[Completed] Weird things happening on my microSD card - XDA Assist

Sd card specs:
Kingston microsd class 4, 16gb.
Hi! I'm having a weird problem on my sdcard. When I start copying an mp3 file to the sdcard its shows the progress and when completes there are many possible things that could happen.
Sometimes the mp3 file its unplayable with 0kbps 0hz whitout tags (but the file is there, it isnt hidden).
Some files are copied wrong, and the song cuts unexpectedly when i'm playing it.
And sometimes when i go to the folder on my sdcard it says, "empty folder".
The folders I want to copy to sd from the computer sometimes shows that are empty too..
note: I use aimp3 to check if the song is playable from the sdcard.
I tried formating the card with a lot of programs but it keeps doing the same stuff..
Please help me!!

Files in SD card got corrupted

I'm using a 512MB Transcend SD card for a year already and this is the first time I encountered such problem. It suddenly got its files corrupted, names are in symbols like boxes and some files claim to have 1GB of filesize. I can't remember what I did before it happened but im sure everything i was doing then is the usual thing. I didn't even remove it from my XDA. Is there any way to recover them? if none, is there any way to prevent it from occuring in the future? Please help
There is a way to recover them. Get your card into the card reader and start your undelete program (i have a great program if you want).
Seems you have Spb Pocket Plus and you have the storage card indicator active! This indicator seems to cause SD card erasings as many people (including me) tried removing the SD indicator & having no more SD wiping
If thats not true, then try to lock your SD card (the read only switch).
Cheeeers
this is the undelte program:

oh shoots  i already had it reformatted. but thanks so much for the reply Ezzkht
i didn't install Spb Pocket Plus though. And i tried locking the SD card, still the same, filenames are unreadable, just boxes and lines
Sometimes Pocket Hack Master can restore the files as well.
regards, M
ravelcop, even if you've formatted the SD card, you can still recover the files (the format process does NOT erase the existing data, it just deletes the 1st sector of the media)
Try EasyRecovery Pro (from the link I've sent to you).
Best of luck
Thanks guys, il try the softwares you recommended.
I hope we could find out what are the causes of this problem so as to prevent it from occuring in the future. Spb Pocket Plus autodetection feature could be one, and it must have other causes as well since i didn't have that software in my XDA
The problem of SD card erasing is cause by having two or more processes accessing the SD card all at the same time. This will cause trouble to the SD card system driver, and hence, will crash your SD!
Thats why Pocket Plus can cause this problem; since the SD card indicator checks the free space of the SD card every X interval, which could occur while having another process accessing the same SD card.
how to view
I had a sd card that was corrupt as well and I downloaded the file and it said it recovered 64 files. It said your files were recovered successfully. I saved the files in the directory and I can see them there but I can not view them to change them back to a jpeg file. Can someone help?
hi tia,
how did you download the file? i tried clicking that link but i get a page error. i think the link is broken. could you post the file here instead? i'll try to use it and maybe i could help you afterwards. thanks

How to transfer to a larger SD Card?

i did search the forums for an answer, but im running into a problem that hasnt been encountered by others. I would like to switch my sd card from a 4gb to a 8gb. if i just copy and paste the files, i get a pop up advising that theres a file/folder thats name is too long, and it will only skip it. I dont want to leave behind any important files. any help with this?

Just copy your current SD Card (4GB) contents to the PC. Then format your new SD Card (8GB). After that just copy the contents back onto the new SD Card, and load it back inot your Shift. You should be good to go.

You'll be fine. I've copied my sd contents to my PC and back a few times and I always get that "name too long" error on one file and I've always just skipped it with no problems.
thanks.... i found out that the source of my problem was the folder "android" but i pretty much just took what i needed from that folder, and created a new one on the root of the sd card, and placed the contents there, every other file/folder transferred smoothly

[Q] My Xperia E Dual Sd external problem

Hello guys I have Sony Xperia e dual (c1605 android 4.1.1). I brought 4gb micro sdhc class 4 card. When I saved musics and images there after some time some musics can't be played and images can't be shown. Also if I save unknown type files on it(java games and android games data and obb files) insted of them appears a lot of files with unknown symbol names. I cant delete them and es file explorer shows that folder size up to 400 gb. Please help me, its my phone problem or sd external card? I hope I explained my problem well.
Hello,
Well, first of all, it's probably a phone problem. Second of all, WHY BUY A CLASS 4? Man, those things are slooooooooooooooow. But I'll try to help! So:
Option 1: try to move every file on the external sd to the internal memory (if you have enough space left), power off your device. Put your sd card back in, and reboot the phone. Then try to move the files you moved earlier to the internal storage, back to the sd card. See if it works.
Option 2(requires pc): power off your device. Important! Otherwise your phone could go to an endless rage of force closes. Believe me, you don't want to have that. It's not harmful nor wil it brick your device. It's just plain annoying.
Remove the sd card, and put it in your card reader, and then into your pc. Backup the content(important!). Then go to your main folder in the computer(probably called: Computer ). Right click on the sc card symbol-> choose Properties, and then search for the tab where it says ''format''. So format it, just keep it FAT32.
Wait for it to be finished, and then move the back-upped content back to the sd. Insert sd card in powered off phone, and reboot. If this doesn't work, I would be really amazed .
Succes, and have a nice day!
Hope I helped!

About 1st method for that reason I don't save anything on my ext card(internal sd.) and it will not work because I try reboot and format by Settings->Storage->Earse SD card. But this happens agaist with other files or same if I redownload/move. If I tern off my mobile or unmount sd card than folder with that files is deleted. Thanks for trying helping me

Unable to copy files from internal storage to SD card

Whenever I try to copy or move files from my phone memory to the SanDisk external storage , the copying process gets failed halfway.
My phone memory is about to be full and I need to move some files onto the SD card.
Why is this happening? Please help!.
IM USING A XIAOMI MI A1 RUNNING ON ANDROID 8.0.0
I am also not sure about this. One thing you can try switch off your phone and then on again. This might help you.
It seems to me that your phone hasn't enough available RAM to complete the task. You could try just use a PC to do the transfer until you figure out what's causing the phone to fail during the process.
Another option would be a safeboot.
Another option I should have started with , would another file explorer to copy it over to the sdcard
Sorry if none of this is useful
Does your SD card have enough room available? Are the files to copy too big? ......
