I know that. I read why they shut it down. Forum rules state that there should only be one topic created at a time.
By you creating a second thread because the original being locked are intentionally breaking that rule.
The moderator stated, "This thread is closed for a while until members read the rules regarding conduct"
Nobody except mods have the right to decide if such a thread should occupy the forum.
As a former moderator I can tell you that breaking a forum rule in effort to circumvent a decision made by a moderator is not taken lightly.

You don't need to break forum rules to know that you cannot (to date) unlock your bootloader or root your device. If you want to continue discussion then do so by other means in accordance with forum rules. Otherwise, dispute it with the forum moderator(s) that closed the thread in the first place. You're not cooperating with a moderators request and it can earn you an infraction if you aren't careful. Trust me as a former moderator I speak from experience.

So.. is this where the drama went?

Thanks for the warning but ill let this continues in favor of freedom....i also add a poll to see members opinion on rather or not this should be kept open or close

Seems legit to me. The clock on returning devices is running out. Anyone know if the international version works well with T-Mobile?

Negative there is no continuing/alternative, from the other Thread. Why would you open this thread, seeing the other is Temp Closed.
And btw there is no freedom via XDA, this is a private Forum, that you signed up to belong to, and you also agreed to the Forum Rules.
Thread Closed, and please do not open another, as this will be my only Warning.

Apparently that avatar he posted is piracy... Please re-read the rules (the part about being respectful) http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?a=81 .
I personally view this post as a Flaming (2.3), Personal Attack(2.4) with questionable language(2.1) that doesn't show any courtesy(2.5) to other members and shows that you obviously haven't read and aren't capable of following the rules of the forum (2.6). That's all the rules regarding conduct except nudity, who would you infract? If you have a problem with a post/thread report it rather than getting yourself into trouble. Consider this a friendly warning since the OP decided not to report your post.

Umm, I was talking about the app he is spamming about. He has another post in the general forum about it. CairoMarketplace is an applanet style app that offers paid apps for free. Is that not piracy?
And I have reported both of his posts and yet they still sit on our general forum.

Exactly, you reported another thread and came over here to start a flame war in this one too? Guy posted an avatar for people, how is that warez or advertising, it says XDA on it not Cairo anything. Yes, I agree that CairoMarket is warez and it's been being discussed but that doesn't mean you should search the users name, post a snide response in every thread he ever created and report every thread he ever created regardless if it doesn't even violate the rules here on xda. Again, stalking users, creating drama, flame wars etc = no no. You reported it, report received, let the mods take care of it because all this childish behaviour will do is get you in trouble too. Please keep this in mind.

Will

[FOR MODS] Q&A Best ROM/Kernel Threads

Hi,
I know this isn't directly related to the Galaxy S4, but very often I see many 'Best ROM/Kernel' threads in the Q&A section here. In the i9100 (Galaxy S2), a forum mod created a sticky which can be viewed in the Q&A section. It clearly states that 'Best ROM/Kernel' threads are not allowed, and that people have to test for themselves.
Now, I know this will not solve the problem entirely, but those of us that take the time to look at the stickies will know why these 'Best ROM/Kernel' threads are not allowed. Also, someone will no doubt post the XDA forum rules here, but for simplicity and to tackle confusion with new members, I believe it would be helpful if a sticky like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1612881 was created and placed in the Q&A section.
Edit: If a mod wishes a sticky to be created, I will happily edit this thread to explain why 'Best ROM/Kernel' threads are not allowed, and this could be stickied and moved to the Q&A section.
Two examples in the last two days (many more but I think it gets the point across):
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427267
2) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428727
Thanks.

Yep, couldn't agree more. I've asked for it to be done.
Thing is, stickys are largely ignored (Check the average view count) - its the same in the s3 forum
Just report the thread when it appears

That is completely true, which is kind of annoying. As for your reporting the thread idea, every time a thread is reported and closed, it is highly likely the OP is very confused, 'why was my thread closed? This forum is for ROM's, what's wrong about asking for a good ROM?!' and the problem only becomes worse. At least if the thread is closed, it should only make sense if they are directed to a sticky or thread which explains why it has been closed, instead of a simple 'no best ROM/Kernel threads!'
Feedback appreciated.

No response from any mods? If mods do not wish for a sticky to be created, then let me know and you can close this thread. A response would be appreciated.

IMHO, "Best ROM/Kernel Thread" isn't allowed here. It may downgrade the level of Devs.
For Q/A thread we already have the same in Q/A Section.

Hi,
Moderators should never close a thread without leaving an short explanation behind to avoid the "confused noob" situation. I underlined "should never" because I am perfectly aware that guideline is (unfortunately) not followed by all moderators, however, it is followed by most of us.

It has only just been brought to my attention. If you want a thread noticed by moderators, it is best to report it and leave a report message asking us to read the thread.
As for sticking this thread, I'm not sure that its necessary - Q8 in the FAQ thread by malybru in the Q&A section deals with "Best ROM/Kernel" type questions and I have also added a short note in the Moderator Introduction thread stuck in general at the bottom with the other posting guidelines about best ROM/kernel threads.
Ultimately no matter what we do, as the userbase of XDA in general gets dumber with more people moving to smartphones and seeing XDA as a place to make their phone "kewl", these threads are going to become more commonplace and as noted by DSA, if the stickies aren't read, there isn't much anyone can do about it really apart from reporting the threads to moderators.

Thanks for your detailed response, and to be honest I have to agree. As the smartphone community grows, so does the amount of noobs on this forum, and it will be near impossible to combat this. Thanks for your reply, if you wish you can close this thread now.

Coming from an AT&T Galaxy S4 to a Nexus 5, does anyone have any rom/kernel suggestions for me before I get it? Which do you use?

Nope. Use what you test that you like. We won't recommend what you like because we don't know you. What's best for you is not best for me. Thats why "best" or "recommend me" threads are against the rules.

Hello, and welcome to the forum,
Before you click the "New Thread" or "Post Reply" buttons, please take the time to read some rules/guidelines for posting in this forum:
1) Read and follow the Forum Rules:
Plain and simple. No further explanation needed
2) Post your message in the proper subforum (see above):
All questions, requests, and help & troubleshooting needs, go in the Q&A Help & Troubleshooting subforum, if one exists for your device, and any misplaced messages will be promptly moved to their respective location. Users that make it a habit of posting in the wrong forum will be addressed accordingly. If you're unsure of where your post or thread belongs, please read the Forum Rules again.
3) No off-topic discussion:
While some Moderation Teams may allow some off-topic discussion and the creation of off-topic threads, we do not. There is an entire General Off-Topic forum devoted to this type of discussion and there are enough threads already available to meet anyone's off-topic needs. All off-topic threads, and posts containing off-topic discussion, will be deleted promptly and without warning. If you're concerned with the amount of off-topic discussion and misplaced questions in the Development forums, please consider making a Q&A Thread for your ROM/Kernel/Project/etc.
4) No threads or posts asking for the best/most stable ROM/Kernel/Mod/whatever, or created for the purpose of comparing Phones/ROMs/Kernels/Mods/whatever:
These threads/posts will be deleted promptly and without warning. They have a history of causing problems due to trolls, and fanboys, along with various troublemakers, and therefore are no longer allowed. Regardless of that, there is really no way to judge whether or not a particular piece of work is better than another because it's all relative to begin with. If you want to know what piece of work is better for you, install something and try it out for a while. If you don't like it, try something else. Our Developers work hard to provide us their contributions, free of charge. Please show them the respect they deserve by trying something out and giving them your feedback.
5) Don't ask for an ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival):
Asking for an ETA is the XDA equivalent of telling a Developer that the free work they do just isn't enough for you. It usually comes across as rude and/or demanding, and most developers will take offense to it. Even if a particular Developer doesn't mind being asked for an ETA, there are many that do, and there's a good possibility that it will incite arguments in the forum. In the end, it's just best to avoid doing it altogether. If you have no other choice but to ask for an ETA (i.e. the work you're doing absolutely depends on it), then please, do it through a private message and keep it out of the public forums.
6) Keep your signatures at a respectable size:
While members are given a great deal of freedom in creating personalized signatures, it is expected that this freedom is not abused. Abnormally large signatures are obnoxious to most users and they tend to be a major distraction from the topic at hand. If your signature is double the size of an average post or larger, expect be asked to change it. If you're not sure whether the size of your signature is within the respectable limits, feel free to contact a member of the Moderation Team that is assigned to this forum for clarification.
7) Be nice:
It's not that hard. If you can't say something nice to someone, don't say anything at all. If you feel the need to respond negatively to someone, please refer to #8.
8) Report all violations of the aforementioned rules/guidelines and DO NOT respond to them in the open forum:
If you happen to notice a rule violation, use the "Report Post" button in the upper right hand corner of the offending post, or send them a polite reminder through private message so they may resolve the problem on their own (for minor violations of course). Please do not respond to posts that are in violation of the rules in public. Regardless of the fact that it leaves more work for us to do when cleaning the forum, responding to them in public only compounds the issue and it puts you at risk of getting in trouble yourself. Moderators have much more effective ways of dealing with these situations than by arguing back and forth and disrupting the entire conversation, so please, let us handle it.
If there are any questions or concerns regarding this or any other matter, please feel free to contact a member of the Moderation Team that is assigned to this forum. You can find a list of the assigned Moderators at the top of each sub-forum page.
With that, here are a few great threads to help you get the most out of your experience here...please take advantage of them:
Get the most out of XDA!!

Why you get short/one word answers! (The Long Answer)

Why so arrogant?

I just joined to this forum, and have found few insightful information
But sometimes, I found that few members are so arrogant just because they understand how to mod, root, etc
Do we need to become an android-expert first here, so other members can respect us as well?
Usually because the poster has not bothered to even read the basics and require spoon.feeding .
One could ask why you post three identical posts .

XDA is a great place for learning and sharing informations As most members are probably humans it may happen that they act like that...
It was great if every new member would read the FORUM RULES before posting. That would avoid some of the trouble you mentioned.
A great example:
"1. Search before posting."
(I suppose 50% of my answers are generated by typing the exact same thing someone asks for into google and press search...)
This thread has been posted in a few places. Please don't make duplicate threads.

[Really pissed] My thread was closed for no valid reason!!!

One of the mods have closed my thread with no valid reason!!!
I wrote a thread asking for help with my brand new Samsung S9+ and how it reset itself to factory after I inserted the SIM card and blocked me out...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/help/help-heck-happened-to-s9-t3874851
It was in the proper Q&A for the S9+ asking for help.
If he was suspicious of me, he could have contacted me in private and I would have provided my Rogers contract with the cell shown on it and the date and the amount I paid before hastily killing the thread.
This accuse and kill first and ask questions never is really unfair to the people in need of real help.

I understand being new to XDA can be difficult, but posting here and in this manner, won't get your thread attention or opened. If you see that this has happened there is a listing showing what Moderator are assigned in what Forums.
But I can forward your post here on to the Team Leader or the Moderator, for an explanation on why it was close.
And to keep from any more confusion, going to close this thread and again I will pass this along to that Team.
