XBox 360 Wired controller with USB OTG adapter - Galaxy S6 Edge+ Accessories

I purchased a UGREEN USB OTG Adapter from Amazon and I'm having some issues with my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ (64GB). USB Thumb drives work fine, but I'm trying to connect an Xbox 360 wired controller and its not working. The controller works great on my older Galaxy S4; I can play a bunch of games and it's awesome, but not on the S6 Edge+. I downloaded a USB app from the Store and it detects it as a "Microsoft Controller". I've seen a video on YouTube that shows it working, so I'm not sure what I can do.
I'd really love to get a UtorCase for the controller and phone, but I want to make sure the controller works before I do.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Does your system require IR blaster? If so the S6Edge Plus doesn't have one therefore won't work as a remote. Also since you have a Sprint variant you'll need to post any questions in Sprint threads you'll have a better chance of getting questions answered there. This is an international thread.

I have the Verizon variant with the same issue, I know these phone don't come with the IR blaster but from my slight knowledge that should have nothing to do with using a wired game pad with an On The Go(OTG) cable I've searched everywhere to figure out why my s4 could do what my s6edge+ cannot now. The most I've been able to do is guess that the s6edge+ doesn't support xinput yet I've seen many videos where people are using the 360 controller. I've recently upgraded to Android 6.0.1 my model # is SM-G928V and it seems the problem is still there least for my handset it still doesn't work...

I have the same problem with my internstional model..but im using ps4 controller..i can find it via bluetooth..but noticed button actions are very slow so i tried with OTG and sixxaxis app... my phone just wont find the OTG but only when i want to use a game controller..

After about a week of trying, I have wireless 360 controllers working on my s6 active. I'm using a Microsoft 360 controller receiver and an otg cable. I had to find a legit USB BT Joy Center apk (not the gold version, it kept disconnecting my controller) and then I found an app called Lucky patcher that let me remove the license verification on the app, since it has been abandoned by the developer. No root required! It allows you to keymap, so I can use multiple 360 controllers for emulators (Mario kart tested), and I even used it to play games streaming from my computer with Moonlight.

how you did it

android bluetooth game controller

hello everybody
I just finished my project. "a Bluetooth game controller for android"
I took a wii mote and a wii classic controller pro and put the wii mote circuit board inside the classic controller pro with rechargeable batteries.
After a lot of debugging i came to the conclusion that you can’t use any non wii brand extension for the wii controller app.
You can use a non wii brand wii mote for it but no fake extensions will work.
So I used a fake wii mote and a real wii classic controller pro.
here is my youtube video: youtube.com/watch?v=2L-l48vUDYs
sorry for my bad English
Nice mod.
thanks man,
i have an update but i cant post foto's so.
the update is an telefoon holder.
Amazing mod!!! Can you post a tutorial on how to make a wireless classic controller pro?
yes i can but there is to little appreciation for it.
it wil cost me to much time that i dont have now.
sorry
That's sounds great, I think that a USB game controller should be released so we can play some games in the "old" traditional-platform way.

Ice Cream Sandwich is suppose to add USB controller support. I wonder if it'll be possible to port that back to older devices.

With 3.1 honeycomb people are using usb 360 controllers to play i have heard.
Cool, but I have no tablet nor can I buy 1, so all I have left is to hope that my SGS I9000 & my Google N1 will support it in some CM8 or something.
usb controllers are already possible for tablets with usb host but than you still have the wire.

this is nice too.

Yeah, it's great for 'official' tablets, but what about those with tablets running 2.x? We want USB game controller support too!
Maybe this Evo2 thing will help with bringing USB over to froyo/gingerbread.
Anyway, android sure could use some physical game controllers (wired and wireless).
i personally dont understand why people want usb controller when you can have wireless
Less battery drain, easier to manage (Wi-Fi's & BT's network protocol is more complex) ans of course less radiation.

USB Controller

Hi Guys,
Just a quick question. I've only found topics related to PS3 & XBOX controllers. But will any usb controller work with the Asus Transformer?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know about any usb controller, but I would think so. I have this controller and it works perfectly.

I've tried a few of the Logitech ones, the Wired 360 and a 3rd party adapter that connects a n64 controller and they all work.
Where it gets sticky is app compatibility. I know that GTA3 does not 100% work with the Logitech controllers (can't go forward in car). The n64 one may or may not work with anything other than emulators.
Figure out what you are going to use it for then do the research. One may be better than others for your specific purpose.
If I were to pick ONE to work with, it would be the wired 360 controller.
Thanks for your replies. I know that some games aren't standard compatable with gamepads/controllers but there's this app called 'Sixaxis Controller' that fixes this problem.
360 is to pricy for me. Found one for 15 bucks with good reviews.

which one???
I have some cheap USB controller. It works perfectly only in Sonic CD. Didn't yet tried sixaxis but it should definitely help.
Hooray for DealExtreme. But you get what you pay for, but the reviews are good compared to others.

Sixaxis is great, you can map parts of the touchscreen to certain buttons.

Mirror galaxy s3 to tv?

Wondering what my options are to accomplish:
My Genesis has recently died and I have a wii xbox ps3 however I haven't found all the games I own plus not keen to repurchase these again.
So, I have a few games on my s3, I've recently gotten an otg cable and hooked up my ps3 controller and quite enjoy playing these games this way.
What I want is to mirror my galaxy s3 to my tv.
My tv is not a wifi so I figure my options are to either find an app that allows me to mirror through a console (ps3 prefered), or to get a mhl cable. With the mhl ca Le I'll have to deal with a new set of problems with a usb hub so I can plug in my controller and the mhl.
This would be alot easier if there was a wireless app that supported mirroring. Any such apps exist? I've yet to find one

[Q] Bluetooth Ps3 controller help (sixaxis or similar)

I have the Samsung galaxy note 10.1 (4.1.2 GT-N8013) I want to purchase a ps3 controller to play games on because some of the controls are not friendly for hours of play. I have seen that rooting the device would, potentially, make the sixaxis app work but, If there is a simpler way to do it with a PS3 controller i would like to know.
Could you run a wired connection without a root? highly inconvenient but would get the job done. I would rather bluetooth tho
If all fails and i need to root the device please post links to the best rooting guides you have.
P.S. i have searched for the solution and there isn't on that i found. I did see the compatible games thread but i figured it was dead.
i think it wont work without root and bluetooth connection. since samsung didn't build in the ability to use high performance device on the connector port the tablet just says that it cant use the device.
i already tried it out with the xbox360 controller and an external hdd. both give me the error i stated before.
we need a kernel that supports high performance devices but i dont know if there is already one. would be nice if someone could tell if there is such kernel at the moment!

seems like it works but your controller has to be fully charged
You should be able to use the PS3 controller as plug and play. I do so on my asus TF101 with games such as dead trigger and SG: deadzone, but it will only work with apps that are compatible with android conrollers. I dont this the same functionality is available for 360 controllers.
If you want to use the PS3 controller as a bluetooth controller, then you will need to root. you will also need a seperate app on your laptop so that you can load the correct address in to the controller.
It really is about time that Google added support for game controllers into the android os, considering the amount of games available and touch screen controls just don't cut it for alot of games imo.
Yes it's great that some games have built in support for pads like the 360 controller etc but the amount of games with that kind of controller support is very limited.

Ps3 controller plug and play does work but it's touchy, it connects fine sometime other times it resisters as a high power device why I don't know I have been trying to work it out for ages
So root and it will work if the games are compatible ? Whats the best root ?

Its working for me even with bluetooth. I think as long as you root, have the 30pin to usb extension from samsung, sixaxis will recognize the controller and set its bluetooth.
I have the NA verizon note 10.1 n8020 and used adamoutler Take Note jailbreak.

USB/BT Gamepad Compatibility

I have searched XDA and many other forums to see if there is a kernel, or any mod or tweak which will allow someone with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 P5113 to use a wired XBOX 360 controller, or a Bluetooth controller designed for android with the device. Every other "workaround" I have tried does not work, or they are very outdated.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
P.S. I have an OTG cable and the wired XBOX 360 controller already, I was going to buy the Bluetooth one in case that did not work.
