New factory images! Except for the Nexus Player. - Nexus Player General

Well, the April security bulletin came yesterday, and the newest factory images were posted, but strangely, fugu doesn't seem to have one.
I suppose I'm not too worried about Google dropping support for the NP any time soon, because it did get the developer preview for Android N, but I'm not holding my breath for an OTA update this month. It is odd though; nothing about that bulletin indicates changes that don't apply to this device.

For reasons that haven't been specified yet, the April builds labeled "MOB30D" for Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi, Nexus 9 (Wi-Fi) and Nexus Player have been removed from the Nexus Factory Image page.
I uploaded it on the mirror, so, you can download if you want flash it.

Thanks. However I thought they had been removed because of boot issues. Does the Nexus player image work OK?

[Q] My Nexus S can't be upgraded to 2.3.3

Device: Nexus S
Carrier: T-mobile
Country / Language: The U.S.
OS / Browser / build number (if applicable): 2.3.2
Hello, my cell phone is Nexus S.
The Android version is 2.3.2 now. I want to upgrade to 2.3.3.
However, when I click 'System updates' button in my Nexus S, it says 'Your system is currently up to date.'
Recently, I reset my Nexus S. How can I fix this problem?
Do I have to upgrade manually? I wanna upgrade in my cell phone..
I'm still waiting for the OTA too so I guess they ended the distribution. Who knows
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
Eventually google will flag your IMEI to receive the update. Theres no telling when you'll be receiving the update or if they're still actively pushing it out. If you don't want to wait then you could manually update by downloading the rom file from the xda thread and flashing it yourself. Otherwise, its the waiting game.

There is a report that the OTA isnt going through. Not sure why, just manually flash it. It's the same as a OTA.
be aware that a LOT of people are complaining about the color correction on the 2.3.3 update....read up on it first, before doing the update
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=971987
I personally don't mind, but a LOT of people do.
Dont keep waiting for the OTA. Manually update your phone.
I dont believe Google would take so long for the OTA...it is not that everyone born in the world have 2-3 Nexus S each that it takes forever for the OTA to come through...I wonder if they have stopped the OTAs so go ahead and do it manually...
There would be a minor hiccup on how the screen looks after the update...I didnt have a major heartbreaking screen after updating.
CAUTION: Check your version before you update

So how does this help our N5? I am sure when they fix the camera and audio it will be a specific N5 update.

Doesn't list N5 there but nevertheless its a new Android version and will be the new base for AOSP-based custom ROMs.
Is it for N5?

Just installed it myself on my Nexus 7 (2013). Nothing hugely noticeable. On the first boot, my wallpaper was messed up, so I reset it, and it's been fine since.
Other things to note is that it restores the stock recovery and you will lose root.

Yep. I used WugFresh's Nexus Toolkit. Because it hasn't been updated for KRT16S yet, it will prompt you to download the boot.img for KRT16O.
I then clicked Advanced, set Boot/Flash Image to Flash (Permanent) then clicked Recovery. It then flashed TWRP to the device, from which I flashed the 1.69 SuperSU zip. I haven't bothered to reflash the KRT16S boot.img yet, but I'm downloading as we speak.

Not able to update my nexus 5 to KitKat 4.4.4 using OTA

I saw on the Internet that KitKat 4.4.4 with security bug fixes has been launched only for nexus 5 through OTA but when I check for updates, the phone says your system is up to date. I'm running stock android 4.4.3 unrooted. Why is this happening? Any help regarding this?
P.S. - I don't want to update using factory images. Only using OTA. Want to know why my phone is unable to get the update.
Thank you

They roll out in stages. You'll have to be patient or check out the ota help in the general forum and download the ota zip

Floating around here are stock 4.4.4 zips you can flash.

Don't worry. I've not received it either. Google sucks with updates and gives absolutely no change log or support. Apple walks all over them in this area. I've read it may take two to three weeks for everyone to get it.

and thats why on update day at apple it takes 12+ hrs for the update to download because their servers are hammered.
pick your poison.
I'd definitely take the staged rollout. No question. Then again, I never wait for an ota. There are plenty of other options available if you're not patient enough to wait. Even waiting for the ota, you'll still get the update before most other devices. Some won't get it at all. Wait, or go a different route. Simple.

I don't understand why people who are so desperate for the update don't just install a custom recovery and flash the zip.
Or just adb sideload like a savage.

[Q] Android L roll out in Australia?

I read that it was already rolling out on N5 phones in some parts of the world. Anyone know when it will be available as a system update in Australia?
I live in Australia currently actually, and I have the Android L update. You have to download the factory image from here - http://developer.android.com/preview/setup-sdk.html#top (you have to scroll down and click on hammerhead) - and then flash it on your phone. Be warned this is a developer preview, while I am using it for my daily driver, it may not be for you. Be warned you also have to completely wipe your phone when you flash this, unless you do some modifications to the flash.bat to not wipe your device.

No the OTA isn't rolling out, lol. It was just announced and they released a DEVELOPER PREVIEW.... NOT FACTORY IMAGES. There is a difference. The link provided to you above is just that. There's no factory image or OTA for Android 'L' at this time. When there is, it will be posted at this link. Until then, it's just a preview. No source code, no kernel sources, just a preview.

It is NOT rolling out yet. It's a developer preview meant to help developers update their apps. I'd say around September or October we'll see an actual roll out to our devices.

As others have said, there is no OTA, just a developer preview that isn't meant for daily use.
And OTAs aren't region specific, they start getting rolled out at the same time.
AndroidL "official" release is in Autumn

New OTA update G935VVRU4BQC5

Still haven't received it but it looks like a junk update.
NRD90M.G935VVRU4BQC5
This software update provides the latest enhancements for Enterprise customers.
One Talk℠ from Verizon:
The Galaxy S7 edge now supports One Talk, connecting your office and mobile devices with one number.
App update:
Amazon Shopping (version 8.1.1)
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-update/
Edit: I received it and it updated Android security patch level to April
Are you sure that the OTA Firmware isn't actually a 7.0+ Nougat Build? The QC builds that I've seen so far have all been at least base 7.0 Nougat.
I don't have a S7 vzw. Yet. Probably within a few days.

I got this pushed to me too, updating now.
I just checked system updates. There is a new one for me, it include Verizon One Talk and some security updates. Don't k ow if it's QC5. I'm downloading now.

Yep. You can return to stock and keep some directory changes you made by using their desktop Verizon Software Recovery utility for Samsung. You'd lose root but the phone will get and install OTA updates.

I know we will lose root if we take this update but is the update still rootable? I'm rooted on QA4 still and refused to take this update yet as I just received the notification today(Tuesday 5/2/17). I like being rooted with dual speaker mod,and V4A installed. Can anybody confirm if this version is rootable using the Nougat root method? How can I disable the uodates?

If you go to @jrkruse "root for nougat" thread and follow his guide, you'll be able to root the qc5firmware.

I am already on BQC5 and just this morning I got a new system software update downloaded, ready to install message. Odd thing is in the past, prior to BQC5 the notification showed the build number, date and what was changing. Now it doesn't show me anything. It just says there is an update do you want to install now or later.....
Anyone have info on this "unknown" system update?
Looks like this
Software Update G930VVRS4BQC9 for Samsung Galaxy S7 and G935VVRS4BQC9 Galaxy S7 Edge
Android May security update.
Device Stability improvements, bug fixes.
Further improvements to performance.
http://sihmar.com/software-update-g930vvrs4bqc9-galaxy-s7-edge/
Should say further improvements to guaranteeing random lag.
