[fix]lg bridge cannot update via mac[fix] - LG V10 General

I was trying to update my V10 (H960) to Marshmallow the entire day on my Mac. LG Bridge kept on throwing me with an error that says:
Your phone cannot update.
Follow the steps below to try again.
1. Disconnect your mobile device from your computer. Remove the battery from your mobile device. For models where the battery cannot be removed, press and hold the Power key.
2. Insert the battery and reconnect your mobile device to your computer.
3. Turn on your mobile device.
4. Click [Retry].
Here's the fix:
1. DO NOT FOLLOW WHAT LG BRIDGE WANTS YOU TO DO
2. Pull up Terminal to fetch the exact location of the firmware. Key in:
sudo su
(password)
find /private/var/folders -name 'com.lge.LG-Bridge' -print
**The next line should give you the path. Copy it.
3. In Finder, Shift+CMD+G. Paste the address. This will pull up the folder > temp > Find the firmware which is 1.64GB
Filename: H96020a_00_0314.kdz&e=1460243411&h=19c57b94b39f968e83cd4f30ae447be5
RENAME this to H96020a_00_0314.kdz
4. Go back to LG Bridge, click Retry.
Worked like a charm.
LG Bridge Ver 1.2.7

I'm having this error on my Laptop which is running windows 10, I'm using a LG V10 T-mobile!

Checking firmware rev without activation

Is there a way to check if a new phone is pre-RC30 without activating it?
I'm looking to buy an unlocked G1 on ebay and would like the seller to verify the firmware revision before shipping.
1. Get adb.exe from the SDK or adbwin.zip and unzip the contents.
2. Plug G1 into computer via usb and turn it on.
3. Touch the android on screen when prompted.
4. Open command prompt on computer and navigate to the directory adb.exe is in.
5. Type in the command prompt adb shell getprop ro.build.fingerprint. The fingerprint will have the software version in it.
1. Have the seller power on the handset
2. After the startup screen finishes and it gets to the "no sim card" point, have them type "reboot"(enter). If the phone blanks its screen and restarts, it's <RC30.
This worked for me when quicly testing in a tmobile store.
-sparkle [I have an extra <RC30 handset that may be for sale]

[HELP!!] having trouble upgrading to V21y from V21e

I have a Wind Mobile lg p999 G2x phone with V21e 2.3.3
I followed this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287236
everything worked fine and i followed everything : ..

Update Stock ROM with LG flasher (.kdz files)-NoWipe
Prerequisites:
• LG Drivers Installed.
• LGMobile Update Tool installed.
Notice: Latest Version of LG Mobile Update prevents updating firmware from kdz files, if the phone is not in the firmware level LG expects. LG Is watching everything when you run firmware update with KDZ Method, logging everything, your mobile No, SN No, OLD Firmware, New Firmware etc. To bypass this first we make our PC to serve LG update tool locally (offline). More Info here. Then we follow the steps below as before.
To make things easier, run the Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs script, it adds 127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com entry (temporarily) in hosts file, sets a small HTTP Server on the PC listening to port 9002 which serves the requests of the LG flash utility, installs MSXML, runs all the utilities automatically and finally reverts back your hosts file removing the above entry. This script must be run as administrator so Start  --All Programs  Accessories  right-click on Command Prompt  select Run as administrator. Then drag-drop the script in and press enter.
If you are running the “Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs” continue from step 5.
1. Install MSXML 4.0 SP3 Parser (msxml.msi) if not already installed.
2. Run “windows enabler.exe” and switch to the "ON" position (left click on icon)
3. Enable the phone’s “USB debugging” mode (menusettingsapplicationsdevelopmentUSB debugging), connect the phone to PC and wait for drivers to be loaded.
4. Run "UpTestEX_mod2_marwin.exe".
5. Set EMERGENCY, 3gQCT as pictured and press "Normal web upgrade test" and select your KDZ file
6. To the next window click <Upgrade Start>
7. Clear Phone Software update registry, Select "Different Country" and select your Language. Click <OK>
8. If running the “Automatic Offline Procedure.vbs” the following message will be displayed in taskbar, ignore it or just click <Cancel>.
9. The utility starts the official LG Flasher
10. Wait until it finishes. If it gives any message that the phone is not connected or something like that, disconnect it, turn it off, remove battery and plug it back holding "Volume Down" key. (Automatically goes to Upgrade mode).
11. You do this on your own risk! Good Luck...
12. When flashing ends, disconnect the phone; close the LG update tool and the R&D Test Tool utility.
==========================================================================================================================
but at step 6 when I click <Upgrade Start> then the "LG Mobile Support Tool" pops up and nothing happens.... but what is supposed to happen is that the "Select Country & Language" window is supposed to happen so that i can proceed to step 7
any HELP will be GREATLY APPRECIATED !!! Thanks..

That's a hyperlink to a pdf from LG which contains a hyperlink to its V21Y Gingerbread update utility which works with Windows 7. I tested it and it works.
1. When you run it, after the update window appears, open Windows Task Manager with Ctrl-Alt-Delete and locate the program named "Download Window" and right-click on it and click on "Go To Process".
2. Right-click on the "SmartFlashTool.exe" process and click on "Open File Location". That will open the folder "All-in-On" where all of the files for the V21Y Gingerbread update are located.
3. In that folder there's an application named "LGUnitedMobileDriver...". Run that program to install the drivers then, after the drivers are installed, close the "Download Window" which first appeared on your computer's desktop.
4. Run the "SmartFlashTool.exe" program located in the "All-in-On" folder you previously located and opened through using Windows Task Manager.
5. Follow the instructions in the pdf file you accessed when you first started this process ( http://s3.amazonaws.com/lgforum.com/...pdf?1337877028 ).
Good luck.

Then, if the audio is messed up when on the phone, follow my previous instructions which will apply the LG fix for that.

How to Root LG G Flex 2, G2, G3 on Lollipop!

This root method works on many LG devices, here’s a list of devices it should work on:
LG G Flex 2
LG G Flex
LG G3
LG G2
LG F60
LG Tribute
LG MS395/D393
LG L90
LG Transpyre
LG Volt (LS740)
If your device is not listed, do try it and let us know and we will update this list.
Before we begin, you will need a Windows computer to root your LG device.
Step 1. Go to Settings->About Phone->Software Info then hit on the “Build number” about 5 times until it says “You are now a developer”.
Step 2. Hit back button twice and now you should see “Developer options”, select it.
Step 3. Make sure “USB Debugging” is checked ON.
Step 4. Connect a micro-USB cable from your LG phone to your computer.
Step 5. Download LG_Root.zip and unzip the files.
Step 6. Make sure you have proper drivers installed. Go to Device Manager and find “ADB Interface”. If you don’t see it, download LG Drivers and install it. Then you should be able to see it.
Step 7. Open a command prompt then type:
cd Downloads
cd LG_Root
adb devices
Then unplug and plug the micro-USB on your phone until you see “Allow USB debugging” on the phone.
Select “Always alllow from this computer” then hit “OK”.
Type “adb devices” and you should see a serial number along with “device”. If you see this you are ready.
Step 8. Next copy and paste the following:
adb.exe push busybox /data/local/tmp/ && adb.exe push lg_root.sh /data/local/tmp && adb.exe push UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp
Step 9. Power off your LG phone and unplug the micro-USB cable. Then WHILE HOLDING DOWN the Volume Up button, plug in the micro-USB cable. You should see “Downloading…”.
Step 10. Next, double-click on “ports.bat” and read the COM number next to “DIAG1″. (Note, some users have reported you must do Right Click->Run As Administrator to get this step working although I didn’t have to.)
Step 11. Next, type:
Send_Command.exe \\.\COM24
But replace COM24 with the COM number you found in Step 10.
Then type:
sh /data/local/tmp/lg_root.sh dummy 1 /data/local/tmp/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp/busybox
Step 13. Once rebooted, you should find SuperSU app in your app drawer and a fully rooted phone!
You can download and run Titanium Backup app to verify full root!
NOW YOU ARE FULLY ROOTED:good::good::good::good::good:
Excuse me for posting a URL mods, but you copied this word for word from

I find your lack of acknowledgment rude and you don't even supply links to the download packages (LG_Root.zip) , someone could brick their device if they mess around with random files. At least consider acknowledging the original website and upload the pictures.

[Completed] New Guide for rooting LG Volt(LGLS740)

This guide is for a brand new Boost Mobile LG Volt (LGLS740.) 4/4/2015
I had an LG Realm that I rooted in less than 5 minutes with Kingo Root. Cracked the screen, didn't have time to fix it so I went and bought the LG Volt from Boost Mobile. I've spent around 7 months trying to root the stupid thing with one-click utilities and other tricks and gave up.
Finally I found a guide that got me on the right path and made it happen. Now keep in mind I didn't have to flash back to earlier versions of firmware for anything you can do this on ZV5.
First download the attachment (LG_Root.zip) and unzip it too your desktop or wherever you wish.
make sure you have the LG_unified drivers installed(I did all this in Windows 7 but it shouldn't matter.)
And now I pass you off to this brilliant man's guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...lg-devices-t3049772/post59309508#post59309508
It took me all of two minutes to root the phone. Don't be afraid. To sum it all up:
1. Install drivers, extract LG_root.
2. Make sure the usual is done(Enable USB debugging, allow untrusted vendors)
3. Hold shift and left click in the window to open command line in the proper directory
4. type adb.exe devices in the command window or just paste it from here, and make sure your device shows up.
5. copy and paste this to the command prompt: adb.exe push busybox /data/local/tmp/ && adb.exe push lg_root.sh /data/local/tmp && adb.exe push UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp which pushes the supersu utility to your phone.
6. a: Power off your device
b:When the device is powered off, hold volume up and insert a USB cable connected to the PC
c:Wait for the drivers to install
7. Double click ports.bat (This will give us the COM port in which our device is connected we are looking for the Diag port, mine was com4, com3 didn't even show up in mine so no worries.)
8. Go back to your command prompt window(close the Ports.bat window if you want.) and paste: Send_Command.exe \\.\COM4 (This opens the channel to send commands to the diag port.)
9. Paste this final command to your command prompt when the channel is open: sh /data/local/tmp/lg_root.sh dummy 1 /data/local/tmp/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip /data/local/tmp/busybox
10. Once it's done you can pull the battery.
FYI: I had trouble a couple of times while in firmware mode and had to restart once or twice before I did it all correctly. Also, I know I'm just basically copying Unjustified_Dev's post but it took me around 7 or 8 months to find a way that worked with this phone so I just want it to be easier for people to find and confirm that it works for the LG Volt(LGLS740) when you try to find a way to root it. And NONE of the one click utilities worked for me.
Thanks everyone and especially Unjustified Dev, I hope this helps and brings some attention to this phone model. I remember I had a certain version of the Motorola Razr(V3XX) or something and I could barely ever get anything hacked with it, it was frustrating as hell!

Guide: How to reboot your Nexus 5 without power button

Hi everyone, I would like to share my experience regarding two methods that I have used to revive a Nexus 5 whose power button just will not work. Please use this guide if your Nexus 5 dies due to a low battery and you want to boot (start) it without power button. Following methods have been successfully tested on Win 7 and 10. You can use this guide and keep using your Nexus 5 without repairing the power button. There are other guides and posts which can help you attain locking, unlocking of the screen and remapping the hardware buttons such as volume keys to perform as a power button.
Method 1
Step 1: Download adb/fastboot binaries or use Android SDK for adb/fastboot. If downloaded as a zip, extract it in a folder. It is better to download adb/fastboot minimal, as it is small and can be handy.
Step 1a: Download your phone drivers and install them. If it is a zip folder then extract it in a folder for later use.
Step 2: Plug in the micro USB in your phone. Hold both volume keys on the phone and while holding the keys plug the USB cable in to your PC’s/laptop’s USB port. Your phone will reboot in Bootloader mode where you will see START written at the top of your phone screen which is the prompt to start the system but you cannot select it, as your phone’s power button does not work.
Step 3: Open Command Prompt in windows, which is cmd . Navigate to your adb/fastboot folder which you created while extracting the zip or you might be able to use the commands from anywhere in command prompt if you have installed Android SDK.
Step 3a: Commands only work if you installed adb/fastboot correctly or you are in the binaries folder. While in the corresponding folder,
Type: fastboot devices
123456789 fastboot
The command will show devices connected in fastboot mode just like the above example
If your phone does not appear here then go to control panel>device manager search for any unknown device such as unknown device or android device ; Right click on it and choose update drivers. Do not select the auto search for updated drivers. Select browse my computer for driver and then browse to the folder where you had extracted the drivers choose the right folder and windows should install your device as android bootloader interface device.
Once installed properly, you should see your device by typing the above command again. When successful
Type: fastboot reboot
Now your phone should reboot and start normally.
Method 2
Step 1: Download Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugfresh.
Step 3: Run Nexus Root Toolkit. Let it complete its initialisation and when done its main window will pop up on your desktop. If your using it for the first time it will ask for your phone model and android version. Input the details appropriately, if you do not know the android version you are running choose any build which is at the end of the list.
Step 3a: The toolkit might ask for any dependency files to be downloaded, which it will download automatically. You might be able to skip it but if you use any build or wish not to download them but it won’t harm if you download them as you might wish to use the toolkit later.
Step 4: After completing the above step. Toolkit will finally be ready to use. From the main window of toolkit click Launch under the Advanced Utilities.
Step 5: Choose Reboot System and your phone will reboot normally.
If Toolkit returns, No adb/fastboot device found then follow the next step.
Additional Step: Go to control panel>device manager search for any unknown device such as unknown device or android device ; Right click on it and choose update drivers. Do not select the auto search for updated drivers. Select browse my computer for driver and then browse to the folder where you had extracted the drivers choose the right folder and windows should install your device as android bootloader interface device.
Once drivers are installed, go to Step 5 and it should work for you.
The above methods have been used on Nexus 5 and might be helpful on other Nexus or completely different devices from other brands
For Mods: I have done my good faith search before making this guide. Please let me know if a similar guide exists or I have posted it in a wrong place.
If it has helped anyone please consider a Thanks. By the way it is my first post.
For downloads, please use search engines and you will be happily served.
