from my test and experiences both are very stable and fast roms, truepure has great customization since its deodexed, battery life is good and its pretty smooth, after a couple of months with it i switched to the stock 6.0 odexed with may security update, boot, multitasking and opening apps is a lot smoother and faster than truepure, i did lose the ability to install themes and such but the smoothness and fluidity of the UI is incredible, i did install both with frankenclark .13 300hz version with rehyp scripts.
You know, I was seating over here thinking about going back to stock to try to get systemless Xposed v83. I think I may take the plunge.

I m using stock rom with stock kernel

Try Titanium Back-up.
With the paid version you can backup apps in a batch or even a zipfile.

I'm on Stock With may security patch, root and xposed. It is very smooth and fast.
You can use Substratum to theme stock firmware if you want.

After the new ROM and installing TiBu, do you tell TiBu in the preferences setting and let it know where your folder is on the SD card? I have to do that then I can reinstall any or all apps. TiBu no longer finds it on its own.

I actually did the same thing, and i have to agree. Running stock kernel, slight customization with xposed + gravity box. Feels identical to trupure, only way more stable and snappy. Very happy with it.
Anyone try re-odexing Trupure?

For me, trupure was smoother than stock rooted. I tried frankenclark .13 300hz on both and stock it was choppy but on trupure it has been smooth. I may try to go back and see how it runs.

Atm App2zip does not work for all the devices, it's still experimental and not widely tested, so first of all, especially before backing-up something important, make some test to see whether it works for you (e.g. open App2zip and put in the flashable zip some apps you don't really care, uninstall them and then restore the zip via CWM recovery).
---------------------------------------------------
App2zip allows to backup applications directly to a zip file flashable via CUSTOM recovery, you can build your own update.zip on the fly, no need for PC.
ROOT REQUIRED!
Building your flashable zip is easy:
1) Choose the apps to be included in the zip file
2) Click GO! and wait until the zip is done. That's it!
Even system apps can be included in the zip file but make sure they don't have dependencies and they don't share data with other system apps (otherwise they won't be restored properly).
Restore via stock recovery is not supported yet.
Special thanks to:
michaelg117 (for the idea), Fnorder (signapk script), people in "flashable app backup" thread.
Google Play Link
Feel free to use this thread for any comment or report, if the app does not work for you please tell which device and ROM you're on. Thank you!
Sounds good

I'm planning to let the free version users to edit the zip file name along with new features for the pro version.
In the meanwhile i put in the play store an update (ver 1.02), more devices supported now, if App2zip didn't work for you give it a try.
I like the idea very much, but I have a questions (maybe a silly one).
Would it backup the apps and its data or only the app itself?
Sorry but I don't understand if it back up the data as well as on Titanium.
If it does I would be amazed since restoring them from the recovery should be way faster.

May i take a look at a zip file you make with App2zip? (PM me) please do not include paid apps!
Also, can you tell me which is the mount point of your internal storage?
In the modern devices with built-in emmc the internal storage card (emmc) is usually mounted as "/mnt/sdcard" while the removable storage as "/mnt/sdcard_ext" (or similar), if the emmc's mount point is different there could be some problem.
But, i'm just assuming, i'm still working on it.

Just updated App2zip to v1.03
- The name of the zip file can be easily changed even in free version.
- App2zip is now suitable for more devices, at least, it should be! any feedback is appreciated, this is the kind of work you can't test on the emulator
Just tested with 2 apps and flashed the zip and it worked, it stores apps back with data. Nice work

Actually, does anyone know if any of these are possible?
1.) Replace the Visually Built-In SuperUser with SuperSU found in the ROM Settings.
2.) Completely Remove/Uninstall SuperUser from ROM Settings so that it can no longer be seen or found.
If so, would you please be so kind in posting a simple tutorial?
Thanks so much in advance!
You would have to decompile the settings apk and remove the header for the superuser app. Then you would need to create a new header linked to an intent that would open the SuperSU package. Not really worth the amount of work if you ask me.
You do realize that by flashing SuperSU on top of a rom that already has superuser built in, superuser is completely removed and replaced by SuperSU regardless of the fact that it still has a header in the settings.

Thank you and yes I do understand that, but I atleast want to remove it if I can't replace it. For me personally, it sticks out like a swore thumb.

I apologize for my late reply. I wasn't aware that anyone has made a post after my last.
Anyway, just recently I discovered Xposed Framework and its awesome potential, so I am now using SuperSU and using Google's stock 4.4.2 ROM.
I really appreciate you offering to help me, that's really cool thank you. Now that I'm on the stock 4.4.2 ROM my only desire to still do this would be to implement/embed my SuperSU app into my settings which I think would be so cool seeing that its an original stock ROM. Similar to the way the custom CM ROMs do it but not the way they prompt you for root permission, I would simply like to keep the way SuperSU does it with its popup.
If you are still help me with this and willing to give it a shot, that would be really cool and I would feel pretty special having being the only one with SuperSU embedded into stock ROM settings . If you are still willing to attept something like this please let me know as I would be stoked having the original SuperSU embeded into the settings of the original 4.4.2 stock ROM . Thanks a lot!

Sure, but the problem is that since you are now on stock rom, the phone is now odexed. Each apk has a corresponding odex file, which makes it tougher to modify stuff like this. If you could switch the stock deodexed rom it might make this possible.

Oh, for some reason I thought that odexed ROMs needed some extra things done for apk modifications. Sorry for the misinformation.
I am running Mahdi ROM, latest version came with Superuser. I prefer SuperSU as it gets updated and maintained more often, so I flashed the latest (1.91) update zip and now I have both. It did not remove the integrated Superuser that came with the ROM settings.

Strange, looked inside the ZIP & it does have Superuser.apk (SuperSU 1.93) in system/app & su in xbin folder.
I must have forgotten to pull the superuser app out. I did a system dump of the rom to deodexed. It may be rooted then. I just test flashed it to make sure it booted okay. But I rooted using the su.zip so I didn't even check.

JUst root it like any stock ROM. No need for screen shots, not much changed in the GUI for you to see
can someone tell me why Deodex?
Well, deodex makes it easier to mod. When the Rom is odex, you have 2 separate files. The .apk file and the .odex file. The .odex file contains all of the smali code for the app. So, by combining the 2 files or deodexing them, you put all of the code for the apk into one file. Hope that clears it up a bit.
As for the Rom. It is completely stock. Nothing taken away. It can be rooted by simply flashing a supersu.zip our if you are using twrp recovery, it well tell you that you are not rooted and ask you if you want to install su and binaries. And it is my understanding that by selecting yes it well install all needed root files for you.
BETEO
Can you please directme to supersu.zip thatwill work? Trying everthing and I am on twrp recovery so fix permissions not working either. Thank you so much.
I think this is the one I used. Should be able to flash in TWRP recovery. will install all needed Super User files. also install busybox.

Any chance you'd release a version that has ALL of the stock Verizon/Samsung bloatware removed? If you could remove every possible thing that can be removed without causing system issues, that would be pretty awesome. It'll make the stock experience much better until all the good ROM's start getting ported/developed to/for the Verizon variant.
Beans you are quick

Deodex probably but if odex is easier for you, that's cool too. I would remove them my self but I don't know which system apps are required and which can be removed without issue, it also doesn't help that I see a lot of apk's that have non-descriptive names of what they are and do.
Would certainly send you a donation if you could do all that .
What slot size should we create? I dont remember the last time I used SS. I had unlocked BL
How long for the Deodexed version so I can check back? And BTW thanks for your amazing work!

all depends on the amount of apps u use. systemm is prob ok for around 2.5gb id leave cache as default and then pick data based on how many apps u install
