Simultaneously using 2 SIM with SD Card in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Guides, News, & Discussion

Here I will tell you how to install simultaneously 2 SIM & SD Card in Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
200 GB SD will also work by this method See here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7EmOng_jno
See the video , which tells you how to remove the hybrid tray out of the phone and install modified sd card.
Images here
You will need 2 SIMs (nano SIM) and an SD Card (up to 200Gb).
Step 1. Take out the metal portion from SIM (need permission from operator in some country , do check that)
Step 2. Fix the SIM on SD card by Glue
Step 3. Install modified SD card in SIM tray along with the second SIM
Step 4. Done

Only on the dual sim version.

I have s7 edge dual sim is it okay that i can use my two sim cards and sd card at the same time? is there will be no problem using them both at the same time?

If you get it right, then yes--you can use both sims and your SD card as well.
BUT, in an operation that requires you to cut your sim card apart and glue it to the back of your SD card, there are no guarantees.
I'm afraid that somebody is going to get their sim/sd card stuck in the slot and break something trying to get it back out.

The probability of that thing is not zero. But the pins inside the SIM tray are curved in both side so, this will not create problem....

Great video doctor..!! Surely gonna try this tomorrow...

Can anyone experienced test for single S7 please?
Reader hybrid should be the same, and when we recorded the firmware for the duo sim, it could work?

What a star you are sir!
This is exactly what xda is all about......
I didn't have any Acetone......so I experimented and found the very fast way to remove the plastic of old SIM card......use a kitchen lighter and gently hear the plastic side of the SIM card. It only needs a few seconds and then you can use a craft knife to separate the SIM from the plastic.
Job done and no need to visit A&E with missing finger tips [emoji6]

My question was directed to the question of whether it will work on the classic S7 (not dual sim), and if so, what is required for the firmware....

Dont try it on single sim you might damage your phone, your phone's sim tray IS NOT the same as the dous model, the dous model has the 2 sims or 1 sim 1 sd card written and a space for the second sim is cut for it. Where in the classic single sim no cut on the second slot of sd car for a second sim
Dont attempt or ask someone too,, warranty will not cover you

In my previous experiences phone manufacturers never give something for nothing so I would doubt that the single SIM model would have the required dual SIM contacts and only the SIM tray is different. But until someone doors a tear down of a single SIM model you won't know for sure......

What does it means?

Hi,
just like to ask if there is any way not to glue the sim module to the microsd card permanently? reason is if ever i decide to change microsd card or change my second sim to other network, i can instantly remove and change. Or if ever I want to use again the sim/microsd card to other phone, i can just remove the sim and use it normally.
Please advise. Thanks!

I'm just going to order a new SIM tray and keep for spare. When re inserting the modified tray and dual SIMs it is a bit tight fit, so if the modified SIM is not stuck firmly to the memory card then I don't think is will go in and still be in the same place to make pin contacts. I also cut up my primary SIM and glued it to the MC as it is the one that fits furthest inside the phone and I change my second SIM regularly when I travel. But you can select the SIM that is used as LTE / 3G and the other just reverts back to 2G for choice only use.

Do you have a PIN SIM lock on your card ? I had the issue when I put my cousins SIM card in my phone and couldn't unlock it (didn't get the PIN popup at start up). I've put it back in his phone and disabled the SIM lock there and put it back in my phone. After that, the network was found and I got the option in Security to set a SIM lock back (it wasn't there when the card was locked).

check if any of sim pins is bended
@lostman.it- it that you say was the problem.
Thank you all for comment, bye
This happened to me once before and it was because I inserted the sim the wrong way. There's only one way to insert the sim following the sim symbol near the slot. Worth a try to double check.

This may sound silly, but make sure you have the sim inserted correctly, i.e. correct orientation, seated well, etc.
Also, did you adjust the APN settings? And as was mentioned before, make sure your local network(s) support the same bands the i9020a does.
Btw, thumbs up if you forgot what GB looks like lol.

I noticed that sim reader was damaged! :banghead:
I have to put a little paper piece to force sim reading!
After 1 year of usage, no more problems!

Nano-SIM from iPhone 5 in Galaxy S III

Hi All,
I have a Nano SIM from my iPhone 5 and I was trying to switch from an iPhone 5 to a GS3. I have a Noosy nanoSim adapter to convert it into microSIM. When I insert the SIM, I can't get it to activate. Are there some APN settings I need to change or something? I Know that AT&T has the same problems:
http://forums.att.com/t5/Apple-Comm...m-in-a-Galaxy-S3-with-an-adaptor/td-p/3316083
Any help would be appreciated!
The iPhone sim doesn't work on android phone its not compatible... u can go to a Verizon store and get a free micro sim

I have the same question. The ICCID on a nano sim and a micro sim are the same length.
both go 89148000000123456789. So I don't think they're incompatible. We're missing something but I'm not sure what the prob is. You might (and I might) try cutting a micro sim down to work in the iphone and then should have no probs.
Hopefully someone will clarify this for both of us.
Edit: Customer service is telling me no.
Edit 2: for Clarity
Found this on a Cnet Article.
I verified this today with my Verizon 4g micro sim. I was able to cut it down to size and did not need to shave anything of of the width. It works perfectly!! We got our demo iPhone 5 in today and I tried right away!

So the best way (so far it seems) is to get a micro and trim to nano.
I'm Gonna check out the iphone forums.

So you were able to get a micro sim specified for Android, cut it down to nano, and be able to use it in a iPhone 5? Were you able to use that same nano, use a MicroSIM converter, and use it in the GS3? Both were able to be activated on the same SIM?
Sorry, No I have not tried this yet. I'll fix my post above. A user on a CNET article is who is confirming that cutting a micro sim down to a nano and they'll be interchangeable.
I don't have a sim cutter yet.
At worst you can just switch between them by using the MyVerizon Page. Each kind of sim card are re-usable So you can just leave your cards in the phones. They don't expire.

I used scissors. It worked. Now the problem is making it bigger again. And amazon comes to the rescue. Have a look at this.
http://www.amazon.com/Nano-Sim-Micr...sr=8-1&keywords=nano+sim+to+micro+sim+adapter
Its a buck fifty with free shipping...how much better can it get?
EDIT: This one is even cheaper!
http://www.amazon.com/iCoolkit-iPhone-Stander-Adapter-Holder/dp/B009ABEA7E/ref=pd_bxgy_pc_text_y
BTW: they are interchangable...i use this adapter all the time. I actually use a ATT sim in my gs3 and it works, so I cant say if the verizon nano sims are for sure, but I think they are if the ATT ones work.

Okay this is just plain wrong. It does work. Its just a different size. Scissors solve that problem.
Okay. Success.
Sorry I forgot about this for a couple of weeks.... but i have success to report. well atleast partial.
I cut down a Micro Sim to nano size and "activated" My nexus. Then put the cut-down micro in my iPhone and it was activated in a few mins.
So to get this to work. Go to a verizon store. "Activate" your S3 w/ a new sim.
Cut it down and itll work in the iphone. Data, calls, texts. All work.
I havent gotten my adapter yet to put it back into my Nexus. I'll report back when I have.
I'm using my iPhone 5's nano sim in my S3 right now. Just need an adapter to correct the size. Didn't have to call Verizon or anything. The joys of SIMs
Right we've seen on multiple threads about AT&T phones having no problems. But OP and I are trying to swap between the Verizon versions and he hadnt had any luck.
I got my adapter today. I put the cut down sim into my Nexus and got calls and text to work. The adapter was a little tight in the sim tray so I may need to file it just a little and it'll work .... I hope.
Forget everything I said.
The iPhone 5's nano sim is completely compatible.
I just reactivated my 5 w/ a nano sim and then put it in my Nexus. As it was turning on it called *22899 it's own. working fine now. Very Sweet.
I did have to file the sides of the Noosi adapter a little it wasn't sliding in easy.
I was re-reading the posts and saw that fuego3048 said "you don't have to call Verizon customer service." Missed that the first time. Sorry, credit to fuego3048.

try this
1.remove the sim card while the phone is on. if youl see notification that telling you that there is no sim card and restart, then its recognize the card and problem is somewhere else
2.go to settings
under wireless&networks=>More..=>MobileNetworks=>Network operators
wait until the phone will find all the operators and chose yours
if that not working go to next step
3.open SIM TOOLKIT app
Roaming Services=>Select Mode=>and try some of the Manual mods there or the Automatic
now go to step 2 and do it again
hope it will solve your problem

I'll be getting a micro sim from my operator.... took 2 sims from them, cut them both and both failed to work..
So i just switched to an Airtel sim and my nexus 5x doesnt want to detect it.
1) I have tried other sims on my phone and they all work perfect and get detected under milliseconds after inserting.
2) Then, i tried to insert this particular airtel sim to my dad iphone and it does work and also can call from it. So yeah it is active.
3) SO! then i tried inserting my dad's Airtel sim in my Nexus and guess what ? It doesnt get detected.
Conclusion: Nexus 5x is not capable of detecting Airtel sim and so get a vodafone or any other sim card you prefer.
I have the exact same problem with my 5x. I Have an Airtel sim as well. The phone has stopped detecting sim. If I insert a new sim, the phone detects the new sim for a while but then stops detecting again. Though the sim is being detected by all other phone including a different Nexus 5x.
Not sure what is the problem here. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks guys

2 sim on EU S8+, possible?

You mean that you don't know if you have a dual sim s8+ or a single sim? It must be written in the back as "Duos"...
I know that this (2 sim & micro SD card) happens in all Duos (Dual sim device)
But I don't think that you can do a single sim version to dual sim
To clarify, the question popped up as I saw some people on YouTube surgically detaching the sim and glueing it to their sd cards in order to get the 2nd sim working. But I assume if there is no actual reader to read the 2nd sim, that operation won't be successful. Thing is, I do not know if there is a reader or not on an European version of s8+?
It's quite impossible since the device must have two imei numbers.

Remove the sim chip from the telecommunications company and stick it behind the SD Card. Look at my photo. Then sim + SD card into the sim2 card slot. This sim2 card slot there sim with sd.
Dual sim on G955F?
Even though not marked on box, is it possible?

The answer is a simple no. Those videos show a dual sim s8 being modded so they can use the dual sim AND an sd card instead of OR.

No. Must have 2 IMEI's for that to work. There is no way to make a single sim phone a dual sim one.

Convert SM-G930F to SM-G930FD / Add Dual-SIM-Support

Hello,
i saw videos on youtube, that it's possible to convert the sm-g930f to an sm-g930fd by adding a second imei-number.
I can't paste the youtube link here but you can search "convert sm-g390f t smg930fd" on youtube.
Is it only with a z3x box possible like in the video? someone tried that?
I think that's impossible, isn't dual sim a hardware thngy?

Well the second SIM uses the microSD slot in the dual-sim version but I am not sure if there is a second SIM card reader and a second radio module in the 930F, but it could also be that Samsung used the same motherboard with a different firmware. A detailed picture of both motherboard could help.

I can't resist but have a go.. From what I've read most of the 930s (F,W8,S,L,K) use the same hardware (which may or may not be true). All you gave to do is clone the IMEI but here you need a service tool. see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9exv5bRgWY0 . Then order a dual sim tray (mine as 99p inc postage from eBay).
of course it could be a hoax but I then again it may not
Any luck, or was it a hoax?
Can get a SM-G930F from my provider. But would like to use double lines.

After some research it would appear that to do this might be illegal in the UK so I think I won't bother. Dual sim phones come with two unique IMEI numbers and to have two sims running with the same IMEI would be inviting trouble.

That's theory, most dual sim chinese phone that you can buy come with an unique IMEI, I never saw anyone getting into trouble because of this

You mean both sims use the same IMEI? well I have until the 24th October when my dual sim tray will arrive from china to muse over the ethics and repercussions of this.
Edit:
It would appear that Dual sim phones with one IMEI number are the 'one sim working or the other' sort where as you need two IMEIs if both sims are going to be active - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.mobile.android/Mj86ltfLziE

My moto x play was converted to dual from single sim after flashing a dual sim capable rom. It had one IMEI and both sims were working simultaneously without problem in many EU countries.
I have not tried it with my G930F cause i do not have a double sim tray. I am eagerly waiting for your results. As far as i know, 'FD' devices have HW modem that can support two sims, while devices without 'D' have not. Once again, i am waiting for your results!

it's seem that all S7 version are dual sim capable...
I have found this tutorial.
Since i don't have a z3x box i can't try it, but maybe someone here can. If someone manage it let us know. PS: You do everything here at your own risk. I take no responsibility for any broken devices.
Thanks, will try if I feel brave enough
Any updates?
The tutorial from frkhtc is the missing link to this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9exv5bRgWY0 ... I'm just waiting for that gunhoe moment where I don't care if I ruin my phone.. could come at any moment or might never come...
i would like to try it on my phone but i dont have a z3x box and don't know how to buy it. it don't seems to be easy to buy and activate it and i don't know which z3x box is compatible to the galaxy s7. i saw that i also need a smartcard for the z3x box.... i don't know how to get this all in germany

Both sims are active? What impact do it have on battery? On the youtube video tutorial someone commented that his phone has heating issues and battery drains fast.
yes boss both sims are active and working fine no issue at all i reset to factory default as well for test this method stay or goes... but its working fine
no heat up issue coz same hard ware no battery drain coz both models FD and F W8 S L K have same models with same hardware and battery...
only required Z3x box for it or pay USD 10$ for it
your phone should be root and install custom rom as i mentioned before
if in case of your software/rom corrupted your phone will be go back to single sim state if you flash with odin default file.
