hello everybody
I just finished my project. "a Bluetooth game controller for android"
I took a wii mote and a wii classic controller pro and put the wii mote circuit board inside the classic controller pro with rechargeable batteries.
After a lot of debugging i came to the conclusion that you can’t use any non wii brand extension for the wii controller app.
You can use a non wii brand wii mote for it but no fake extensions will work.
So I used a fake wii mote and a real wii classic controller pro.
here is my youtube video: youtube.com/watch?v=2L-l48vUDYs
sorry for my bad English
Nice mod.
thanks man,
i have an update but i cant post foto's so.
the update is an telefoon holder.
Amazing mod!!! Can you post a tutorial on how to make a wireless classic controller pro?
yes i can but there is to little appreciation for it.
it wil cost me to much time that i dont have now.
sorry
That's sounds great, I think that a USB game controller should be released so we can play some games in the "old" traditional-platform way.

Ice Cream Sandwich is suppose to add USB controller support. I wonder if it'll be possible to port that back to older devices.

With 3.1 honeycomb people are using usb 360 controllers to play i have heard.
Cool, but I have no tablet nor can I buy 1, so all I have left is to hope that my SGS I9000 & my Google N1 will support it in some CM8 or something.
usb controllers are already possible for tablets with usb host but than you still have the wire.

this is nice too.

Yeah, it's great for 'official' tablets, but what about those with tablets running 2.x? We want USB game controller support too!
Maybe this Evo2 thing will help with bringing USB over to froyo/gingerbread.
Anyway, android sure could use some physical game controllers (wired and wireless).
i personally dont understand why people want usb controller when you can have wireless
Less battery drain, easier to manage (Wi-Fi's & BT's network protocol is more complex) ans of course less radiation.

My tablet lacks Bluetooth.

I know you can use the Wiimote, but can you also use the "classic controller?"
What about the Xbox 360 controller? Wired only?
Yes, I've been using the Classic Controller to play n64oid.
not sure about the XBox 360 controller, perhaps 3.1?
I only ask because I already have 360 controllers, but no wii controllers. I'm gonna pick up a classic controller through. Can't wait to play some old school games haha

btw, as far as I know the classic controller has to be tethered to a regular Wiimote.
you need a Wiimote to hook the classic controller up, but once you have both, your good.
With the 3.1 update, any USB gamepad will work. Now, the Xbox 360 WIRED controller should work as it was shown. as far as the wireless one goes, you'd have to buy the USB cable for it and i doubt the wireless adapter for windows will work.
But literally any USB gamepad will work with android 3.1, and there are many many usb gamepads out there.

3.1 is going have all sorts of USB connectivity for joysticks, mice, keyboards, etc, at Google IO I guess they used an Xbox 360 controller.

I know the Datel Retro Wireless controller works, it's been verified, but i believe from what i see at Amazon and Best Buy, it's sold out or discontinued.
I'd like to get something similar for a trip i'm taking, so my question is will any wireless Wii classic controller work for the Xoom? Or should it?
e.g. Amazon.com: Thrustmaster T-Wireless Gamepad for Nintendo Wii: Video Games

I am still waiting on my Xoom to arrive but on my Evo I use the official classic controller with analog sticks with the wiimote app and it works great. The only downside is that it has to be plugged into the wii remote as it isn't a stand-alone controller. This is why I am looking forward using my Xbox controllers now.
Isaac in Best Buy the other day and saw a wireless gamecube controller in the wii accessories section. Not sure if it would work, but worth checking into. I use the Datel controller, if you Google it you can still find it.
wireless gamecube controller dont work because they arent bluetooth. they have an adaptor that plugs into a gamecube port. Try to find the datel retro wireless, it's the best options. You can get them on datel.com. I bought mine from another xda'er.

That's the one. If you get it I would recommend going over to the "Xoom Accessories" forum and looking up the thread on the Datel controller. They discuss a must have mod for the controller to really work well.
Edit: Here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13018984&postcount=28 I did the mod myself, it was easy to do and made a noticable difference.

Thank. You
i was wonderning if xbox 360 pad can be used with our sensation for gaming.
i'm saying this because ps3 pad can be used for gaming and all it takes a driver which enables it.
i'm not a dev but i would love it if someting like this can be done.
please dev can you give some insight about this thread.

What way does the 360 controller connect to the Xbox wirelessly? If it's Bluetooth, there *MIGHT* be a slight chance. But if it's not Bluetooth, no way to get it working.

it only says its use wireless at 1.4 ghz protocol to connect
othere than that i could not find anything
Ok this is what I do know about your question. I do think the X-Box 360 does use Bluetooth for the wireless controllers, but do not hold me to it as I have not researched it in depth. If it is Bluetooth then you should be able to connect it via Bluetooth if your device supports the service the controller uses to communicate. But this is where the problem lies at, I do not think the services or supported in Gingerbread. Now if the Sensation suppers USB host functionality then you probably can use a USB hub to connect your Sensation and the X-Box 360 controller to and use it that way.
Now in ICS I do know that game pads are supported. You can read the article on Engadget to read more about that.

Hi,
Unfortunately for you the 360 wireless controller works via radio rather than bluetooth (unlike the PS3 and the Wii)

one of many reasons why I can not wait for ICS!!!
p.s. I do not believe Xbox controllers run on Blutooth... PS3 controller yes.

Thanks for correcting me, as I said I had not ever really looked into it. I knew the PS3 controller worked via Bluetooth, so it was a incorrect assumtion on my part.
Also thanks to someone I consider a friend malybru.
Even so if you dont have a stock build of android like CM7, or MIUI, Bluetooth wont work with the ps3 or wii controllers... HTC needs to fix that in their next update. i love sense and i love gaming it sucks i cant have both
360 = rf
ps3 = bt
Yeah, you will never get a 360 controller working without a hardware mod of some sort.
Wii is BT as well.
i just want to know how does cm7 or miui allow the users to connect to ps3 pad
if they use different bluetooth app or driver files than i think it will be good for us to just move them in our phone and we are good to go.
if any 1 can tell me the reason these two rom can connect to ps3 pad. and what is it that allows them
U need a radio reciever in your phone at 2.4ghz to use xbox controller. Our phones dont. So no go. End of story
I know there are usb adapters for the xbox 360 controller , would it be possible to use a usb to micro usb cable and use USB OTG to get it to communicate, then creat some sort of driver to get it to work? Sorry if its impossible, just throwing science at the wall here to see what sticks.
LOL we work around science.

Sorry for digging out this topic but it might be usefull for some ppl. With new usb otg function i managed to control this wireless 360 pad to sensation. Here's my vid showing that Sensation and xbox 360 wireless pad
can you please supply the rom and kernel.
i tried several but no success.
Present ROM: cm_pyramid_userdebug 4.0.4 IMM76L eng.jenkins.20120810.032102 test-keys (CyanogenMod version 9.0.0 - pyramid)
Kernel Version: 3.0.40-TAMCORE-00689-gfe1a294
Android Version: 4.0.4
Still not working. Please provide your Rom and kernel version. Also the USB BT app please.
Thanks in advance
I tried everything but its not working. ROM and kernel that I'm using is posted in the previous post. Please help.
the USB bt joystick app is still not recognizing the wireless receiver.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Guys,
Just a quick question. I've only found topics related to PS3 & XBOX controllers. But will any usb controller work with the Asus Transformer?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know about any usb controller, but I would think so. I have this controller and it works perfectly.
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-940-000110-Gamepad-F310/dp/B003VAHYQY
I've tried a few of the Logitech ones, the Wired 360 and a 3rd party adapter that connects a n64 controller and they all work.
Where it gets sticky is app compatibility. I know that GTA3 does not 100% work with the Logitech controllers (can't go forward in car). The n64 one may or may not work with anything other than emulators.
Figure out what you are going to use it for then do the research. One may be better than others for your specific purpose.
If I were to pick ONE to work with, it would be the wired 360 controller.
Thanks for your replies. I know that some games aren't standard compatable with gamepads/controllers but there's this app called 'Sixaxis Controller' that fixes this problem.
360 is to pricy for me. Found one for 15 bucks with good reviews.

which one???
I have some cheap USB controller. It works perfectly only in Sonic CD. Didn't yet tried sixaxis but it should definitely help.
Hooray for DealExtreme. But you get what you pay for, but the reviews are good compared to others.

Sixaxis is great, you can map parts of the touchscreen to certain buttons.
Guys is there any way to connect ps4 controller to htc one through bluetooth??

Currently there's no android device that supports ps4 controller connection. You can use a ps3 one, though....your phone is ps certified, so you just need the controller. No root and such stuff.

Don't worry, there are many diferences between the controllers. For example, the ps4 controller has a touchpad, while the ps3 one doesn't. Also, they differ visually. Anyways, it's pretty easy to connect a ps3 controller to your htc one. I haven't found a proper video showing the way you connect it, but I'm sure you can find one on youtube....
