Discussion about what other LG Friends do you want? - LG G5 Accessories

I want to buy all LG friends. But Maybe I could afford CAM Plus and Hi-Fi Plus. What more LG friends do you want to buy.Because I do not buy something I am uninterested.

-High Quality Microphone
-Trackball/Joystick to pan 3D photos/videos
-Gaming controls
-3D Camera
-Projector
-Laser tag gun mod
-Solar Panel Charger

does really sum it up

Can't take credit for this it was on another post somewhere but, capacitive back/home/mutlifunction buttons...... I'd pay way over the top for this !

I Personally would like a extended Battery case along with some other stuff chadwicked posted.

The cam plus has an extra 1200mAh, and it looks nice as a overall package, although it does stick out, and it's cheap, some carriers are giving them for free as a promotion or as a package.

I find the hifi plus module somehow disappointing.
I'd like to see an LG friend with the same audio properties and:
* a second microsd card slot
* hardware buttons (rewind, pause, forward)
* a physical scroll wheel to adjust the volume (like in the marschall london)
Well, that would really be something i'd buy.

Most of those sound useful and would perk my interest.
For me:
- A Hi-Fi Plus that actually works in the US
- A not too bulky extended battery pack

Not feature wireless charge

It seems that LG G5 dosen't feature wireless charge. Have you tried your LG G5 with a wireless charger?

That's the point, use the "magic slot" to add wireless charging as a "Friend" add-on.

- 3D Camera
- Projector/beamer
- High quality camera
- 360 degree camera (on the phone itself)
- infra-read keyboard projector
- distance meter

Speaker, Gaming Controls and a battery would be awesome.

Im a casual photographer so...
Cam Plus "PRO"
1. better grip with leather
2. individual controls for ISO, WB and a 2 custom buttons that lets you set what will it do (digital zoom lock, EXP lock, HDR on/off etc)
3. can be a bit bulkier due to increased grip form/area but with a tripod mount at the bottom
4. BETTER zoom wheel that has feedback/resistance when you roll
at the end of the cam plus pro there will be a section that you can take it off the same way as how the bottom chin is detached, exposing some connector rails and pins where you can attach:
1. External flash with swivel functions, ring flash etc.
2. square filter adapters
3. LENS adapter where you can attach real lens maybe partner up with camera lens manufacturers with real optical zoom, and aperture control via the lens' aperture ring (this bypasses the on board camera when connected)
I've got a mirrorless camera and the lenses are extremely tiny, so I guess this can be plausible.
I know if i wanted these i can just get a camera, but this can be good if you want quality photos without lugging around another gadget
lol this is somewhat a "reach for the sky" figure
for others
the solar charger is nice!
maybe we can also have a bottom module/chin that can attach other modules without the need to turn the phone off
so this will be somewhat "Friends 2.0" hahahha!

nokia n95: my review

hey mates
been a while since i last posted here. after my xda2, i've been using a mio a701. i was then given budget for a new office phone so what the heck i tried out the n95. here's a review after a month's worth of use:
1) battery - if you're a heavy user of bluetooth, wifi, internet, etc...then chances are you're going to charge this almost every night. the bat was okay and i think it could hold it's own for around 2-3 days. i did try out the media player and after like 2 hours of use the battery went down to almost half (from a full charge). i just ordered 2 extra batteries from ebay...good thing their cheap at 2.00usd each.
2) camera - one of the reasons i got this unit. excellent quality given that it's using carl-z optics. the 5 megapixel is quite good and the flash does work wonders. thing is, the camera can also drain the battery if used continuously. yup, the battery is the number one gripe for the n95. however, i was able to buy this little accessory while in hong kong:
{

}
yup, it's a zoom lense. the package comes with a crystal case and from there you attach the lense holder at the back. you have to be careful before you stick it in. the surface comes with a special adhesive. you have to be careful you put the holder in the right position else you risk having an off-centered lense. once attached, the zoom lense slides into the grooves and there you go. i tested it myself and i must say i was impressed with the telescopic feature. you can then remove the zoom lense and keep it in the padded pouch. i was also able to buy a tripod which clamps the phone in place. regular camera tripods allow you to screw the cam on the holder. for the nokia, the tripod has a padded clamp which holds the unit in place.
3) speed - around 9 years ago i was using a nokia 8850 before i switched to ppc units. i'm still getting used to the fact that i have to use the keypad...and no more stylus for me to pull out. other than that the speed of the unit is quite good. applications start out fast. i tried opening several applications at once and it was able to cope without slowing down.
4) media player - i loaded my mp3s on the micro-sd...paired the unit with my r-35 itech headset and there you go...the a2dp works great. i also shut off the bt app and tried out the stereo speakers. although we're not talking b&o quality here the sound is quite good. i think the speakers have been set so as to prevent the speakers from blowing out. in other words, i cranked up the volume to the max and it showed no signs of distortion. it was loud enough to be heard but of course i would expect that the sound would be drowned out when you're in public (like in a bus or a crowd).
5) sliders - the dual slide system...in my opinion...is not as handy. sure it's an added feature..but when you slide it to the right the screen goes on landscape and simply opens up to the animated menu. this is the same menu which pops out when you press the right bigger button while in portrait mode. from there, you have press the central select button to activate the media player.
6) tv-out - the unit can be plugged into the tv and use the screen to display whatever you want. in this case i also loaded a 3gp file of the movie "happy feet"...and to be honest i was quite impressed. it was like having a mini-dvd player. you can also use the tv to display photos or whatever
7) gps - one of the reasons why i bought this unit....but i wasn't as impressed. if you're a hard core navigation user, then better stick to using ppc gps applications. here in thailand i've been using gps to get around as i'm not a native of this country. i've been using powermap v7 for my mio and i was always happy with it. for the n95, the application is called "maps". you then have to install "maploader" into your pc to enable you to download all the maps you need. the pro for this is the maps are free. the con is that you have to pay for navigation services. although the maps application can provide navigation, it will not give you voice directions. you have to pay for this feature...and it comes in plans. it's not a 1-time payment deal...when you pay it can be for 1 year, 2 years, etc.
paying involves connecting to the internet via your gprs /wifi or whatever method you use. although i'm honest in saying that i'm fortunate the company pays for my phone bill, if you're a regualr plan user this can be a burden.
another thing about the gps is that the antenna is on the bottom of the phone. you would have to tilt the unit around 45 degrees in order to get a signal. i would recommend that you switch to landsape mode so as to allow the antenna direct access to the sky.
getting a signal is okay if the sky is clear. while inside the car, i saw some delays and difficulties in getting a satelite signal. i bought an extra gps-receiver and that boosted the connection speed. although there are symbian gps applications like route66 or tomtom, unfortunately the maps are still limited.
don't get me wrong, i like the n95. however, i'm also keeping my mio as i use it for gps applications. overall it's a good phone and i see myself keeping this for quite some time. i was thinking of getting the ameo...but the size factor is what's keeping me from doing so.
cheers

Wii U Knock Off-- The android device for android gamers?

Saw this online today and was wondering if anyone else thinks it could actually end up being a hit for serious android users who are into gaming. THOUGHTS!?!?
Update: This area on the website shows other android-based knockoffs.
This device seems really cool. Wouldn't mind owning one of them if it performs well.

Agreed- if it performs well, it would probably be similar to the xperia play, except with a dozen more hardware buttons that can probably all be custom mapped too!
This device is awsome.
I had a play with one recently.. pretty impressed with the build quality and it seemed fairly slick/smooth in operation. Didn't have enough of a WOW factor to make me buy one though - that and the fact that the wife was with me moaning on about how I've already got a PSP that I don't play etc.. LOL!

Thats a good question!!... until i clicked on the above link i hadnt realised they did more than one version!! I had never heard of this manufacturer until about 2 weeks ago..
I'm back in the UK now.. but for anyone else local i saw it in the small Android shop on 2F Amoy Plaza, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
I might even have a picture of it somewhere to see if that can shed any light on it..

T-Mart 5inch Android Smartphone Review

Hi XDA
Today I will be reviewing a new Android smartphone that I recently received from Tmart.
About Tmart:
http://www.tmart.co.uk
Tmart is a well-known leading online store which offers cool gadgets like cell phones, tablets, consumer electronics, games, car accessories, flashlights, toys, clothing, handbags, beauty products and even holiday gifts.
Shipping:
The offer FREE Worldwide shipping.
Payment:
They accept payment via Paypal, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Visa.
Smartphone that i am going to review:
A 5inch touch screen smartphone running on android 4.2.9 Jellybean
http://www.tmart.co.uk/Doogee-DG201...ar-Smartphone-EU-Standard-Yellow_p242376.html
My review:
This is the first android smartphone i have received from Tmart. The tablet arrived in a box packed neatly with all the accessories as seen in the pictures. The phone screen was wrapped with a plastic cover to protect the screen; on top of that, there was already a screen protector applied on the phone. This leaves the phone screen well protected from day 1 and also removes the need for me to get a screen protector.
Design and Display:
The DG2014 is a beautifully designed device with the dimensions, 143 x 71 x 6.3 mm. It has a rectangular shape in front and curves slightly at the back to enhance the user's grip. Weighing only 145g(with battery), it is also a fairly light device making it comfortable to hold. The sides of the device and made of metal giving the device a classy look although the back cover is made of polycarbonate. The power button is located at the left side of the device while the volume up and down button is located at the right side of the device.
The volume up and down button is 2 separate buttons making it extremely easy to press. In the front of the device, there are 3back-lit touch keys at the bottom, “Menu”, “Home” and the “back” button. All the physical buttons are made of metal giving us a good feel.
The large 5-inch HD IPS OGS screen has a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels with 16million screen colours. Picture quality on this screen is simply amazing and the screen is able to reproduce colours very well. The brightness can also be increased to very high hence allowing the user to see the screen even under sunlight.
Camera:
The DG2014 has both rear and front cameras. The front camera is 5megapixel while the back camera is a 13megapixel. With these 2 cameras, the user is able to capture high quality images using the rear camera or can even take selfies using the impressive 5megapixel camera. The quality of the image will be great. The back camera also has a led flash light to enable users to take picture in the dark.
i have added some sample shots taken by the rear camera below
Speakers:
The DG2014 has a back speaker which is able to provide decent music playback. Sounds are quite loud and crisp.
Processor and Graphics:
Equipped with a MTK6582 Cortex A7 Quad-core, 1.3GHz processor, the phone is very fast and loads applications quickly without lagging. The GPU is a Mali-400 MP which is able to run most games extremely well. Games such as “angry birds” and “cut the rope” runs smoothly on this phone. 3D games like minion rush are also able to load without problems.
Features of the phone:
Dual Sim – Allows for 2 sim cards to be using simultaneously
GPS and AGPS – Accurate location tracking when using apps such as google maps
Wifi+Bluetooth – Allows user to stay connected on the internet or to transfer data via Bluetooth
Network – Supports GPRS/HSDPA+/EDGE
FM Radio – Able to listen to radio on the go
1Gb Ram – Able to multi-task
Storage Space -4gb(phone storage) + 3gb(internal storage) + external sd card slot(up to 32gb) – Able to store your data with no problems on this phone. You wont have to worry about the lack of storage space
Detailed Specifications can be found on Tmart/Doogee website
Package Includes
1 x Cellphone
1 x Earphones
1 x Battery
1 x USB Cable
1 x Euro Standard Power Adapter
1 x Protective Film
1 x User Manual
Conclusion
The DG2014 is a mid-tier phone with very good specifications. Priced competitively at only 211SGD, it is a value for money. It also has a very nice ultra thin design making it looks aesthetically pleasing. I would strongly recommend this phone to anyone who has a low budget but wants a decent smartphone

Design:
It’s too thin that is my first impression when I saw it. The thickness is only 7mm so that we can put it into wallet. The USB jack and headphone jack is in the top. Maybe the headphone is a little small; it’s not easy insert the headphone. The frame is made of metal and we can find the power button and volume buttons on it. However, it is difficult to press these buttons down. The features of the back include main camera, dual LED light, logo and speaker. We can remove the rear cover to replace battery, SIM and Micro SD. It’s a great design to somebody who wishes to get long battery.

Display:
5’’ IPS QHD 960x540 display. It is enough big to view video with 5 inch screen. However, the definition is disappointing because it’s only 960 x 540. Most of the IPS display is good at view angles. Of course, this display also is great at view angles. What’s more, the brightness is OK. We can see the text clearly even in high light. As for color reproduction, it’s amazing.
Camera:
There are four modes in camera including Panorama mode, Face beauty mode, Live Photo mode and Normal mode. In the Panorama mode, we can take many photos, and then combine with these photos to get a bigger photo. If we want to become more beautiful in photo, we should choose the Face beauty mode. The live photo mode is interesting. In this mode, we can get a live photo when take photos. We can adjust the white balance and ISO to adjust to different scene for better photos in normal mode.
View attachment 2818122View attachment 2818123View attachment 2818126
We review the phone in normal light and low light. The result is disappointing. Speed is slowly in normal light and the resolution is not enough. It’s worse in low light. The camera even can’t focus in low light and there are so many noisy points. The sample is dark when ISO is 400. And then we adjust the ISO to 800, the sample becomes light but more noisy points. It’s only praiseworthy that taking and saving photos is quickly.
View attachment 2818120View attachment 2818121
OS:
The ROM makes some improvements base on Android 4.4. It’s very smooth and concise on the whole. There are many beautiful wallpapers for choosing. Many interesting widgets are prepared for you to show your character. The interface of music player is succinct and tone quality is well. Besides, it’s very smooth when we watch video even we speed video. However, the phone became hot after watching video long time.
There are many useful pre-positioned apps such as Gmail, Maps, and Sound Recorder.
View attachment 2818127View attachment 2818129View attachment 2818131
Battery:
The thickness is too thin to the battery is only 1950mah. However, the screen resolution is low and MTK6582 is power saving, so you can charge it once a day even longer time.
Conclusion:
Elephone P10C is stand out at design and ROM, but the camera need to improve. In my opinion, the P10C is worth owning.

Unboxing & Video Review:
Review Umi Hammer S
Package, Content, Aesthetics:[/ B]
The pack is a classic for the latest products Umi, a square box of a generous size with treatment embossed silver; on the rear we find a label with the model and IMEI numbers.
Box contents: Smartphone, 1 Power Adapter with USB socket EU 5V 1A, 1 USB cable Type-C, 1 booklet indicating the specifications of the smartphone and the arrangement of the various buttons / functions. There aren’t any additional film protector (1 is applied) and there are no headphones.
- External dimensions of the smartphone in line with other 5.5 "; it measures 154 x 77.4 x 8.5 mm for just over 200g of weight.
- Construction of good quality, use of materials pleasant to the touch and the side frame in aluminum.
- On the left side we find keys, and the right side we find the volume rocker on the top and the power button slightly lower.
- On the upper side we find the audio jack and the infrared emitter; on the underside of the microphone, the speaker and port USB type-c.
- In the back at the top center are slightly protruding from the camera 8 megapixel f / 2 sony imx164 (13 megapixel interpolated) and dual LED flash (not dual tone), and slightly below the fingerprint sensor.
- In the front we find the earpiece at the top, the camera 5 megapixel f / 2.4 fixed focus but with face detection and light sensors / proximity.
- The soft touch buttons are not backlighted.
- Cover fairly thin but with good interlocking with the body; It is smooth and quite slippery, but does not retain fingerprints (at least the white version). The physical buttons are directly on the external metal frame.
- External glass with rounded edges 2.5D with pre-applied film from the house offering a good flow and has a minimum of oleophobic treatment; no other films in the package.
- Display brightness is good, good viewing angle; HD IPS LCD screen with colors and sharpness well played good for the category.
- Touch-sensitive and comes with multitouch 5 touches, writing rapidly and with Swype function that you type with two fingers (Google keyboard used)
- Two sim slots: Both Micro Sim 4G (with dynamic selection software).
- Presence MicroSD slot with a capacity of 32Gb (I tested Samsung 64Gb and is properly recorded).
- Removable battery (weight about 55g) from 3200mAh declared, to the test with amperemether, we found about 3100mAh; Geekbench test has been very positive with more than 12 hours of screen on time.
- Android 5.1 without any customization and launcher 3 (to be replaced immediately with something better like Nova, Apus, Cm Launcher).
- Open the app and switch between apps very quickly, stock browser with a few bumps as always (we recommend Chrome). Task manager by pressing and holding the center button and option to clear all apps.
- Excellent management 16Gb of internal ROM that are available in a partition to 11.7 GB for apps and data.
- Good management 2Gb ram by Android 5.1 .. more than 1.5 Gb ram free after loading some apps into memory at startup.
Connectivity:
WiFi b / g with no problem stable signal, good power and coverage (not tested it in wifi dual band).
BT 4 tested pairing with headsets and car, also easily transfer with other Bluetooth smartphones
OTG: not tested because of the lack of USB adapter Type-C -> Micro USB
GPS: understated, cold quick fix in about 30 seconds but poor precision and tendency to lose the fix; we hope for a software fix.
Camera:
- Main camera Sony 8Mpixel f / 2 (13Mpixel interpolated) that produces valid shots with daylight; good focus and flash of good power; interface camera classic mediatek poor options; when using the flash or light conditions unfavorable, the quality of the shots falls but not overly, interesting seal at high ISO that allows to bring home click the "acceptable" even 1200 ISO.
- Sufficient video performance, slightly slow the focus and during the displacement along the axis of rotation, is present shuttering; the highest resolution of video is only HD .
- Secondary camera for Selfie 5 megapixel without autofocus but with face recognition, quality of the shots enough for video calls to some emergency selfie with good light.
