I buy phone in USA . Check imei in t-mobile . phone in white list . live in east europe . i click Permanent Unlock but write "Failed" . how unlock ?
you have to wait 40 days before you can ask T-Mobile to unlock your new phone.
maybe someone has a sample letter which should then write to t-mobile
i search video but I do not know whether it's true

So what exactly has T-mobile done? Why can't no one offer an unlock service via the app in a reasonable price? it used to be 30$ now it's over a 100$, why? And will it be back soon?

Thing is, I sent messages to ebay sellers offering unlock for $100+ and they're also saying service is down.
There's simply no unlock service for T-Mobile S7.
We must do something.

I used Swiftunlock.com to unlock mine less than a year ago. It was 20 bucks but was NOT swift. Took a couple of days to get the code but it did work and they sent other unlock codes as well but I'm not sure what they do exactly. I'm using my G930T on AT&T now.
How did you get to unlock your phone? Please advise

I can answer this for you: as long as you are a royal customer or been with tmobile for more than 3 months, you are good to go. I bought my g2x off CL, and I had no problem asking for unlock code from them. Typically, you could request 2-3 unlock codes per a year for free. I requested 4 unlock codes last year from them, and they denied my last request.

It depends on YOUR account status, and not the phone itself nor the original owner. Easiest way is to call 611 and see if you're qualified for an unlock.
hi, guys i just bought a brand new sgs from craiglist and the guy said it was unlocked to tmobile but i think he lied althought the phone is great in perfect working condition...my t-mobile sim card is not activating the phone.

Did you unlock it?
SIM/carrier unlock should be different from bootloader unlock?
Do we have a way of getting this phones unlock code - or does this not apply to this device?
..CDMA device. Regardless if unlocked for another SP will not work on a GSM locked network in the US. GSM networks system will not recognize the CDMA IMEI.

Well as long as the phone isn't reported lost or stolen you should have the unlock within 48 hours is what they'll tell you ( I had it the day after I called, waited less than 24 hours) and it's really simple but I think it's only free if you are a current T-Mobile customer.

I was looking to buy a used Nexus 5 for a nominal price from eBay, but the phone is locked to a carrier that I don't want to switch to. Is there someone on the forum who can provide unlock codes? I tried doing Google searches, but all of them return unlocking guide for the bootloader. Has anyone unlocked their Nexus 5?
It comes unlocked. It isn't locked to any carrier.

This has come up many times. As the others said, All N5's, even those sold by carriers, are unlocked.
I would use the seller's ignorance against him to get a better price. Tell him it's going to cost you $40 to unlock it and that he's going to have a tough time selling it locked to a carrier. You'll take it if he knocks off the cost of unlocking

If you are coming from tmobile might I suggest MetroPCS. They run off of tmobile network so your coverage shouldn't change.

In my area, cricket has better coverage for way cheaper. If your coverage is fine, MetroPCS might be a good fit.

Cricket was one that I was looking at. . seems pretty good coverage in my area. It runs off att tower. But does simple mobile also run of att?

Look through the bill in my.t-mobile.com, it will break down every charge, if you need help, go to a store ask the rep nicely to help you figure it out. As long as customers aren't rude about it, we're happy to help people sort out what's going on

I actually did that. But they say to call 1800 cuz they can't see anything. He said it just said there where charge for something but dint say what exactly was.. And than the 1800 number said the same thing. They they told me that the bill can't be adjusted.. That's what got me upset. They are charging me for extra stuff and they can't even tell me what it is... I made my regular month payment and they said they will look into the issue. Because they admit it not normal.. Makes no since

I heard a little bit about it on Christmas from a family friend but he didn't really explain it well. My T-Mobile bill seems kind of high too but I don't like to deal with the hassle of switching plus I like being able to jump every year. Thanks for the info ?
Well jump is only good for people with good credit. I still had to put a down payment of 400$ so I'm definitely not giving this phone back to tmbile
