Hi.
Since I've upgraded to latest rom on my device, huawei backup is gone (?!?).
So what do you guys use to backup your devices? Specially launcher layout, which is a pain in the... after each reset.
No. I'm not rooted nor want to be
Thank you

You could try Helium (no personal experience). If not, it's going to be difficult because...

As far as I know only Huawei apps provide backup for EMUI launcher settings and home screen layout. Can any other third-party app do the same?
Even with Hw backup i can restores layout if I am just re-instaling the same rom version, because every time I upgrade rom restore does not make any effect

Does any one know how to do this? I really like the animations and functionality of GEL but it is a pain to re-setup my home screens and icon lay out every time i want to try a new rom. I used to use nova and backed up my launcher but I do not know how to do this with GEL.
Any tips?

The only thing I can think off is titanium backup to backup the launcher data. im not sure if will work but it worked when I use to have a evo 3D.

I've been searching for this same solution.. Titanium doesn't seem to restore the layout, so the data must be kept elsewhere.

I just updated my Nexus 4 rooted Purity ROM 2013-11-29 to 2013-12-02 build by doing a full wipe. I used Titanium Backup to backup "Google Search". After Google Market had installed most of my apps and I used Titanium Backup to restore the settings and install non-Market apps, I did a Data Only restore of "Google Search" and all the icons were back on my home screen. I rebooted for good luck and everything is restored and working well. :good:
from my test and experiences both are very stable and fast roms, truepure has great customization since its deodexed, battery life is good and its pretty smooth, after a couple of months with it i switched to the stock 6.0 odexed with may security update, boot, multitasking and opening apps is a lot smoother and faster than truepure, i did lose the ability to install themes and such but the smoothness and fluidity of the UI is incredible, i did install both with frankenclark .13 300hz version with rehyp scripts.
You know, I was seating over here thinking about going back to stock to try to get systemless Xposed v83. I think I may take the plunge.

I didn't. I manually installed the apps, and used system app remover to debloat the ROM a little, i only have about 15 apps so it's not hard to install everything again
I m using stock rom with stock kernel
was trying to use fc 0.13 kernel as well, both smooth for me

Try Titanium Back-up.
With the paid version you can backup apps in a batch or even a zipfile.

I'm on Stock With may security patch, root and xposed. It is very smooth and fast.
You can use Substratum to theme stock firmware if you want.

Thx for replying, I do have the titanium paid ver but every time I install it again after rom replace the app does not recognize the backup, I may do that manually, but that is the reason am not replacing too many roms

Well that's strange yes. You have the backup on SD or Internal memory? Have you tried to make an flashable ZIP file backup of your apps?

After the new ROM and installing TiBu, do you tell TiBu in the preferences setting and let it know where your folder is on the SD card? I have to do that then I can reinstall any or all apps. TiBu no longer finds it on its own.

I actually did the same thing, and i have to agree. Running stock kernel, slight customization with xposed + gravity box. Feels identical to trupure, only way more stable and snappy. Very happy with it.
Anyone try re-odexing Trupure?

For me, trupure was smoother than stock rooted. I tried frankenclark .13 300hz on both and stock it was choppy but on trupure it has been smooth. I may try to go back and see how it runs.

I really don't want to sound like an a-hole, but that is why you do a nandroid backup before flashing You could just restore the backup to uninstall.

Do like I do - I keep a nandroid backup of /system partition only. This way, I always have a way to back up my system in case I mess up (because almost always I don't need to mess with /data).

Hi, I've just unlocked my OP7Pro, the phone wiped itself and now I have some missing apps like file manager, notes app, and others.
Where can I find all those stock android 10 OP7 pro apps?

Yes.
I have this problem after the update I lost the weather app & file manager app & some stock icons packs and I just downloaded them from google play store without problem
Hi,
I have a recent problem, after unlocking and rooting my phone, I subsequently wanted to restore my apps with titatnium bakcup.
The problem is that either the apps do not start or the data is not restored. I also tried other backup apps, but it's the same every time.
What would be the problem? I switch from Mi5 xiaomi.eu Andoird 8 > Pixel 5 Android 11.
Thanks !
Nope ?
When I made the move to pixel 5, I started using swift backup. Was having too many issues with other backups and android 11. I had an issue with swift backup too, getting stuck during backup on a few apps, but I reached out to the developer on their telegram and received a beta version which works great.
Same here, but they your sent the premium version ?

Yes, I purchased the premium version then reached out to them about the beta. I was ready to just blacklist the three apps that were having the lock issue on backups, but then thought to reach out to them.
Ok, And is it the only app that works ?
