Disassembled/reassembled phone, headphone buttons won't work - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

[TL;DR - opened my phone using screwdriver down the headphones hole to pop open the back cover, reassembled everything, must've bent one of the connectors inside the headphones hole, bent it back, sound is OKAY, mic+buttons is NOT]
Hi all!
I just opened up and reassembled my OPO to change my microphone and battery (both works perfectly fine, wooo!)
After the reassembly, I stuck my regular earpieces in the headphone slot of the phone, and I noticed a piece of metal was sticking out from the side, inside the slot (it went horizontally across the hole, about 3mm down).
I just pushed my earpices down slowly, and it just.. bent down easily and made room. I got sound in my earpices, and I could skip songs / change volume using them, as I always could.
However, when I was walking home from work, I noticed that the buttons didn't work anymore - I couldn't skip songs, adjust volume, nothing. They still won't work :/
I opened up the phone again to see if something was broken, but it -seems- okay; No dust, no broken pieces, but I dunno.. The headphone slot feels "firmer" than it used to be as well, but it plays audio just fine. It's just the buttons that annoys me.
NOTE: When I removed the back cover, I stuck a tiny screwdriver down the headphones hole and jerked it lightly backwards for the cover to pop open.
Here's a crappy MSpaint image on how it looks:

There are two small golden "dots" inside on the right (when keeping your screen facing you) and the bottom. On the left side is the golden "rod" that stuck out when I inserted the earpieces. There's a small crack just above where the rod starts, dunno if it's damaged or supposed to be that way.

Thank you!

Sticky Stylus?

Ranomly, my stylus won't "slide" into the slot smoothly. It gets half way in and then a lot of pressure is required to push it all the way down. I took the battery out and used a flash light to see any obstructions, but I can't see anything. Am I missing something?
I've just started having the same problem. The stylus gets very tight in it's slot, hard to push in, and even harder to pull out.
I would love to hear if anyone has found the cause of this.

Yeah, it's a real BEYOTCH to pull out. (that's what she said)
I figured out the cause of this when it happened to me a few weeks back.
Take a look at your stylus, you will notice that the plastic end cap can/has pulled(s) away very slightly from the metal base. This, less than a millimeter change, causes it to get caught on the stylus sensor within the holster.
Solution :
Try your backup stylus and see if that slides in fine. That is what worked for me.
No amount of playing with the sensor seemed to fix it.
This happened to me my first week of having the Raphael. It was due to some build up of plastic, or bent plastic at the end of the slot. To fix it I took my stylus and kind of rotated it pushing it outwards along the sides of the stylus slot.

Humm, none of this is working for me. I'm going to try my other stylus, but I'm not sure. I took a bright flashlight and shined it down in the slot and I can't see anything stopping the sytlus from going in smoothly.
there might be the switch for the stylus come out.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=432014&page=2
maybe that will help?
Yeah, my stylus is getting stuck too within the first week of getting it. I can see where the sensor is supposed to come out, but it doesn't look like there is anything there, so why would it still be getting stuck?

Keyboard hardware sliding sound /problem

First of all I'm not talking about the sound the phone makes when you slide it out. As in the software one, the when that only works if the phone is on.
There's a window on the back of the phone which you can slide only if the keyboard is out. Look at the picture.

When I slide the keyboard out, the section of plastic seems to grip and so it will make a clicking sound when it springs back to cover the insides. Look at picture
The window wont slide into place when I slide the keyboard out. It just stays there until the spring has enough force to pull it, which makes a loud click *shhhk
Does anyone know how to fix this?
bump. please
Pretty sure that the spring is actually supposed to be connected to that piece of plastic - I moved mine a little bit with my keyboard open; looks like this is just a protector for the ribbon cable.
Perhaps since you can see the spring in your pic, it's come loose somehow? Sorry I don't have any further insight - perhaps someone who has replaced a screen / keyboard may have further insight.
The spring on mine is connected to the piece of plastic. The problem is the window doesn't slide close when I slide the keyboard out. Instead it stays half open until I slide the keyboard out further, then the window snaps close making a annoying sound.
On your phone if you slide the window back can you see the spring?
I'm sorry to bump again. but this is really annoying me.
Can anyone else take a picture of that window when they force it open, as in slid it with your finger.
Also when you slide it out can you ever see the window open at all.
I don't think that's normal what you're experiencing, the not sliding till it's all the way open thing. Call HTC up if it's still under warranty and see what they say. However, mind looks exactly the same if you slide the ribbon protector, you see the spring in mine, but mine looks flat against the ribbon, and curled up tighter than yours is. Mine is a couple months old, perhaps you may have worn the spring loose from usage over time. But the spring shows on mine, albeit flat, and tighter.
Thanks, I bought it off ebay, I dont think its under warranty plus I've already flaSHED IT. I think you're right about the spring.

It simply fits.
Not bad but I cannot stand the hole in the left hand corner!

We call this style the DiamondFlex at TPU-Cases, others simply call it the Diamond Pattern. This look amazing on the phone. We didnt make this style for the G2x, but have made them for numerous other phones. I've never seen a TPU case designed like the one you posted, I'm surprised its able to hold its shape with such a large cutout in the corner. I personally would of done 2 holes in that corner instead of 1. Although we ended up just using 1 hole for the power button since only the Korean model has that corner port anyways.

Yes, this hex pattern looks pretty good. This is a reason why I went for this. Moreover, it simply fits 100%. It's pretty easy to put on but it's not loose at all.
I can live with this "TV antenna" cutout though.
Wondering how this compares: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0050ISVW6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&m=A2HOCXU5SC35JO Obviously this one is solid black, and it doesn't appear to have an antenna cutout.
I just ordered one anyway, hopefully it will work for me.

How to fix unresponding digitizer

So I bought a replacement screen, it became unresponding to touch within a few days. After sending it for a replacement the new one had the same issue right away. This time I desided to give it a go fixing it myself. I'd like to share with you how to fix this problem.
First of all the problem, the touch screen is not responding; its feeling very warm when you turn on your phone on the left down corner. The left down corner is where the screens hardware chip is located.
There are enough video's on youtube how to dissable your phone; so I will skip that part. Remove the screen and continue reading.

Remove the copper carefully, try to keep it in one pieces. Its probably a ground field to keep interferences away.
If you dont want to remove the white plastic frame of your screen, you can cut it carefully for a little. Make sure you cut as less as needed and never cut it completely. Don't cut it near connections.

After remove the copper you see an L shape of components, protected for short circuits by an L shape on the copper plate. These are circled with red.
Then also note there is an arrow on the picture, showing there are more conductors, but these are unprotected! Pressing on the screen cause short-wiring here. Fix it by placing some kind of protector on it ( insulation tape or something like that). Place the copper back and assemble your phone!
Thanks. You have resolved a long standing problem with my 1020, two displays later.
For others:
To insulate those exposed components use the proper stuff. Kapton tape. Google it. Sold by electronics suppliers and on ebay.
Also, look carefully at the circuit board for uninsulated vias. Vias are the small holes that join tracks between layers in the circuit. They look like a small gold circle with a tiny hole in the middle. Cover these too.
Thank you so much ! :good::good:
You are a genius

ISUDAR deck - any experience or root?

I think I bought a clunker of a deck, MTCE / GS in nature.
However, it's complete lack of buttons, SD slots, etc has made rooting to improve it, difficult.
Has anyone had experience with ISUDAR decks? Are there any procedures that can help me get root / xposed onto the stock firmware, so I can fix the UI to add volume control etc?

Finally I've found another ISUDAR owner to compare notes with! I have the exact same model you show except the slightly older 7.1.2 PX3 version with 2Gb. I've had decent success with it except Bluetooth problems using OBD and somewhat flaky success with a 10Hz Bluetooth GPS unit, but always works great with my S7 phone. Other than that works pretty well. I also have plans to sort out a physical knob solution, possibly with Arduino.
Support hasn't been great, but probably typical. The seller finally sent me updated ROM .rar and .zip files yesterday, but gave instructions how to flash using a SD card in the GPS slot.... Obviously there isn't one, so I'm waiting to hear back how they want me to do it.
I found a button inside the small hole on the lower right side of the face plate. Stick a paper clip in there. Short press is mute, medium press will turn the unit off, long press I think will actually reboot. There may be a further press sequence to enter recovery? (To avoid the paperclip route, I made my own button from the head of a small nail leaving only a few mm of the stem. Take the face plate off and insert the nail from the back, this way it's captured once you put the plate back on, the head presses on the soft button inside and the nub sticks out the hole. Seems appropriate quality solution  )
What car are you putting this in, I assume 2005-2008 Porsche?
