give or take 10 minutes.
I can get this with my usage patterns, obviously this is going to change (for better or worse) depending on how you use and configure your phone.

Awesome as in how long?
At any rate, after totally paving my device the drain seems to be better on M5. Not sure what the issue is/was.

Terrible Battery Life on Comparison to Others. Suggestions?.

WTF is going on with my battery? I have the S7 Flat snapdragon version (G930v) running the G930u software unrooted which removes all carrier bloat. Screen brightness is set to a little past half way. I have all setting provided by stock software optimized for maximum battery life other than running AOD. I am running a black Wallpaper/Lockscreen/ and an All black theme from the Theme Engine.. Wth hell is going on here. My battery time is looking Rediculous in comparison. Someone help me out here.

I feel asleep around 3am I guess with 89% and woke up just now close to 11. Heres battery over that 8hr period. 5% during that time. Standby drain is not bad it seems. But only 10hrs on 100% is crazy low compared to what some of you guys are getting.
End of Trial:
What can I do to get this increased.?

Is the same problem present with the phones original firmware? What you call bloat may very well be needed adaptions.
Urs is mutch better the what i get, mine drains 40% over night ..
My battery today.
Auto brightness and location on power saving.
Aod off.
