Is it still worth €150? Or should i get the LG Optimus 2x? Both would be used. How's jelly bean running? Also, how many space for apps?
I would buy it. The price is not Bad. It is a i9020 or i9023? JB is on the Nexus S really smooth. Batterylife is ok. And they are many Roms too.

bought mine for about $200 in my country. now it replaces my cowon j3 as a music player (voodoo + poweramp w/ tweaked eq).
Space might be depended on the rom and partition configuration. Running SlimBean with 1GB available, you can always move the app to SDcard if you need more.
If you are willing to flash roms and customize it then it might be worth buying, but for a little more you can get a Galaxy Nexus. Also I don't feel the camera is good enough anymore, but I do find the GPS signal on this pretty better than other Galaxy S variants.
Converting to USD, 150 euro is a bit much for now, but maybe 140 or less.
Its the best phone I've owned.
I can do everything in one device now. I've sold my sat nav and now I can do away with my iPod after setting up Google Music. I was looking to get a S2 or maybe a Galaxy Nexus, but I listen to a lot of music at work and both those devices haven't got a decent sound chip, unlike the Nexus S . So I will be keeping the Nexus S for the foreseeable future.
I think if you want flash ROMs go for it.
But at stock its still good.

I would always buy Nexus. The Galaxy Nexus is too big so I still vote for the S. It's really smooth with Strawberry ROM from kzno. The only thing that's really bad is the GPS signal. No chance to use it for navigation.

2/3 of SGS4's shipped are S-600 and the i9500 is only available in smaller markets without the prospects of LTE. If devs in major markets (EU, US, Asia) have access to LTE it shouldn't be shocking they'd want to own an LTE-capable phone. So it shouldn't be a surprise that Octa has less dev support just based on fewer being sold and the markets it's available in.

In terms of non-stock ROMs (CM, AOKP etc.) that's only part of the reason though, and not even the main one. The primary reason for a lack of ROMs is the Exynos chip set and the devs refusing to work with it thanks to Samsung.

You'll be waiting a long time. So far no maintainers have expressed interest in touching another Exynos device.
There's always the possibility someone new will do the bringup, but so far, it's not likely.
It is normal! Nobody want to devote time and resources to a device that has a defective SoC! Even Samsung have acknowledged that there is a serious flaw in the core switching logic of Exynos 5410 that can't be repaired with a software patch and they have began to build the newer fixed Exynos 5420
I'm a owner of a gt I9505. Flashed a dozen roms already and kernels. Can't decide what I want. So many to pick, just wanted to tell you that.

for anyone on the fence regarding 9500/9505, I would highly recommend i9505 if you are planning to mod.
There is already an active community of 9505 modders, and is growing daily. However there is no guarantee the issues with the Exynos chip will be resolved in the immediate future.
Any speed/power savings in the 9500 octacore chip are neglibile IMO and with a dearth of frequently updated roms for it, I think the 9505 is the way to go.

exynos chip will be rsolved? resolved what ? The difference is only with cm/aokp roms to which maintainers are reluctant to start(thank u ****shung). The rest of the development/mods is a different story, both are similar.
If there is a mod available for 9505 alone(which is unlikely since all the rom mods will be common for both)its just a matter of time before someone do it for 9500.
There are already a bundle of stock modded roms available for 9500.

They hate it because of Samsung! There is no complete documentation for the SoC, no compete sources, and the fact that the Exynos 5410 have a hardware flaw (that can't be fixed) doesn't help either!

hardware flaw? explain! , you can call it a missing feature/implementation. the term "hardware flaw" will always mislead the users in general. a feature which was never promised to be available for end users cannot be called as a flaw. It lacks one of the implementation/features of big little architecture and thats it.

And since I'm coming from i9100 exynos, there's been lot of frustration and waiting (mainly the hwcomposer). You could search & read i9100 threads and find out more reasons .
If you're a rom junkie don't hold your breath for Exynos, just switch to Nexus 4 or wait a little bit longer for Nexus 5 like me.
So there are suddenly android 4.4.4 builds for nexus available : https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Seems like just security fixes.

Wow
Hey Great man, I'm looking forward to a galaxy S version
Sounds great. Im looking into getting a Galaxy s5. Hopefully soon
I won't have it soon in my G2
I will have to switch to the new Mahdi ROM
This gives me a good reason to buy a Nexus now.
Yep, got some 3rd party updates on some apps for the new 4.4.4, which I dont even have on my phone lol.
Thats fast. Though today i managed to flash 4.4.4 on an aging galaxy tab 2. Pretty impressive considering how old that phone is

Do you know if the 4.4.4 is an update that corrects all the bugs in 4.4.3? Also, is there a 4.4.4 rom for the S3?
I think there are some super serious coders who can port the following features from s7 edge
1. Task edge
2. Always on display.
This will make note 5 the best possible device with all the perfections.

Sure it will,I hope some will come up with it,
S7E features its same S6E mm i try already S7E on my S6 & its working just fine but that features its same as S6E ..
Will it work on n920c mm
hoping that someone will help with these two

When more people get there hands on the s7 edge I'm sure we will get some love
Yes i even hope the same, but being patient for few things which we deserve is like thirsty in desert.
Geiti94 is making that port.. but he banned from xda... : (
gosh we need more developers, more the people will support this thread better chances we have for this.
Why did Geiti94 get banned
Everen35 built a rom but it wont work for N920G as there is no MM Update.

Karşıyakalı olaraktan merhaba diyorum hocam
Bu Note 5 için S7 Edge paneli sorunsuz olarak var mı ? İngilizcem fazla yok anlamıyorum. Yardımcı olursanız sevinirim
There are apps such as "edge screen" that mimic the S6E features, but I haven't seen any that do the same for the S7E features, which is a shame for me since I'm on Verizon and we can't have root.

good
I see the original Mi Mix 2 has a ton of development of custom roms etc. Will it be the same for the 2S? I know noone can say for sure but just would like your opinion on it.
It's a good and high end device with big fan base. I think you can be sure that there will be much development.

I had to make the same decision, currently owning a 1+1 but went for the 2s because it has project treble(1+6 will support treble too of course) which makes making custom Roms pretty easy. Also xiaomi already released the kernel source code , there won't be as much Roms as on the 1+6 but it's much cheaper and looks better
I think treble is the future! The will be so much treble development and with this for both devices.

I have a Oneplus 5 and while I love the device, I'll probably be moving to the Mi Mix 2S once the it's no longer marked up. The camera looks far better and the bezel-less display beautiful. I never use the front facing camera so I don't care about its placement.
