Musicplayer doesn't control smartphone anymore - Samsung Gear S2

I used my gear s2 to control my music on my LG G4 CM13.
Used BlackPlayer and Phonograph which worked great with the watch.
But suddenly I can't control my music anymore. No track skipping, no volume control, nothing.
It just show the tracks stored on the watch itself and want to connect to a bluetooth headset if I try to play any.
Have any of you the same problem? Maybe a solution?
I don't know if it's the last firmware update's fault or CM13 (I use nightlies and update nearly every week)

Open the music player app on the watch, then tap the three vertical dots on the right hand side of the circular screen. This should bring up a menu. Choose the watch icon and then it will allow you to change between playing music from your phone, or from the gear itself (it appears the latter is currently set up on your device).

Independent Navigation (or all app) volume control?

The newest versions of Google Maps and Navigation have combined the Navigation volume with the Media Volume. I've read that by rolling back the version of the app to somewhere around 5.7 - 5.8, you can get your separate Nav and Media volume back, however I'd like to keep the latest version. Is there an app somewhere that allows for control of individual application volumes (similar to the newer versions of Windows' volume mixer)? I'd like to be able to separate the voice and media again.
Thanks,
Dan

Or get the Pro version.
I use this app to keep the damned speaker phone volume being linked the call volume.

Close but no cigar. This app only allows volume control of existing system functions like media, notifications, ringer, etc. Since the latest versions of Google Maps cram voice navigation and media (music, etc) into the same category, I can't control them independently.
A little back story:
I have a new motorcycle helmet with bluetooth capability. I need to be able to hear the navigation over my music. I'd turn music off and JUST have navigation, BUT... there is a delay between the navigation speaking and the bluetooth realizing it and switching back on from an idle/sleep mode, resulting in me missing directions.
What I want is for pandora to play sweet and soft tunes into my earholes while I'm riding, and for me to be able to crank the navigation volume WAY THE HELL UP so I can hear it. With the audio constantly playing through it I won't have the bluetooth wake-from-rest problem that I have using navigation alone.

It's been awhile, so I don't know if my memory serve me right. But there is a hidden menu for the audio settings for the Charge. If you do a search for the code, once you in, you can set the volume for navigation and media volume to balance out. There should be a threads in this forum for the recommended settings. Good luck.

The hidden menu option looks like it works (I can still do test mode, screen debugging, etc) but the dialer code for the audio menu no longer works (I'm on FP1, stock debloated).
Back to square one.
I'd rather have the app I'm looking for than try to hack the audio settings.
Well, I have finally found someone with EXACTLY similar problem!
I also ride a motorcycle and also listen to the music while riding and ALSO use Google Navigation!! Long ago there were good days when some version of GMaps/Navigation had a separate volume control but now it's gone.
It is impossible to hear anything with the music playing. I have tried several workarounds - one of them is to use PowerAmp and to force it to pause music every time any "other" sound plays. It didn't work. Or, well, technically it did, but the difference in volume levels between the music and navigation was so high, that I couldn't hear a thing.
I see a lot of people posting thingies like Super-Beats, Super-Duper-Beats, Super-Duper-Awesome-Beats, claiming that this is some sort of "audio driver" that is getting installed "on the system level" so that the sound is better/louder/deeper/crispier. I guess what we need is a similar solution, that would just add more "audio channels" - a separate one for Navigation, probably for smth else.
Is it at all doable?
Cheers'n'thanks!

I have found that while I'm listening to my music via the Music Play app, the song volume mutes while making the notification sound (the music does not pause though).
see if that helps.

Missing Media Controller App?

Am I missing something or is the Media controller app not available for the Gear S2? I have spent hours trying to find/install the thing, but with no success.
If the Gear S2 is missing the media controller app? Why? Its such a useful app. Without it I am thinking of returning the device. This is how I control I would control what music is playing from my phone from my watch, its a hassle to have to pull out my phone only to skip to the next track or pause.
Is there any way to enable it?
On this watch it's the Music Player. If you tap on the 3 dots to the right, you'll get a menu and the top item will allow you to select either the phone or the watch as the source for music. The watch will be able to control the phone if Bluetooth is on.

You can also add a widget with remote control buttons.

Running and Spotify

Is there any fast gesture to get back to Spotify and be able to jump a song without the need to browse the app again. Annoying and allows you to stay under your running.

I your running and playing Spotify on your phone and it's connected to your watch then you can swipe left in the heath app when it shows all your information while running to change your song. I don't think it works for if your running with your watch only and want to change songs as I think the controls to change songs in s health is only for the samsung stock music app on the watch

Audio Controls Gone

Within the past week the watch stopped displaying audio controls when I start playing media on my phone. I was always able to pause, skip, rewind with apps like Stitcher, Google Play Music, YouTube, Netflix and now those controls dont show up. I am still receiving notifications from seemingly all other apps. I uninstalled WearOS from my phone, factory reset the watch, confirmed these apps in question have notifications enabled in WearOS but still dont have those controls on the watch. Anyone else with this problem? Thanks for any thoughts.
Not quite the same but notifications for One Football stopped appearing on my HW2 even though they are not blocked.
Media controls currently working for me....I Use Black Player for music

same here. I use DoubleTwist... I'm afraid I may have to back to Google Play Music....
I uninstalled the Huawei Watch app and only use the Watch OS app from Google and all my audio controls are now working and controlled from my watch. Could be a conicedence but i had no media controls before uninstalling and my watch face constantly reverted to the stock watch face every 12 hours all seems to be have been resolved with this action.
1.7 Update fixed it I think

default screen when playing music

is there a way to have the default screen be the music player control screen when the watch wakes and music is playing? ive had this watch now for 17 months and its driving me nuts. I dont play music terribly often, maybe once a day for about an hour or so, but i had flashed android wear on my old gear 2 neo and it had that baked into the tarball. Anyone been able to get something like this working on the S3 Frontier or any of the S3 variants?
From what I've seen so far no. But there are multiple ways to get to the player. Watch face with shortcut to music, quick setting pull down "playing" green bars only shows when playing.. click that will take you to music, a permanent quick setting icon, or make a music widget be the first widget when you swipe left. Hope that helps
