Hello,
I saw that Android 4.4 finally should run good on devices, specially devices with low memory like the HTC Sensation 4G.
I wonder if there is already an android 4.4 rom that works with the htc sensation.
I don't need HTC Sense or anything

It was annouced today, not released yet. I think that we wont get android 4.4 running since it requires linux 3.8 kernel. We have 3.0 kernel for sense and aosp + 3.4 kernel for sense

Where does it say that android 4.4 requires a 3.8 kernel?
since they are heavily pushing the fact that it runs on everything down to phones with 512mb ram i don't think they'd place that heavy a requirement on it.
My nexus 7 only has a 3.1 kernel and that'll definitely be getting the upgrade straight from google.

Source on that confirmation?
I highly doubt it won't run on anything lower than 3.8, I know Google has been 'working with' a 3.8 kernel but it should be able to be ported to a lower version I think.
Only thing to worry about would be it relying on having ion implemented, then our camera won't work.

This is a new version of Android, of course someone will get it to run. Just because we don't have it now, doesn't mean we will ever have it. With the current Linux version that we use for AOSP dead, someone is bound to be working on getting 3.4 or 3.8 running on the Sensation.

3.8 k may be impossible because I bet qcom have not made any drivers for our chipset compactible with 3.8

Business is business, updating drivers for urs chipsets would be only a waste of money. They arent a charity organisation. I also would love to have fully working android 4.4 with ion 3.8 kernel but I also understand qualcomm

While 4.4 has been released on the Nexus 5, it will take some time before it's available on other devices, let alone lower end devices.
Rather than asking about a 4.4 ROM, just try being patient until it arrives
Questions always belong in the Q&A forum though, definitely not in development. Please remember that in future.

Hey guys,
this is a discussion to talk about the newest Android os 4.4 ( Kitkat ).
Why could this version of Android be a big step for our phone?
Because it's made to run on low end devices with 512mb of ram or more ( Ace II has 768mb ).
Android 4.4 Kitkat has also many performance improvements.
Link for all new feature of Android 4.4: http://developer.android.com/about/versions/kitkat.html
and http://www.android.com/versions/kit-kat-4-4/ .
Eheh better cm11 ^_^
i'm waiting AOSP Android 4.4
Irony, it's made to run on low end devices with 512 ram, but Samsung Nexus won't be updated to 4.4. ( HD display, 1GB Ram, Dual Core)
I hope one day we will get CM10.3 / CM11? by TeamCanjica.
I really hope this comes to the Ace II. I've tried various roms and most work to a good degree but still have problems which I don't care about but my girl wants a phone that just works so an official release would be good but anything that works is nice. Hoping to see some rapid progress on this one, I know their are plenty of excited devs to make it happen
Who knows, maybe, i hope so. But knowing that our phone can not support properly JB ( maybe samsung developers didnt make it right) it will be difficult to make it work. Maybe our XDA developers will be able to make it for Ace 2. i hope soon.
Lots of people seem to think it's coming to the Ace but I think that's optimistic, looks like it wont run it even if it is designed for better performance with less resources. Nothing on the Dev forums about 4.4 at the moment but I've no doubt they'll do it. 'tis a bit early yet
CM will be faster than stock 4.4. AOSP will be faster than CM. It's true.

Btw new launcher ^^

We are not in a rush to get 4.4 builds out . We are going to continue the process of working on CM 10.2 M1 - getting that out the door and onto your devices. Further, we will 'finish' the 10.2 code base, similar to what we did with 10.1.

Seem some posts from Rox talking about 4.4 and where he wants to go with his development. He's for sure looking into it, I'm hoping he gets the CM10.2 rom stable before he moves on. Not everyone wants to flash new builds all the time.
The KItKat would be great for mod development AND its suitable for low ram device, but i disappointed nexus don't get update....:crying:
AOSP wolud be great. Fast as Nexus, minimal features. But it's hard to port.

To all our hard working devs, since the sources are up for our latest kernel and for android 4.4 too, can we expect a start for kitkat on our devices. Because sony has forgot to make a bugless ROM and there is less hope for kitkat on our devices by Sony

I accept that the development is slow but in my view, there are two reasons for that. One is we already hoped for the official 4.2 and it is here. there are guyz who prefer stock over custom of same version so there will be less demand for that and hence less feedback and the other reason is our Xl isn't too old for getting all this in just a wave. So stay calm and wait for the devs to make there decisions.
In my view, if the sony is poviding the stock 4.2 and we have freedom of xposed then why spend our precious time in building a less buggy 4.2 than stock. build all new kitkat
i'm with you...straight for 4.4 KITKAT
but i'am until now still waiting for CM....
***from the bottom of my heart i really2 thanks for dev for hard work because without them, i can't custom or modify my HH***

No s***, we don't have a proper custom rom,(other than Serjar's, which is based on Stock rom) How will we expect to see a kit kat rom by the end of this year? we're half way through November lol..
I doubt we'll get a Kit kat room anytime soon maybe sometime next year. For now we should focus on a proper kernel that gives us CWM for 4.2.2.

Some developers are working in a kitkat ROM for the Motorola Defy, a two years old phone, with a single core and 512 mbs on RAM. It's about the real interest of the devs. on working in certain devices, unfortunately I don't see any important progress in our Xperia L but I got hope.

Yee. Sony won't release 4.4 for us till the Z line get it. Maybe next year. Till the end of this year we might see CM but not 4.4 one but 4.2.2 one.
About the kernel I can try, just need to resize my virtualbox HDD and try to compile stock kernel with CWM.

There is no ROM here, if you're wanting a stable ROM where wifi, Bluetooth and camera works then use C n T by serjar, otherwise stay on stock Rom.
Also you might wanna take note of your firmware just in case.

I hope they are working on MM, but has anybody a download link of the latest lp rom? They have disappeared from the Webpage...
