During Phone Calls Home (Soft) Keys and Notification Bar Disabled - AT&T LG V10

I'm not sure if this is an AT&T LG V10 "feature", but I haven't used the phone in its virgin state (non-rooted) because I rooted the phone right away. I have an issue with the AT&T LG V10 with Android 5.1.1, H90010f "10f". Whenever I make a phone call, the home (soft) keys at the bottom of the screen his disabled and hidden from view and the notification status cannot be used, such that swiping down does nothing. I checked the Display > Home touch buttons > Hide Home touch buttons to make sure that nothing is disabled, but nothing there.
Anybody experienced this situation and knows a fix?

It doesn't disappear on the unrooted or rooted version of the phone so I don't think that's the issue. Do you have any Xposed modules installed that may be causing this issue perhaps (i.e. gravity box)?

Thanks for confirming. I think some other whacky things are a result of using Debloater v3.90 to disable stock apps and other apps caused issues with my phone, especially my second screen to become nearly disabled.
I'll most likely do a factory reset tonight since that was indicated to fix the second screen issue, so it'll most likely fix the soft keys disappearing as well.
Update: I did a factory reset and everything is fully functional as originally designed for. This restored the second screen functionality and allowed me to multitask and/or use the notification area while during a phone call.

[Q] Black Screen on Wakeup?

I just started having this "bug" yesterday. Basically, what happens (randomly) is that when I press the power button, remove the stylus, or slide the phone open to wake it up I'll be met with a black/blank screen. The backlighting will be on, and the phone is responsive (can receive messages, make calls, sounds/notifications work), but I won't be able to use the screen. If I use the power button to turn the screen back off and wait a few seconds, the screen might start working again. This is completely random and I cannot duplicate it with any guaranteed process, but it seems to be when the phone is waking up from standby. After a soft reset, probably half of the time I'll be met with this same delima, which leads me to believe it's hardware and not completely software.
At the same time the phone is also struggling to re-paint the screen from the change of Landscape-to-Portrait and visa versa. Also opening and closing windows to get back to the today screen also cause a problem. I've disabled TF3D to see if that makes a difference, it doesn't. I have a blank today screen with no plugins to free up the system resources, and am still having this issue.
I'm using JD's Rom (probably around 1.3, it's been running fine with no issues up to this point).
I'm also using S2U2 1.35 (if that makes any difference, haven't had any problems until recently)
The phone has never been dropped, it's in InvisibleShield, and normally sits on my desk charging all day.
This started happening last night for no apparent reason and it's really starting to irratate me.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
Re the black screen:
Sounds like its software related. For example, I sometimes have this if I leave PocketTwit in the foreground and turn off phone. What software did you install yesterday? Also, do you try to press the home key and see if that clears the screen?
After more testing..
After some more fiddling around with the phone I'm about 90% certain it's a hardware issue. I noticed that when I slide the keyboard out if the slide portion is past the number line then the screen will stay on, but not update. I don't know how well I can explain it. If I'm typing and hold the screen to keep it from opening all the way then I can see the letters/words appear (in txt msg/email), but if I let the screen goes and it slides all the way open then the screen will stay on and only show what has already happened, any more typed characters will not appear, but if I move the screen back to the number row then the screen will re-draw and update what has happened.
Is this something that Sprint should fix no questions asked?

The last piece of software I installed was Gyrator 2 on Friday-ish. Thinking that it was the problem, I removed it using MemMaid. I'm going to give the phone a flash tonight and see if it is software related (hoping for the easy fix) but as the post above says, I'm almost certain it's a hardware issue. I just wish I knew how it happened. . . So much for that time putting those InvShld on.
Final Update (this can be closed)
I took it into a Sprint store and they replaced the "flip" on the top for free (I have insurance).
Point of the story/thread, this can be closed, it was a hardware issue, and now it's fixed.

Recents button stopped working

Hello dear XDA Users.
I own a Galaxy S6. After a hour of walking in rainy weather, the recents button of my galaxy s6 stopped working. I also noticed that the backlight of recents and back key were also not woking. I immediately thought that it was a hardware problem. I take a look inside the sim tray for water indicatior, however it was still white and there arent any other problems on the device. I also got into the service menu for tests and I couldnt get any feedback from the button.
The funny part starts here:
After I installed Galaxy Button backlight app just to see what will happen if i disable and enable them manually, backlight of the buttons started working again. So I think that It may be a software issue and flashed the stock firmware using Odin, my recents button was still not working.
Are there any methods would you like to suggest me in case of this error being a software problem?
If I can't find a solution, I am going to request a new device from warranty.(which means I am going to be a trouble for them )

LG G Pro 2 Mini View CRASHES MY PHONE.

Hello all.
My mother is using an LG G Pro 2 D838 16GB White running on bone stock 5.0.1 for some months now. The phone is quite large and to make it a bit more useful to her I introduced her to Mini View, where you shrink the UI to a more manageable size. You swipe from left-to-right from the navigation bars to activate (or v.v.) -- MORE INFORMATION AT THIS ARTICLE HERE. http://www.androidcentral.com/lg-mini-view
It used to work well, but one day it stopped working. I swipe from the navigation bar and it CRASHES THE WHOLE PHONE. I cannot interact with the buttons nor access the notification bar up top. I cannot even toggle the power menu when I hold down the power key, I have to remove the battery and reattach it to force reboot.
Is the phone at this point
1/ soft-bricked that if I went to recovery mode I may never leave it and go on perpetual bootloop,
2/ with the wrong settings that have been ticked by accident, or
3/ fixable by wiping cache partition or factory resetting it?
Thank you for an earnest response.

Power button / Screen Wake Suddenly don't work

Hey guys,
strange and frustrating problem. I was using my phone pretty extensively today (although nothing crazy), mostly thanks to Pokemon Go. Tonight after using my phone normally, I went to press the power button to turn the screen off and nothing happened. I was able to reboot (by changing one of the long-press actions to bring up the power menu via GravityBox) and then was unable to power on the phone. It seems like my hardware power button has suddenly become unresponsive. This leaves me unable to power on/off the phone, including booting into the bootloader. Also, I seem to be unable to wake my phone up by double tapping the screen or swiping up.
The phone otherwise functions fine. If I get a notification, the screen wakes up and I can use the phone. Otherwise, the only way I've been able to get into the phone is by connecting it to a computer and issuing ADB commands. The IR blaster functions fine which makes me think it's not the hardware button?
Has this happened to anyone else before? Can the power button just break like that without any water / physical damage? The fact that I also can't wake the screen makes me think it's a software issue. One other thing I suspect is that my phone abruptly died yesterday (battery died despite software thinking it still had juice left). In the past, with the modified kernel / rom, this has resulted in some nasty issues, including 4G not working and the Android system process basically exploding. I thought I lucked out when I powered it on after that, but maybe it just took a day for this issue to manifest itself.
I'm going to make a NANDROID backup and try flashing a few different things to see if I can fix it. I'll post my progress here.
Current build:
- Verizon M8, S-OFF
- TWRP
- Android GPE 6.0 (MRA58K.H13)
Edit: I haven't been able to find a fix. I'm a bit afraid to try a full RUU since I can't use the hardware keys to reboot into the bootloader should something go wrong. It may just be that my PWR hardware button is f'd which really sucks. I'm not sure I'm up to cracking open the phone to fix it. In the meantime I downloaded an app called Gravity Screen On/Off which uses the phone's proximity sensor to wake the screen up and it seems to work ok for now.

Hardkey recent app is stop working and cause lag, and light on back key is off

I have one SM-G920F s6 flat, one day on 2016 my recent apps work weirdly it keeps press the recent apps and of course I can't use my phone and finally installed all one gesture app to disable my recent button. but there is a problem, my phone is laggy after I do this because my phone keeps press the recent button continually even I disable it.
if I go to service center, is it my screen will be open it? I don;t want that
so anyone knows why this happened? and can I disable it with root or anything to get off my lag on my phone? thank you so much for replying. sorry for my bad English
My guess is liquid damage on the charging port / recent key area causing it to not work properly.
It would have to be opened up to either get the charging port replaced or liquid damage cleaned but the problem is the screen NEEDs to be removed if charging port were to be replaced.
