Getting free internet from Free Basics app - Android Apps and Games

Y'all would have heard about Facebook's Free Basics app which lets you browse the internet (selected sites) for free. I can browse Facebook indefinitely without pictures/videos. If I want to see the any media, I'll have to use my data package I bought from the telecomm company. In the Messenger app, I can send photos and videos, but I can only view photos, no videos.
But SOMETIMES, the app malfunctions. It doesn't show any errors or anything, but I get to view photos on Facebook for free. Basically, free internet. You get where I'm going?
So, would it be possible to recreate this scenario intentionally, or modify the .apk file to get the same/better results?
I think the app is different country to country/service provider to service provider, so I'm gonna attach the .apk file I have.

[APP][SUGGESTION] Auto E-mailer

So I'd do this myself but haven't made the time to. This is more of a request / suggestion for an application. Basically every time you take a photo or a video the application automatically email's the file to any email's you entered into the application. I'm sure its possible since the photo bucket application can upload new photos automatically.
In case you are not aware of why this is useful, basically every photo and video service can accept emails for uploading. Like flickr, facebook, even youtube.
So the program should check the camera's default folder (which should be able to be set in the program) one for new videos and one for new photos. And then use two input fields one for email addresses for new photos and one for addresses for new videos, and then send an email (with some default tags, titles, etc, also able to be set in the program). Then of course you can go through the photos when you get home.
Anyhow if anyone wants to work on this or thinks its a good idea, let me know.

Receipt scanning app?

Is there any kind of app that will take images of receipts and extract data from them? I'd like to be able to at least get the digital images of receipts but if the app has the extra feature of being able to get information that would be great. Anyone heard of anything like this?
Although it doesn't extract data from them, the CamScanner app is the one I use. It allows you to organize scanned documents which is useful.
I don't think an app exist (yet) but I've used the Neat Receipt scanner, which works very well with extracting data. Unfortunately it requires a computer to use though.

[APP][3.2+] CloudSocial

All - I have developed my first Android application, which is still in its infancy but fully functional.
The app is called CloudSocial, you can find it on the Play store.
I am hoping to get some constructive feedback on its ease of use, usefulness, appearance etc.
Why this app?
I have lots of photos on Dropbox, especially a lot of old ones. There was no easy way to get them onto Facebook without having to download to a device and then upload. You can obviously share a link to the Dropbox folder, but thats not the same as having them actually on Facebook for friends to like and comment on individual photos.
Similarily, my digital camera can upload directly to my NAS drive, which in turn uploads to my Dropbox account. Using CloudSocial - I can easily browse these photos and select which ones I want - and send them to a new or existing Facebook album, with whatever privacy settings I wish.
Description
Send photos from Dropbox to Facebook!
CloudSocial allows you to easily transfer photos from your Dropbox account to Facebook. You can transfer photos to existing Facebook albums, or create and send to new albums.
Features:
* Browse and Transfer photos directly from Dropbox to Facebook
* Easily create a new Facebook album for your photos, or add to an existing Facebook album
* Photos are not downloaded to your phone, so no large data transfers
* Choose Facebook privacy settings for new albums
* Photos are stored on Facebook, so your Friends can Like and Comment.
* Click on a thumbnail image to view a larger photo
Any concerns about permissions, let me know. The app cannot retrieve any passwords for either Facebook or Dropbox! No email addresses or any other user info at all is collected or stored.
The app is ad supported using admob.
Thanks for your time and feedback is appreciated (even critical).
Reserved for Q/A:
Q. Can this app see my password?
No - CloudSocial uses authentication provided by Dropbox and Facebook, so we are unable to see or store any passwords.
Q. Do I have to wait for the thumbails to be downloaded before I select and post my photos?
No - if you know what photos you want to send to your album, just select them (or select all) and hit the post button.
Q. How much data does the application use?
Only thumbnail images are downloaded from Dropbox (not full size images). These thumbnails are very small in size (around 15KB). They are also cached so they will not be downloaded again.
Q. If no images are downloaded to my phone, why does it take so long to send to Facebook?
CloudSocial has to ask Dropbox for a link to your photo. It can take around 1 second for each photo to get that link.
If you are posting a lot of photos to Facebook, it can take a bit longer to retrieve all the links. Good news is that this is done in the background so you can use your phone wihtout interruption.
Q. It takes a long time to list all my Dropbox photos?
If you have lots of images in a folder, it can take longer to list and display them all. You should consider reducing the number of images in a Dropbox folder by creating sub-folders.
Q. Why didn't all my photos transfer?
Occasionally there may be a couple of photos which don't make it. This is often due to internal server errors either on Dropbox or on Facebook. This tends to happen most when you are trying to upload a lot of photos (100+). We recommend uploading 60 or less at a time.
Tried this out and it works great, transferred a lot of photos using it (well my wife did and she found it easy to use).
I've left feedback and rated on Google Play. :good:
Sound good but I usually share my photos directly by url from Dropbox.

Thanks for the reply, I'm curious as to how you share your photos on Facebook. Do you have to share the photos individually?
If you want to share an album from Dropbox to Facebook, it only creates a link to the dropbox folder. So the user has to navigate away from Facebook in order to see the album. And they cannot comment on individual photos.
Also - you may not want everyone to see ALL the photos in an album. With my CloudSocial - you can select whatever photos you want from a dropbox folder, and send them to a new album, with whatever privacy settings you choose for that album.
Try my app and let me know if it is easier to share your photos and let me know!
Thanks

[APP][2.1+] cloush: Easily share files that are stored in your cloud

Use cloush, to easily share files, that are stored in your cloud.
Everybody knows it. You are meeting interesting people at a meeting, a restaurant, or on a concert and you want to share your files like fotos or videos with them.
But how should you do this, easily, fast and secure?
Send the data by email?
Wouldn't it be better to copy the data directly from one cloud to an other one?
This is now possibly with cloush. Let your partner scan the QR-Codes of your files and they will be copied to the other cloud.
The best, it is free and absolutely anonym. You do not to share your email address or something like that.
Download cloush now for android and iOS on cloush.com and discover your opportunities.
Oh..
and it would be great if you could just give some feedback to the app. You can do directly in the app, in the app stores or just reply to this topic.
Thank You!

Facebook Records Your Off-facebook Activities - Turn It off Now!

There are a few privacy concerns about Facebook but Today I want to take a look at the Off-facebook activities. If it is called off-facebook, why do Facebook still have your data for activities carried outside of Facebook? Well, you can see a detailed video here:
What this implies is that Facebook collects (or shares) data from all third-party that uses any of their tools (this third-party ranges from App developers to advertisers). Examples of the tools are Facebook SDK, Facebook Pixel etc.
The more important or annoying part if you were, is that even Paid Android apps etc (MX player Pro) were sharing usage data with Facebook funny enough, there is nothing in the app that links it to Facebook.
To make matters worse, I tried to view the my activity data shared with Facebook by some of these App developers and there was no details at all.
Anyways, go to https://www.facebook.com/off_facebook_activity/
And turn it off for yourself or you can see the video for more details
