Phone not responding to controller? - Mate 8 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, yesterday i bought the mad catz lynx 3. I connected it with my Huawei mate 8, which worked fine.. But the phone does not react to the controller at all. I already updated the drivers of the controller. The Lynx seems to work fine with other phones (eg. Galaxy 6edge). I submitted a ticket too.... What can I do until they respond? Anybody with the same problem? Pls help me! Btw, im new to the forum and i did not know where to post this thread..

Maybe your phone doesn't support controller.

But the ps3 controller (via OTG cable) works..

Would a root help?

[Q] Question about the coby 7015 tablet

I bought one of these for my son for christmas. Dont laugh at it being coby. It is probably the best built product they have ever made. (i know not saying much but still its pretty damn solid). My question is i would like to install snesoid on it so he can play his games. But i would like to be able to use a controller to make it easier to play for him. Would the power A controller work. I know the coby will read a usb keyboard, but dont know if the powera controller acts as a usb keyboard. Any thoughts. I would post a link to the controller but not allowed yet. If you go to power A . c o m its the one under ps3 that has the slide out keyboard. Thanks!!!
Partly answered my own question in the last couple of days. Installed snesoid and it runs very well. Hooked up a keyboard and was able to map the keys, so lack of multitouch is no longer a problem in the games. Can anyone confirm a usb controller working with this or is it only a keyboard. Buying one today but if someone knew that a paticuler brand worked well it would help me thanks!!

[Q] PS3 Controller Support?

I can not get the Moto G to recognize a PS3 Sixaxis controller while its plugged in via usb>OTG.
The same controller allows me to navigate through the launcher on a Nexus 7 connected the same way with nothing else installed and no root. I have also been able to navigate like this on the Moto G with a wired Xbox controller via USB.
I planned on mounting the Moto G on top of a PS3 controller, wired or wireless, has anyone got this working wired, or wireless wile rooted? I haven't rooted yet but will if this works.
I'm sure someone else out there owns a Moto G, PS3 controller, and an OTG cable, if anyone would be willing to give it a quick test I would be very grateful. :/
Ok after some testing I have discovered a few things.
1. The controller show up in the USB host controller app as a PS3 controller.
2. The first LED lights up like it is supposed to when trying to set it up with this app: Sixaxis Enabler
So it appears that apps can see and communicate with the controller to an extent, however I have not been able to use it successfully in anything like dead-trigger or emulators. Is it possible that the communication works but the implementation for it's input just isn't there in the ROM? Does Sixaxis controller have it's own implementation that will fix this if I pair it to Bluetooth?
Edit: 148 views and no reply's... come on guys.

Thanks for the info in your post! I've been trying to get it to work too. I have a question about rooting. I've rooted every android phone I've had up to this point and used Cyanogenmod. However, I really love how the Moto G has great support with rom updates and such. So can I root my Moto G without compromising the rom or any of this support?
No one has a Wii controller to test?
Anyone got PS3 working on Moto G via Bluetooth? I haven't tested yet 'cause I will only buy my Moto G tomorrow.

It´s just a few post back that you can pair it with Moto G, you have to root your device though.
I tried to paur it with my wiimote but as I sooon found out the wiimote is no longer supported since jellybean 4.2. Android developers modified the bluetooth stack and it dosn´t work anymore. AFAIK it doesn´t work on Kitkat either.
I would love to root my moto g right away. There are some minor software annoyances that could be easily fixed, but I´m afraid that I´d lose warranty

Dualshock 3 Bluetooth connectivity

Hello, friends, I was wondering if there is a way to connect the Xperia Z4 Tablet to DS3 joystick using Bluetooth without root. I know that DS3 is not officially supported but maybe you have the solution.
Thank you [emoji2]

If you don't wish to root, I suggest you get something like this instead Telescopic Wireless Bluetooth Game Controller
Hi. I bought usb gamepad sqonyy sqy-862 (dualshock 2 copy), but my tablet z4 dont work with it. I have rooted tablet. Can someone help me?
Maybe with root you can install the ds3 apks the z2 series supports ds3 maybe it can be ported over. I recon it would have been by now but the support for this tablet is terrible not alot of people are developing for it, im tempted to go back to z2 tab because I can have root on locked bl.

Some info would help. You're connecting using a USB-OTG cable? What do you see in Android?

XBox 360 Wired controller with USB OTG adapter

I purchased a UGREEN USB OTG Adapter from Amazon and I'm having some issues with my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ (64GB). USB Thumb drives work fine, but I'm trying to connect an Xbox 360 wired controller and its not working. The controller works great on my older Galaxy S4; I can play a bunch of games and it's awesome, but not on the S6 Edge+. I downloaded a USB app from the Store and it detects it as a "Microsoft Controller". I've seen a video on YouTube that shows it working, so I'm not sure what I can do.
I'd really love to get a UtorCase for the controller and phone, but I want to make sure the controller works before I do.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does your system require IR blaster? If so the S6Edge Plus doesn't have one therefore won't work as a remote. Also since you have a Sprint variant you'll need to post any questions in Sprint threads you'll have a better chance of getting questions answered there. This is an international thread.

I have the Verizon variant with the same issue, I know these phone don't come with the IR blaster but from my slight knowledge that should have nothing to do with using a wired game pad with an On The Go(OTG) cable I've searched everywhere to figure out why my s4 could do what my s6edge+ cannot now. The most I've been able to do is guess that the s6edge+ doesn't support xinput yet I've seen many videos where people are using the 360 controller. I've recently upgraded to Android 6.0.1 my model # is SM-G928V and it seems the problem is still there least for my handset it still doesn't work...
I have the same problem with my internstional model..but im using ps4 controller..i can find it via bluetooth..but noticed button actions are very slow so i tried with OTG and sixxaxis app... my phone just wont find the OTG but only when i want to use a game controller..
After about a week of trying, I have wireless 360 controllers working on my s6 active. I'm using a Microsoft 360 controller receiver and an otg cable. I had to find a legit USB BT Joy Center apk (not the gold version, it kept disconnecting my controller) and then I found an app called Lucky patcher that let me remove the license verification on the app, since it has been abandoned by the developer. No root required! It allows you to keymap, so I can use multiple 360 controllers for emulators (Mario kart tested), and I even used it to play games streaming from my computer with Moonlight.
how you did it
