Changing sdcard name

Hey,
I would like to install the android revolution hd but I got a weird problem.
In my tf101 the main storage 16gb is somehow (dont know why) called sdcard and when I put real micro SD to the tablet - it is called MicroSD instead of sdcard.
Now, because of that I cant instal new rom cause it always thinks i have not sdcard in. (in rom manager pro - it sees my sdcard a the main storage called sdcard)
In root explorer I can change sdcard into something else but cant change MicroSD into sdcard. Do you have any idea what should I do?

Do not use ROM Manager. And what you're reporting is the normal storage for the TF101. sdcard is the internal storage, microsd and sd are the 2 extension slots.

ok then, why my android cant see any sdcard when im in recovery mode (without using rom manager, and I tried 3 sd cards yet), Oh and btw I got Clockwork recovery mod 6.0.2.1
Hmm, is that possible to change the rom into revolution hd with easyflasher ?

There should be a menu in recovery to attempt to mount the card. Maybe advanced menu I think. Try that.

well, I tried but there is no such thing in advanced also. So what about easy flasher, can I try with that?

Use the mounts and storage menu and you should be able to manually mount your microSD card.

problem solved, i used goomanager to instal other flash which recognized sdcard,
it turned out that reading alot of old stuff actually helps alot xd

I'm using sony ericsson live with walkman wt19i, you know that its internal storage is very slow so I want to make SD Card as an internal storage so that I can install many many game,..I dont want to use Link2SD, app2SD or any software like that,...
I added "vold.fstab" file, is there anyone can help me change some code in that file??? change my SD Card as internal storage
I'm running android ICS stock 4.0.4 build 4.1.B.0.587 rooted

ICS don`t need app2sd? Go to settings, aplications, click on one, manage to sd.

[Q] HELP ME : "Storage almost full"

Hi guys,
My phone has root, SD card is 8Gb has great partition 1Gb for ext3, up rom Sense 5 EX Build#6-V1 of …. or JaggyRom_3.2.1 … that is ok
But few days ago when I up rom sense 5 v3: notification when phone stated is “Storage almost full”. I check Internal Storage: available space is less than 1Mb. I can’t action anything on my phone except call & message. Available space of SD storage is no problem
The first, I think the reason by rom, but when I up any other rom, the problem is the same. I don’t know what to do

You also need to install a memory script like mounts2sd or int2ext to make the phone move files from internal storage to the ext partition on sdcard. (Although newer ROMs come with built in support)
I assume you've already installed some such app, in which case you might have to configure it to move dalvik cache and data to external.

do this now..i think u hav ext partition...
u need to flash the rom again...but wipe evrything excpt sd card...n use memory scripts...

i m using flyrom v4.. i wanted data to b on internel memory so i moved cache to ext and have only 10 apps installed using mount2sd after restarting it shows in kbs

Restart your phone. Dont touch it for 15 mins. Let it load up and try again

[Q] [Xperia j] CMW ''No files found''

Hey, i'm new to these forums and new to android tinkering indeed.
My phone is Xperia j and i was using .31 jb locked bl. My goal is to get .31 rooted and a ram file swap. I downgraded to 7.5. and rooted. After that i copied the .31 rooted zip to my sd card and my internal storage( sd card is class 10 8gb) and i installed CWM (exact version is cwm-sr13gx v6.0.2.7 as shown on my phone). After i run cwm from my phone and i try to "choose zip from card' i just get "no files found".
What am i doing wrong?

Try going to "mounts & storage" and manualy mount sdcard then choose zip from sdcard

I did try that but it the result was the same. I read your posts regarding this issue on a different thread. Well the ram usage is lower now that i am on 7.5 than .31 and i am rooted so i got that going for me. I will test it out more myself, but is 7.5 actually better( performance wise) than .31? I don't see any big ui improvments on .31. Thing is if i can't get CWM to work properly i won't be able to to a ram swap, or is there another way to do it?

I don't see why CWM won't read your sdcard that normaly only happens if the sd is lower than a class 4. try and reinstall CWM. for better performance i would recommend AVD rom it is the fastest stock based custom rom. when you say you want to swap ram what exactly do you mean.

I want to create a extension on my sd card for my ram ( a swap file i understud it was called) like virtual memory on windows. I was going to install than rom later on( starting out on simpler things), but yeah i got stuck on the CWM issue.

Thats not swapping ram its swapping dalvik cache and does not really make much difference and you need a kernel that supports swap which stock kernels don't bro. have you tried another sd in your phone and check that it is formatted as fat32.

Well that was a wasted friday night for me. If i can't do the ram extension thing then there's no point in keeping 7.5 root and i'll just go back to stock .31. Um, can i install games directly on my sd card w/o root?

Yes its fat32, i will try to install the AVD rom you made from another sd card, it sounds really good.

you can move apps to your internal storage with native apps2sd but not all apps/games support it. if you want to root jb .31 then see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2366577

[Q] No space to install apps.

I have installed Cyanogenmod 7.2 to my Samsung Galaxy i5801 and it seems to be working OK, mostly. I am having to try to reinstall several of the apps I had previously but each time I try I get a message that there is insufficient space to install.
I have checked the reported space and it seems I have 0 internal storage and 14GB external storage. I have tried to change the storage location for downloaded apps to both internal and external with no difference.
Any suggestions for a solution? I have tried searching the forum and, although I see other posts asking similar questions there don't appear to be any answers.

You can try to reflash the rom or you can partition your SD card and use data2sd.

The problem with the install location is, that you need to have free space on the internal storage in advance.
The app is first downloaded into a container on the internal storage, and then installed (at least partly) to the internal storage. So you should have at least appSize * 2 of free space.
Another app you could try is Link2SD. It moves mostly everything of an app to the sd-card. But for that you need to partition your card. Just google for that app

If you are using Marcellusbe's build then Link2SD should work. Just ignore the error and reboot the phone.

I rebooted the phone ...
But it is not at all movig the apps to external SD

did you install the rom with odin? i had exactly the same problem, reinstalling the rom from clockwork mod recovery fixed it, or install the mtd version from recovery.
