[Resolved] Problem with installing OpenGApps and CM13 - General Questions and Answers

Hey
I'm facing a problem with CM13 and i was wondering if anyone can help ..
Here is what happened;
Yesterday I updated my software and didn't notice that it was updating from CM12.1 to CM13
After installing the update it started giving errors similar to "Google Play Services has stopped" bla bla bla
So I said maybe I should flash new compatible GApps
I downloaded OpenGApps arm-6.0 and installed it, it went smooth
When I restarted into the system it was worse! more and more errors with even black home screen
So I wiped the cache/dalvik/system and decided to install them fresh
It went fine, finished optimizing apps then out of nowhere it rebooted and stuck on the Cyanogen loading animation
While searching I found this; github.com/opengapps/opengapps/wiki/Notes-for-Android-6.0
It mentions that I have to download a certain patch -Which isn't found in AOSP ROMs- to prevent force closures at first boot
I'm not sure if I need that for CM13 or not and also I don't know how am I supposed to compile that patch with the rom?
TLDR; Problem with installing OpenGApps and CM13, wiping cache/dalvik didn't fix
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

google play services causing problems on 4.4

I have tried cyanogen 11, and Lungo, and on both of those 4.4 ROMs I get an error after installing google play services. As soon as I install those, my keyboard reports an error, or my call app mallfunctions. Sometimes the whole rom crashes.
Could someone please pinpoint the problem for me, as I have tried latest TWRP and CWR recoveries to install the ROMs, cleaned every part of the phone before installing, and nothing seems to fix this problem.
ATTM, I'm on Lungo, and it worked perfectly till I updated google play with this crap.
Have you installed the current gapps for cm11? I think that could be the problem.
If the rom is 4.4.3 you need 4.4.3 gapps

SystemUi FC

Hello. I've been having problems trying to install any CM based rom for the last couple of months. My daily driver is the CM 11 M9 rom by percy (which is the last cyanogenmod rom I was able to install without any problem), but whenever install any other rom, I have the "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped" loop, right after the device goes to sleep for the very first time.
I don't have any idea why this is happening. I've tried with both cwm and twrp, just in case my recovery was messing up the process. I'm worried that when a stable CM12 comes out I won't be able to use it because of this problem. Any help would be appreciated!
Got that Problem too..

Various errors with SlimRom gapps on Moto G4

Hi,
I have a new Moto G4 runnning Slim-athene-6.0.1.build.1.11-WEEKLY-20161111-1135.
I am trying to get my apps installed and running without error and experiencing one setback after the next, see attachment. Installing gapps along with the rom and I can't get passed the setup stage. Installing the rom, rebooting then installing the current gapps and the keyboard does not work.
The closest I have got to being up and running is installing prior version of the gapps Slim_minimal_gapps.4.4.3.build.5.8-60.zip. However once this is installed my apps won't run and prompt me to install Google Play Services, and once I do that I get constant errors that Google Play Services has stopped working and the phone is practically useless. I have read clearing the cache for the app fixes this, but not for me.
Anybody managed to beat this?

Camera and Flashlight error in LineageOS 17.1 osprey

So I had installed the latest lineageOS version ( 17.1, android 10, osprey moto g3) from the official website and flashed it correctly, but after some time, I noticed that the torch icon was greyed out in the status bar and any camera app won't work.
The app showed- "Camera stopped working"
Cleared cache, app info, rebooted the phone but nothing seemed to work.
I thought that flashing the ROM again would fix it, I redownloaded the latest lineageOS version, new GApps, and flashed it in the correct way( first wipe then flash), but the issue came back after a few reboots.
So I rebooted again and it got fixed, but I think the issue might spring back.
Is there any fix for this?

Hello members,
Last week i'v also installed the latest lineageOS version ( 17.1, android 10) Gapps nano, on my Samsung A3 2017. With the TWRP tool., Nice ROM!
Unfortionally with the same issue as above, Samsung and other camera app's very often not working, need to reboot to fix that.
The flashlight does not work either then, and much more irritating BlueTooth not working anymore, my A3 always had perfect connection with my Parrot carkit CK3100.
I'v found in several forum some workarounds for this but these do not solve the issues long enough.
But the issues are also found in older releases from LineageOS.
Will there be a update for these mentioned 3 issues?
If not, i need to install another ROM which is not based on LineageOS.
The Cam and BT must work without any problems.
Thank you very much.
Frank.
