Hey guys,
Just got myself a new Mate 8 (nxt-l29)
If i were to unlock the bootloader and were to re-lock it, would that mean the warranty is 100% void, or would it depend on the service center?
I believe that someone on the forum found a method to lock the bootloader from re-lock. Correct me if i am wrong
You can relock with dcunlocker. Since there's no knox like, once relocked no could say it was unlocked .

Hello all,
I'm sure most if not everyone are already aware that we can unlock our bootloader through htcdev website. The only problem with unlocking that way is when you try to lock the bootloader again for warranty repair or w/e reason, the phone will have the status of "RELOCKED" AND "tampered" .....In other words, your phone will never be like factory condition again once the bootlocker is unlocked. That also means that we have permanently voided the warranty of our phone.
does anyone know another way to unlock bootloader? or anyone heard of any new development regarding that matter?
Thanks in advance for any inputs.
there are way too many threads regarding this.. as of yet there is no other way to unlock bootloader than by htcdev
having relocked on your hboot does not void warranty... having tampered can, however running an ruu will get rid of it so dont worry
run an ruu and relock the bootloader and your warranty in intact

Hi, I bought my Moto G from Amazon.de. While planning to test it out and send it back in ~ 1-2 weeks, to buy the 16 GB version of it, I wanted to know, when the warranty is broken. By requesting the unlock code from Motorola or by actually unlocking the bootloader?
Since it's possible to relock the bootloader, will the warranty back or better: is it detectable, that the phone was unlocked?
It's quite a general question, since it applies to Motorola and HTC devices which also have to be unlocked by requesting a code from HTCDev
Well to be honest you can't void your warranty in the EU by simply unlocking the bootloader. So it depends where you live.
Link: Once you REQUEST!!! the unlock code, your warranty will be voided.
If I unlock the bootloader , will the mobile voids Sony warranty ?? If yes, can I lock it back ?? An in what way ?? Thanks.

True as stated above, except for one exception if you hard brick your phone, there is no way for them to determine that your phone had the boot loader unlocked. Just requesting the unlock code is not evidence enough that it was unlocked, just that you requested the code. I had done that in the past requested a code and not ever used it because root became available and I found out about loosing DRM keys etc.
I dont want to loose warranty....xiaomi is so liberal in rooting & encourages it where as huawei does completely opposite
whats d use of partnership with xda when just unlocking boot loaders voids u'r warranty
anyways is there any other way to root without loosing warranty ??

Yes unlocking the bootloader does void warranty.
Motorola rarely enforces it, and will fix or replace if there was a manufacturer problem.

I have the screen that already tends to green on greyish colors so I'm afraid that by unlocking the BL then maybe when I decide to send it to assistance, they won't recognize the damage
