Camera and Flashlight error in LineageOS 17.1 osprey - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I had installed the latest lineageOS version ( 17.1, android 10, osprey moto g3) from the official website and flashed it correctly, but after some time, I noticed that the torch icon was greyed out in the status bar and any camera app won't work.
The app showed- "Camera stopped working"
Cleared cache, app info, rebooted the phone but nothing seemed to work.
I thought that flashing the ROM again would fix it, I redownloaded the latest lineageOS version, new GApps, and flashed it in the correct way( first wipe then flash), but the issue came back after a few reboots.
So I rebooted again and it got fixed, but I think the issue might spring back.
Is there any fix for this?

Hello members,
Last week i'v also installed the latest lineageOS version ( 17.1, android 10) Gapps nano, on my Samsung A3 2017. With the TWRP tool., Nice ROM!
Unfortionally with the same issue as above, Samsung and other camera app's very often not working, need to reboot to fix that.
The flashlight does not work either then, and much more irritating BlueTooth not working anymore, my A3 always had perfect connection with my Parrot carkit CK3100.
I'v found in several forum some workarounds for this but these do not solve the issues long enough.
But the issues are also found in older releases from LineageOS.
Will there be a update for these mentioned 3 issues?
If not, i need to install another ROM which is not based on LineageOS.
The Cam and BT must work without any problems.
Thank you very much.
Frank.

[Q] Cannot connect to camera for d2lte

I have 2 of the same phones (i747M with twrp 2.7.1 for d2att installed)
On one, everything worked flawlessly (the older one)
On the other, I had to talk to a developer of twrp to get twrp working...
Now I just realized that the camera app isn't working. It works fine when I restore to the touchwiz stock rom.
I tried wiping my entire device before installing the new stable build 6 rom for d2lte. I also tried flashing the weekly roms for that device on both phones
the result is the same: camera works fine on the older phone while on the newer one, it doesn't
Someone suggested that this might be a hardware issue.. Basically, the TWRP guys fixed my other problem by pulling the latest cyanogenmod build and compiling a recovery. -So I'm wondering if something can be done to make my camera work again on my new phone...
(Before all of this, I of course tried rebooting, closing other apps, clearing data, etc...)
Update: I tried flashing the latest cyanogenmod nightly (June 30) and the camera app worked, but I prefer slimrom
Another update: all the bug report shows when I reproduce the error is
Device: Slim-d2lte-4.4.4.build.6-OFFICIAL-5242
Kernel: 3.4.95-cyanogenmod-gd56ed95 [email protected] #1

Issues with latest CM nightly

HI,
i've installed the latest nightly (cm-12.1-20160822-NIGHTLY-xt925) for the xt925 and gapps. It was running fine so far but after a while it starts crashing during boot or "optimizing apps" and it starts over again. This happens usually after installing updates from the playstore. My guess is that streetcomplete or mapillary might cause this issue (not sure the clock app crashed often too).
So my question is, has anyone else issues with the latest nightly and found a fix?
Are there any other ROMS available? I couldn't find a lineageos Rom.
I am able to reinstall and i think it will work again buts that no solution if i can't update apps.
I'm not sure which bootloader it currently uses. It has the cyanogenmod recovery installed and wiping Cache didn't resolve the issue.
Thx

For some reason all the official nightlies i have tried have this issue, some cant even make it past the setup screen. I guess something bad ended up in the sources.
Its not maintained anymore for our devices but one of the best CM12 builds in my experience was Mokee OS. You can run the builds for the Photon Q (xt897) just make sure its the old one- i recall having issues with the more recent builds.
Personally though i have moved on to the Nougat builds. I'm currently running the builds for the xt907 and they work fine with my xt926. The crDroid build seems to be the most stable - https://forum.xda-developers.com/dr.../crdroid-3-8-nougat-xt907-xt905-jbbl-t3697571 The only requirements are you must be running the JBBL and the TWRP version for the XT907 (its linked in the ROMs thread instructions). You also need to format your data and cache partitions as F2FS.

OnePlus One - Lineage 16 - no NFC (Bug)

I think this is a bug.
Sorry if posting in the wrong spot. I wasn't clear from the dev instructions if the idea was to post there only if you ARE a dev/working on dev, or if it just meant dev-related. Anyhoo...
I upgraded my OPO to the newest Lineage 16 ROM, and for the most part, quite pleased. I think the NFC does not work though.
I use Google Pay, and I made sure by loading my Lineage 15.1 TWRP backup and tested--works fine (Root disabled from the settings necessary).
When I upgraded, I cleared caches, etc..., installed Lineage 16, then flashed the open gapps, then flashed Magisk. I installed the Magisk Manager app, then proceeded to try adding my cards back to Google Pay.
At first, despite SafetyNet passing, it did not work. However, after setting Magisk to Core Only mode, I was able to add my cards back in.
However, if I try to actually hold the phone up to a pay terminal, nothing happens, not even a denial...no vibration--nothing. I think, since I was able to add the cards successfully, and because it works in Lineage 15.1, that there's a problem with the new ROM and NFC in general. If it gave me the red !, I'd suspect root/Magisk, but it did nothing.
NFC should be fixed since today's build. Try updating your OS.
Has the NFC been fixed? Can't seem to find an answer. Don't want to update from 15 till it is.

[SOLVED]Problems with LineageOS 16 - Charging, configuration and gmail

I have just installed LineageOS 16 on my phone after I thought it crashed.
Waas the volumebutton that got stuck. Had LineageOS 15.1 before.
Now to the things I need help with
1. When I used version 15.1 I had to use a custom kernel to even be able to charge the phone when it's on.
it's the same problem here. Is there any custom kernel for version 16? [Seems to be SOLVED]
2. Preparing setup wont finish after installing gapps. Just says: "Preparing for setup... You can finish seeting up your a0001 soon. [SOLVED]
3. Gmail wont sync so I cant see my messages. [SOLVED]
I hope someone can help me with this three problems.
Sorry if it has been asked before.
Problem two and three did I solve by reinstalling LineageOS and using opengapps instead of mindthegapps.
But I do still need help with the charging problem.
*UPDATE*
It seems that the charching problem got solved after the latest nightly build update.
I hope it stays that way.
So everything seems to have been solved.

Recent strange experience with this device

I have a Moto G3 XT1543 and since december I have given this device a second life and have been using it as a secondary phone. I decided to install LOS 14.1 because I feel is better for this device than LOS 17.1. Since then I had been using the phone and installing the updates without problems until a few weeks ago.
I thought I couldn't install the update because my version of TWRP was so out of date. So I decided to install the latest version for this device (twrp-3.5.2_9-0) and I was able to update the rom but it got me a lot of bugs, basically forced close in many processes.
So I decided to do a clean installation but still had a lot of bugs. So I installed previous versions of the rom, including the first one that I installed and worked fine, but it still had a lot of bugs (basically forced close in many processes, as I said before).
So I decided to go back to the TWRP I had before (twrp-3.4.0-0) and the bugs disappeared and I was able to use the rom without problems, but no matter what I do I cannot get youtube working now.
The gapps that I have been installed are open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-xxxxxxxx and I have done all the possible combinations: old gapps with the most recent rom (lineage-14.1-20210829-UNOFFICIAL-osprey), the most recent gapps with the oldest rom I have (lineage-14.1-20201221-UNOFFICIAL-osprey), the oldest rom I have with old gapps and the most recent rom with the most recent gapps, but youtube still doesn't work
As I said before, it doesn't matter what combination I do, even the first one I installed and worked since last december, nor what version of YouTube I have installed, the application closes. As a possible solution I have deleted cache and data of youtube but the problem still. The funny thing is all the applications that I have, including other google apps (chrome, gmail, maps) work without problem.
I have tried alternatives like YT Go, YT Vanced and New Pipe and all three work without problem, but honestly, although they are better alternatives, I don't want to use them.
So does anyone know how to fix this?
I used this weekend for testing and long story short I can use youtube but I have no idea how it was fixed.
But I will tell you about everything I did in case someone in the future is going through a similar situation to mine.
Following the indications that FNetV1 gave me in another post, I downgraded my TWRP version to 3.0.2-r5, then I installed the oldest rom I have (lineage-14.1-20201221) with the oldest gapps I have (open_gapps-arm-7.1-pico-20210112) but youtube was not working.
So with that same version of TWRP I installed the most recent rom available (lineage-14.1-20210829) with the most recent gapps and still youtube did not work.
So I installed the latest unofficial version that Squid2 developed for this device (twrp-osprey-3.2.3-r1) and then installed the oldest rom I have with the oldest gapps I have. The result was the same, youtube was not working.
I thought the problem was the gapps, so I installed the latest rom available with the most recent gapps but now with the Nano package. But the result was the same, youtube was not working.
So I gave up and for the last time I reinstalled the latest rom avaible with the most recent gapps, again with the pico package and as expected youtube was not working.
The funny thing is after I finished setting up my phone, I restarted it, reinstalled YouTube and voilĂ , I can now use YouTube without any problem.
As I said at the beginning, I have no idea how the problem was fixed, especially because I also rebooted my phone on several occasions with the previous tests.
So if anyone has an idea what I did wrong from the beginning or how the problem was fixed, feel free to comment.
