[Completed] I need help to what phone should I get to my grandma - XDA Assist

Hi xda community,
I want to get my grandma a "new" phone, running on at least android Jellybean. Price I am thinking of is between not more than 200 euros. I stumbled on some models I am thinking of buying: Samsung S4 Mini, Samsung S3 Mini, Sony XPERIA T, LG G2 mini.
Features I am looking to:
Bright, sharp display;
Good battery;
Reliable mobile signal;
not bigger than ~4.5" display size;
100-200 euros price;
And that it wouldn't crash often on low memory;
Android version not older than Jellybean, Lollipop preffered;
Anyone has an idea what model I should get, maybe has other models to recommend?
Moved to general thread sorry for disturbance. Feel free to remove this thread

[Completed] is there a way to buy a mid range phone & convert to STOCK android

Hi
Good day folks
I've been an iPhone user for long. Presently I'm using an iPhone 6. I've been wanting to test an android. My search lead me to various forums where I was advised that stock android is the safest, least troublesome. With a budget of $250 - $ 300 (max Max) I was told Nexus 5x is an option. Ultimately adding shipping etc, 5x, 6 etc were above budget !
So, I'm here with the question, "...is there a way to buy a reasonable phone within $250-$275 budget (+$25 shipping) & convert to stock Android ? Which phone and how ? how easy / cumbersome ?
TIA for tips and experiences
PS : I'm new here, so IF this is the wrong forum, please direct me.
Regards
Subu

[Completed] Best phones for modding, need some advice please

I'm finally looking to upgrade my phone from the Verizon SGS4. I'd like to stick to Samsung, though I know they've really locked their devices down since I setup my SGS4. I'd appreciate any advice from you pros, or if you can point me to some in depth guides if they relate to my question.
My question is, what phones are best for rooting and customization now? I like to keep my device as stripped down as possible.
My priorities are:
No bloatware/malware
ability to only load the few apps I need
security
battery life
processing speed
Thanks for your time!

[Completed] New phone advice - android

Hi. Need a new driver - looking for advice. I'm in the states with a t-mobile sim. Been using a Z3 compact which is about to die. Need something of comparable size - could be a bit bigger, but not into phablets. Don't like Samsung, Sony, LG and other mainstream, although I did have good experience with a nexus.
Elephone? Oppo? Oneplus? What else is out there that I can just buy and stick my sim card in?
Thx

[Completed] Current Fire vs 1 Gen Nexus 7

Hello,
I noticed on eBay that I can get a 1st gen nexus 7 relatively cheaply. So I just have a simple question, would this nexus have better performance than the new Kindles that are out today? I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong forum. Thanks to anyone who answers.
Mike
Thanks for the reply, but I was looking for some perspective. Someone who's used both devices and can give me a fair comparison between the two. My Kindle Fire is horribly slow, and pretty much sucks at everything. If the 1st gen nexus is the same, I rather not waste the money. I think making a spreadsheet is overkill.
