Hi, I have managed to finally update my Vietnam HTC One E8 dual SIM (MEC_DUGL) to Android 6.0. The problem that cause the error is the error recovery file, hence I re-install the RUU to get the correct recovery.img file. Below are the steps :
Note : Try with your own risk
1. My device is currently stock 5.0.2 no root and locked. Before starting the update process please make sure to backup all of your important data. Im using the stock HTC backup software, when you restore your device after you finished your update process, it will re-install your currently installed apps , contacts, settings, etc.
2. Download RUU for your device here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
I downloaded :
[Vietnam][DUAL][M8sd][mec_dugl][CID HTC__059][OPAJ20000] :
[Lollipop 5.0.1][2.35.425.2] : LINK
Seems not match with my current software (5.0.2), but eventually it will do the magic.
3. Flash RUU. NOTE : You will lose all of your data in your internal phone memory. Make sure to backup all of your important files.
Steps:
1) Download RUU.
2) Rename RUU to 0PAJIMG.zip (the first character is a zero, NOT A LETTER O)
3) Put renamed 0PAJIMG.zip on your external_SD
4) Boot into your bootloader and make sure your in hboot and let it update its RUU.
5) No PC, no adb, no fastboot, no terminal is needed, just a root explorer to rename and transfer the renamed RUU file to external_sd
6) After you have updated your RUU, make sure to remove the 0PAJIMG.zip from your external_sd because it will ask to update your RUU everytime your reboot to your bootloader which it is technically supposed to do but its unnecessary after you have done it once (unless you are planning on flashing RUU again).
7) Done!
Source : http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/help/htc-one-e8-mid-cid-ruu-ota-twrp-t2903210
4. Reboot your phone, now your phone is back to factory stock, connect it to wifi, no need to set up any account, just go directly to software update from Settings > About > Software Updates. Just install all the available software updates (5.0.2 > 6.0 part 1 > 6.0 part 2).
5. BOOM! Your HTC One E8 now runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
6. Restore your phone from the stock HTC Backup Software.
7. Done

Hello bataskhayal, can you please tell me if the update was worth it? Are there any bugs in the MM rom compared to the Lollipop? Battery life, wi-fi etc? Thanks!

Root Device
Try Rooting and installing a custom rom.
its quite easy

The thing is I'm in the exact situation and I for one don't want a custom ROM, I just want to make the device work as it should and update via OTA....that's it. I have a very similar situation, I'm from Romania and I have the Vietname SW version...mec_dugl with CID__059. Theoretically just by doing the RUU update as bataskhayal did I should be able to do the update as well. If it's only a matter of difference within the recovery...

Hiya wihandy,
My HTC One E8 Dual SIM was a Chinese version M8SW which I converted to Europe/UK version and then updated to MM - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-e8/general/tedious-update-m8sw-to-marshmallow-twrp-t3346318
The stock Sense7 MM is good - I was using near stock Sense6 LL rooted and with Xposed framework before and must say that stock Sense7 MM is as good if not better than Sense6 LL.
For me battery life is better in MM but the only thing is unfortunately, I cannot use Xposed framework anymore :crying: Since then, I have moved on to Sense8 MM but that is a custom rom which you are not interested in. Still cannot have Xposed :crying: but have HTC's so called Sense8 which is even smoother than Sense7!!! Note this is just my opinion
If you are brave enough, you can try my TWRP backups but make sure you have your own backups or know how to get back to stock.
Good luck!

hi generalugh28,

i'm worried that something will go wrong during the process and i won't know what to do.
but thank you for posting

i'm a problem
hi, every body
my phone is rooted & have install custom rom , what can i do if i want to back official rom?

Hello, after doing the same procedure as "bataskhayal" and "wihandy" I managed to install the latest updates (up to Android 6). However am I the only one who feels that the phone is slower than before? I noticed a couple of bugs with Android MM:
- gestures work randomly (most of the times they don't work at all) even with the g-sensor calibration
- even when I had Android 5.0 I activated the option which lowers the sound when someone calls you and you pick up the phone (it worked really well); now if I pick it up it usually doesn't lower the ringing volume and if it does the general volume remains lower after finishing the call....I missed a couple of calls due to this
- after a full charge the battery percentage shows 100% but after I disconnect the charger and leave the phone for 5-10 minute without doing anything the battery level goes to 97%....wtf?!?
And these are only a couple of bugs I found after doing the update.....is the Lollipop version more stable or only I had encountered these errors so far and it's a matter of bad luck?

Hi All,
Can anybody help me for rooting my HTC One E8 Dual Sim (India) phone

Hello there,
Thanks for your post, I have done exactly as you have said and I did manage to get MM 6.0.1 on my device.
However every time I power down or restart the device, its stuck on a boot loop. I get the apps are optimising screen and then device restarts and the same thing repeats.
I wiped the cache partition and the problem still persists. Everytime I need to hard reset the phone to get it back to normal.
Am I missing something here or does anyone else have the same issue?

I have the same issue with double to tap to wake. Doesn't work always, but I had it on out of the box 5.0.2 Lollipop too.
Pick up to lower volume works fine for me, don't have any issue with it as of now.
Battery backup seems to be better than it was on Lollipop.

Hello,
I didnt experience any bootloop after updating my HTC One E8 to Marshmallow, but yes i always get the apps optimising screen, but no bootloop. Perhaps you should consider to do factory reset with your phone, and try to restore all your apps and data manually using Playstore and Google accounts. The phone didnt slow down or lag at least for me. It still buttery smooth doing the usual daily tasks minus the gaming.
Yes double tap to wake is a persistent issue with the Marshmallow update, after few days of usage without restarting the phone, the double tap to wake function is magically not working, im not sure why, but this maybe a bug from the firmware.
I have sold my E8 so maybe this is the last post for me. Enjoy your device while its working because to be honest this is one of my best phone to date.

Thanks for your reply.
When you say you got apps optimising screen, did it just happen once and phone was good to go or did it keep happening with phone restarting several times before you got to the home screen?
So far factory reset seems the only option to get the phone back running once restarted.
Yes this is a very good device for the price, this factory reset to restart is the only bummer.
Enjoy your new device. Cheers!

I just got my HTC One E8 repaired (while trying to flash India ROM, I had lost network bands and IMEI on both slots). Now, I can get signal on both SIMs.
I tried to update the phone's software but while trying to update it is giving me message

(Only issue I think is that it is showing Product Code for MEC_DUGL (China) whereas it should be MEC_DWGL (India).
Please note that the device was HTC One E8 M8Sw (China version) which I converted to India version by changing CID, MID and flashing RUU.)
Please advise what needs to be done so that I can get official updates and be able to install them without issues.

Not able to update Verizon HTC ONE M8 to Android 4.4.3

Hello!
I have a Verizon HTC ONE M8 that no matter what it won't download the new update. I've bought 3 of them (identical) 1 month ago from Ebay. One of them was able to receive the update. On the other two i keep receiving the following message: "We were not able to download this update. To retry, go to Settings > Software update. "
My device is S-off (after a lot of effort). I've tried to get rid of all the bloatware and many more by flashing a new ROM. I have tried flashing ViperROM, ARHD, Clean ROM using TWRP Recovery, without any success. All of my attempts got stuck at the booting screen for more than 30 minutes without any success of booting into the OS. Clean ROM even refused to flash properly. Keep in mind that all the ROMs that I've flashed were based on 4.4.2 firmware, the one that my phone came with, not 4.4.3. I've searched on this forum for a flashable 4.4.3 OTA update, but no success either. What's to be done !?!? All my attempts of installing a new OS failed. Please HELP!
P.S: I'm a newbie when it comes to all of this stuff. First time doing S-off/ installing custom ROMs.

You probably won't be able to take the OTA with a custom recovery, it has to be stock. Best bet is to flash the 4.4.3 firmware from the development section since you're s-off, then flash an already rooted stock 4.4.3 rom. It's been a while since I've done this stuff so if I mentioned some incorrect info, my apologies.

I flashed back again the stock ROM and i keep receiving the same message over and over again. No TWRP recovery this time, just the red triangle. I guess my best bet is to try and flash the CleanROM ODEX 4.4.3 as mentinoned here: @branmuffin17
I'll come back with the results.

If you are on the old firmware you need to update firmware separately.
And btw, if you freeze just one system app that can cause a Vzw ota to fail.
Question.....Is the phone active on your account? I also had one in the drawer and got the same error till I switched it to the active device on my account.
It honestly sounds like there is something preventing the ota to even download, if that's the case use dottat's ruu to return to a clean slate, if it still won't download the OTA then I would be willing to bet money that they are defective or not genuine Verizon M8s And if I were to guess it's more of the latter that would be the only valid reason every Rom you've tried fails no matter what.

Based on what you said i went on some websites to check the IMEI/ESN of the device it seems to be OK. After that i went to the Verizon Wireless website to try an activate my phone and when it comes to "Enter your Device ID to check eligibility", I type in the IMEI and the following message apears: "The phone associated with the Device ID you entered is not compatible with the Verizon Wireless network." To me is strange because on the back of the phone it says Verizon 4G LTE. When it comes to the identity of the phone it is a HTC6525LVW. The phone is GSM Unlocked (I use my phone in Europe so i needed it to be GSM unlocked). More strange it is to me that i don't receive the same message when i type in the IMEI of the others Verizon GSM unlocked HTC's ONE M8 that i bought along with this one.
I guess my only chance is to flash the new firmware @here[and after that flash the Deoxed 4.4.3 Stock Clean ROM @here. If it's not going to work i really don't know what's else it's to be done.

Google goophone or knock off gs4, the goophone also has an m8 now too... Even with all the branding and everything. And I've seen some gs4s that run what appears to be TouchWiz cloned to a T.
I'd try calling vzw and talk to a rep and it's possible that they could give you more info other than just what the site said.

So I did what I've said:
1. Installed firmware provided here @Tigerstown
2. Installed the Odex Stock Rooted ROM proivede here: @scrosler
I am pleased to announce you that everything is fully functional now
Phone is showing:
Android Version: 4.4.3
Software number: CleanROM 2.0.0 (after flashing it from @here)
Baseband version: 1.09.20.0702
Bulid number: 2.21.605.2 CL362279 release-keys
After managing to flash the 4.4.3 version of Android all went up without any problem. Tried to ARHD but it's still not booting. After that installed ViperROM which went up all, but to me it is not the pure HTC Sense 6 experience i was looking about and all that customization is to much for me, so i flashed CleanROM 2.0.0 and here I am. Everything is as it should be: no bloatware, pure HTC Sense 6, optimized performance... and above all the mobile hotspot is now fully functional, not to mention the EXT SAVER.
As a conclusion, to all that guys that are not able to update to the 4.4.3 version via the OTA updates provided by Verizon do what I did above (steps 1 and 2).
ATTENTION: Your device needs to be S-Off and bootloader unlocked + custom recovery!!!
Another thing worth to be mentioned: it would be great if the admins could flag this thread, cause I've seen so many users on different forums that are not able to update via the OTAs.
In the end i would like to thank to all the devs out there for their work and to the users for their support. Cheers!:highfive:

Debrand from FRD-AL00 to FRD-L09 and update to Nougat.

As some of you might know, I recently bought FRD-AL00 variant of this amazing phone. For those who doesn't know, this is Chinese variant with 4GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Its European equivalent is FRD-L09 and from same rationale, FRD-AL10 and FRD-L19 are equivalents but it has 64GB of internal storage.
I bought it at AliExpress and it came flashed with FRD-L19C432B131 (wrong firmware). The phone were really unstable, it was rebooting very often, specially when I played videos on YouTube or when phone was under heavy load (low memory and many apps opened).
My first try: Debrand to right EU version (FRD-L09). I did it doing standard procedures: Unlock bootloader/TWRP/Root/Debrand/Flash (FRD-L09C432B131). I followed these tutorials:
** WARNING: Backup your data cause this procedure wipes everything. **
** Do it at your own risk **
1) Unlock bootloader/Install TWRP/Root:
Followed this procedure: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/guide-unlock-bootloader-tested-root-t3443946
1.1) For this step I ran DCUnlocker because I coudn't get my unlock code from Huawei
1.2) Warning: Pay attention and install right version of TWRP, there are two links to download
1.3) Flash superSU
1.3.1) Download SuperSU
1.3.2) Flash it through TWRP
1.3.2.1) Power off and then press volume up + power (unplug USB)
1.3.2.2) Press "Install", select SuperSU ZIP and flash it. Now you're root
2) Debrand using SRKTool
Followed steps in this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZVsIKtdgV4&t=310s
2.1) I skipped step to change build.prop, cause right after debrand I reflashed new ROM
2.2) Warning: Don't forget to enable USB debugging, grant access to your computer and grant access to SRKTool actions in SuperSU (it will ask for permission when SRK tries to change something). Make sure SuperSU is running
2.3) After reboot, just power off your phone and move to next step
3) Flash EU ROM
3.1) Make sure you copied ROM FRD-AL09C432B131 and unziped at folder dload on your SDCard
3.2) Press Volume UP + Volume Down + Power
3.3) At this point, your phone might enter in Huawei's recovery mode and start flashing new ROM. It takes about 5 ~ 10 minutes
Now. I realized even "right" ROM for similar model were still unstable. Actually nothing has changed. My next attempt: Nougat!
4) Update to Nougat
This step were simpler. Just execute Charles method and it works seamsless:
Charles Method: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69885525&postcount=11
Other responses for different variants: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/how-to/various-responses-charles-app-b360-t3541342
In my case (FRD-L09C432B131), the response I used was:
Code:
{
"status": "0",
"autoPollingCycle": "1",
"components": [{
"name": "FRD-L09C432B360",
"version": "FRD-L09C432B360",

"url": "http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G753/g104/v73856/f1/"
}]
}
PS: did not lost any data on this upgrade but backup, just to make sure you won't loose anything.
Finally...
Now, phone is running FRD-L09C432B360 and seems to be very stable.

I bought the phone AL00 with Noagat on board same as author wrote, but my experience was not good with it, same symptoms as in beginning of this post... After my trying to update to newer Noagat ROM, it was downloaded, flashed and phone could not boot.
So i had to made return to emui 4.1 by using rollback ROM and 3 buttons method. Same unstable work, i finished with going back to AL00 brand and ROM, now it works good, anyway AL00 ROMS multilingual and it is not hard to install all google environment on this ROM...
I have non of complaints on phone, exept i live in Serbia, and my mobile carrier is Telenor. LTE800 frequency on 4G its not supported on FRD-AL00. Only that....

Hello, i am trying to rebrand my new honor 8 from China. It's an FRD-AL10 with EMUI 5. Do i proceed with the steps as seen in the first post?
Edit: I've bricked it. Any suggestions?
This thread is a oneway ticket to the brick =(

Huawei Mate 9 - A Combination Of Issues

Hello dev's !
So I am surfing alot of threads here lately and I finally have this chance to post my problem & hopefully get some help regarding my problem.
Device Info - MHA-L29C185... (Middle East Version - Dual SIM). Don't remember which stock rom I was on but it was oreo so maybe somewhere close to 374 or earlier version.
Problem :
Firstly, I rooted following one of the threads from here and it was successful. However, I messed up when I downloaded an app which modifies framework or something and it bricked me and pushed me out.
But luckily I had some help and I used Chimera Tool to flash the International Version which brought my phone back to life but a lot of features like WiFi, Fingerprint Scanner didn't work.
So I decided to re-flash my firmware ie; C185B374 (Middle East Version) hoping it would solve the problem. It did solve the Fingerprint and WiFi problem but gave new problems like Gallery App (System APP) not working and Bluetooth not working.
:crying:
Note : I tried downloading firmware files from Firmware Finder & and flashing all 3 files using twrp and it fails as there is some mess in the Partition which isn't resolving. :crying:
I tried flashing using firmware finder app in the phone. It downloads the firmware and everything but doesn't flash. :crying:
Now, when I try to rebrand also which seemed a possible solution, I get stuck on the step where oeminfo files has to be replaced from the twrp backups. The script just doesn't respond.
Well, I am still living with the phone but alot of features don't work.
Help Required is :
1. Need solution to get stock firmware working properly as I am currently running my regions version but features don't work.
2. Lock back bootloader if possible. ( ADB Method & Team MT Multi Tool have been tried with no success)
3. Possibly get everything back to orignal. That's all I want !
Can anybody provide a possible solution to this ?
Nobody ?
My thought:
Download the firmware images you want to install.
Follow the instructions for using HuRupdater (search, I don't have the link handy for it); basically: put hurupdater and your update zips in the same folder on microsd, flash hurupdater with TWRP.
For relocking, you should be able to use "fastboot oem relock", though the phone will show that status. If that's fine, go for it.

Problem with TWRP Recovery v3.1.1 on my Samsung SM-j701M

Hello there
I bought a Samsung J7 Neo (SM -J701M) on another country than mine (Im from Argentina, device bought on Paraguay). Anyway, I started to look another way to get some space on the internal storage and I remember that android had an option to expand it, using a SD Card. Unfortunately, i realize this option is not allowed on samsungs device, but it works (i read it, because can't do it) if you get root user.
So I looked how to do it and i found a group of files
ODIN v3.12
Magisk v.14.5
twrp v.3.1.1 -j7 neo
Im not sure if I downloaded the right files, but im start the process anyway.
I followed point by point
First I installed TWRP Recovery v3.1.1 (which is supposed to be correct to my model) and then already on twrp rom I installed magisk 14.5 from sd card and did wipe data.
Turned on the phone and I restored all apps from a google backups, and I realized I cant find app "Magisk" on the device, so I decided to reboot the phone and it starts to do a bootloop with this error "kernel rev. check fail, device:2 binary:1"
At this point, I failed every attempt to fix this error
I tried installing the last official firmware that i found (and Im not sure if its the correct one)
J701MUBU3ARC2_J701MUWT3ARC1_UFN
And I got this error
"SW REV. CHECK Fail (BOOTLOADER) Device :5 Binary 3:
I searched on google this kind of error, and I found that I have to downgrade the bootloader. And this is why im here beacause I dont know how to do this, and if its works, i don´t know how to continue the process to root and expand my internal storage. So I really appreciate if someone one could help me with this. I can learn fast and I love to do this things by myself.
Thanks for your time!
Fernando
If you have to downgrade the boot loader, it means the firmware you are flashing is older than the one on your fon.
Go to www.updato.com and look for the he latest J701M firmware.
You can sort the list by date and by region.
And the site is download manager friendly ?
Good luck!
Sent from my SM-J700F using Tapatalk
Thanks for your answer! One more question about the region. Should I download firmware from the country that I bought the phone or firmware from the country that I am?
Look for your country specific firmware first.
Otherwise Samsung usually has regional software - i.e for several countries in a region e.g. Argentina, Paraguay.

Hi There,
Did you have any luck with your Phone? I have the same exact model but I have Android Version 8.1.0, Samsung Experience version 9.5; Android security patch level -Feb 1, 2019; Baseband version: J701MUBS6BSB3 and like you, I love doing things myself, and I can't seem to abide a smartphone that's not rooted.
I'm not exactly a newbie, I've been assisting devs with testing and such on AT&T SGS3 for quite some time. But I can't seem to find a stable method for rooting for this phone, no one seems to be doing any development on it.
I would love to hear your story thus far.
im needing help myself, i have the SM-J701M (J7 NEO), with android pie 9 official, but the binary is 7 (because Argentina Geniuses of course) and of all the things i tried nothing works, and the only thing they did was brick the phone, so i flash and stock firmnware to be usable again

What have you done? I saw your messages on TG but everyone ignores usually, I had another problem and footbed the solution myself as I got ignored for days.
So, what have you done? Maybe we can figure it out a way to root it, but to avoid telling you things that you may have already done it is better if you let us know your already followed steps.

i tried flashing TWRP like a guide said (Latest version) but then got stuck with a boot loop in the Samsung Galaxy Logo, then when i enter to flash the latest global firmware it didn't work because it was binary 6, so i searched for the version in Argentina that has binary 7, after that i didn't try anything else in fears of getting fully bricked, i was thinking of the magisk canary way of rooting (patching the AP) but i don't know what happen if it fails the flash
Hi, i have the same device, SM-J701M, but when i try to flash the stock, it says that the device binary is 9 and the rom is 8, but i cant find the binary 9 rom in any place, only 8. I have the trwp installed, so I was thinking if I format all data (system and files) and try to flash again, it will work ?
Also im from Brazil (SM-J701MT), and the device was buyed in Paraguay (SM-J701M) too. Should i install the SM-J701MT ROM right ?
Some success.

Ok, guys, I've had a bit of progress with my device Samsung Galaxy J 7 Neo (SM-J701M- Android version 8.01)
On this phone, the option to unlock the bootloader was missing in Dev Opt and I knew that in order to achieve anything I was going to have to unlock the bootloader.
I searched and found that, via adb/fastboot (Google's Platform Tools) rebooting the phone to the bootloader you could enter the code: 'fastboot oem unlock' or 'fastboot flashing unlock' and voila! everything would be fixed...But...my device wasn't even being recognized by "fastboot" ! adb yes but no fastboot! Always the message: "Waiting on any device". Trying to find and install the drivers to do this was next to impossible.
It actually caused me soft brick my device. However, it was a blessing in disguise; I knew what had to be done, I was going to have to reinstall the firmware via Odin. I searched the site (Sammobile - you'll have to create an account.) and found the Oreo and the Pie Firmware, I downloaded both but played it safe and restored my device with the Oreo first.
And lo and behold the option to unlock bootloader was there! No hesitation, clicked that sucker fast!!
Now, I'm running PIE (No one has done a Custom ROM for this baby just yet) and with the unofficial TWRP in the first link below, it's a bit buggy but until they make an official one for us ... I guess we'll have to wait.
Oh! And don't forget to make a backup with Smart Switch!
And pay attention to the advice here:
Code:
1. Extract the firmware file you just downloaded. You should get 5 files:
AP (System &Recovery)
BL (Bootloader)
CP (Modem / Radio)
CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)
HOME_CSC_*** (Country / Region / Operator)
2. Add each file to its respective field in Odin v3.14.4. Use CSC_*** if you want to do a clean flash or HOME_CSC_*** if you want to keep your apps and data.
3. Reboot your phone in Download / Odin mode (make sure your device is off) with the following button combo: POWER + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY
Other options in case first option did not work or isn't possible.
Option 2 VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP then USB cable
Option 3 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + VOLUME UP
Option 4 POWER + VOLUME DOWN + HOME BUTTON
Option 5 (Note9) USB cable + VOLUME DOWN + BIXBY
Option 6 (Note10) POWER + VOLUME UP
4. Once in download mode, connect your phone to the PC, preferably using the original USB cable you got with your phone. Odin should detect your device and a BLUE box will show up with the COM port number. (Be sure, the SAMSUNG-drivers are installed on your PC!)
Do NOT tick any extra boxes. The only options to be ticked are F.Reset Time and Auto-Reboot.
5. Click the start button, wait for Odin to say 'PASS' in a GREEN box. Once the flash is complete, your phone will reboot, and you can disconnect your phone from the PC

I think that's because you have to be specific with the carrier; Orange; Nextel; Movistar...that makes a lot of difference in with the firmware. If you can, check to see what you had before and try that first.

Hey, I noticed we have the same android version and and phone model, I wanted to know which version of Twrp you used . I am guessing version 3.1.1?
It's an Un-official version of TWRP, so the version #( 3.2.1-0) may not count, you can check the links out to get more information.
hola tengo un problema, tengo un sm-j701m binario 11 android 9 y quiero intalarle un twrp pero no se cual descargar y que funcione
Don't know if anyone's still following this thread or even still has this phone but there's been quite some progress with this device. (i.e: SM-J701M) The posts below will certainly help to bring your device up to date re: rooting; flashing etc.

These posts contain links to ROMS and recoveries which have been sucessful, I can personally attest to this, my device was rooted and a custom ROM installed. I hope you will find them helpful.
Good Luck

I need to rollback (Honor 8), HELP!

I have a seemingly stupid but still annoying problem. As many of you know Android 8 + EMUI 8 came out this summer and I have updated my Honor8. Everything works well, even better (especially with regard to the battery) apart from a problem, quite annoying. I have seen that everyone around complains about the same problem, so it is clear that both a build bug and not a local problem.
Basically ... the bluetooth link with the multimedia system of my car doesn't work as it should, while it worked well with the 7.0.
Tracknames, music infos disappears, sometimes it connects regularly, starting the music, sometimes nothing happens, sometimes the music passes from the car speakers to smartphone (!!)... in short, manage the music in the car It has become a big problem!
I tried all possible options; reset pairing, reset bluetooth, clear cache, activate the developer options to control some low-level aspects of bluetooth, and finally installed Bluetooth Auto Connect which also has several advanced options. Nothing works. In the meantime an update of 8.0 has been released (mine is the buiold 521). The update came out in September ... maybe (MAYBE) this update fixes all bluetooth issues (but i don't have any detailed info about). Until today I have not received any updates and normally I check new version regularly every day. At this point I decided to return to Nougat!
And here the adventure begins!
I CANNOT IN ANY WAY do the downgrade.
What I tried:
- through HiSuite. The "back to previous version" option appears random (rarely); normally the program tells me "the system is up to date". Once appeared I tried to run the procedure, but after the decompression it gives me an error "error updating".
- by standard Rollback procedure. Using a microSD and putting the full version of Nougate in the dload folder. The installation starts but stops almost immediately with the same "update cannot be applied" error.
At this point I am desperate. I cannot update Oreo, I can't go back to Nougat and meanwhile the bluetooth still doesn't work with my car. Remember that before Oreo, everything worked very well!
What can I do? Can you help me?
Thank you

Region: EU
Model: FRD-L09
Build: 8.0.0.521 (C432)
Previous Build: don't remember. It was Nougat, and I've upgraded around the first week of September. From that day I haven't received/applied any patch, because nothing appears until now.
This morning I've tried again with HiSuite. As usual it says I'm running the latest version and it doesn't offer any downgrade option .

The more you know...
Finally I've decide to try updating to 8.0.0.562. After a month of tries, fails (damn Huawei and his stupid update system), errors and a lot of other stupid things, I was finally able to update my Honor hoping the latest version will fix all the problems. It was a enormous waste of time (searching around internet)... but in the end I found a method described here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/help/p20-pro-bricked-t3868085#4And if you go ahead you should find the correct firmware link (on a Russian site). Although, IMHO, failing with the classic method was due to the impossibility or some bugs in the update system, to unpack the update files on sdcard. So the solution seems to be to leave both the zip and the unpacked folder. The problems with bluetooth remain, but I hope that now there is not to be crazy applying next updates. ATTENTION: the method above is NOT valid for rollback! If you try, you'll brick your Honor.
And finally I've taken an important decision... for me this is the last Huawei/honor device. Next time I'll go to another brand, with a serious update system.
