Hello all, tried searching for my issue and haven't had much luck.
When I take a pic it looks great on my phone, if I share it to fb it looks great, but if I send it as a text or hangouts message the quality seems pixelated. I've tried looking for different settings in the camera and Google messaging app, but no dice. It almost seems like when it sends it converts the image to a lesser quality, but that doesn't make sense to me

hi all brand new phone rooted but 1 problem , cant seem to find anyway to change the way the sms messages look , looking for the bubbles chat style layout or somthing else , this stock sms looks weird not sure maybe hwen i rooted it messed up or somthign all works fine just no option to change the chat style and i am not seeing my contacts display pic when we chat , pelase note my signature
on a side ntoe i really dont want to load a 3rd party sms app like to fix this one
there is only one view with the stock app.
if anyone able to post a link to the stock sms chat windows showing messages would be greatlly appreciated need to compare this and google isnt liking me atm
I recently changed from CM9 to Fallout 2.0. I like having the Sense UI back
What annoys me is that the contact pictures in this Sense-ROM look really crappy. Using CM9 I had hi-res pictures everywhere. It looked especially great when accessing a contact or getting a call.
But now on Sense 4 it looks very pixelated.
FYI: The pictures are synced from my google contacts.
Is there a possibility to improve the quality of the contact pictures?
i find that stock cam(endymion) has a much better quality than cm7 which i had previously.
Did you try to reassign your photos again to the contacts? I did that and it works when I change roms instead of using Google's back up assistance contact photos because I had that same issue.

Reassigning the picture on the phone did help. But I already assigned the hi-res pictures via gmail. This gets tedious if I have to reset each picture on the phone. Unfortunately this seems to be the only option.
Well, installing applications for additional functions is not what I was looking for.
I really was hoping for a setting I did not see. Because the contacts look great as they are without any tweaks on the phone when using CM9.

Hi all, I've wondered if you guys use some more "professional" camera apps.
I really liked Sense camera with a lot of options like manual macro, manual iso, etc.
Right now I'm on CM9 and don't really enjoy stock app... I've got the feeling that it has too little options and takes pictures of worse quality.
Do you have any suggestions which app would do better?
The Sense camera app relies on the Sense framework, so installing that one isn't an option. You could give Camera FX a shot.

I am very eager to flash this ROM. All I am worried about is the AOSP MMS quality. Has anyone experienced bad quality or blurry pictures when sending an MMS through the AOSP messaging app?
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I haven't flashed that rom but I'm pretty sure that will occur whatever rom you're running. Pretty sure they all use the same Mms.apk so it's going to have that effect on every rom. It sucks, I know. But I just live with it.
I'm sure most of you know that installing the AOSP MMS application through HyperDrive as your messaging program doesn't result in good quality MMS photos and etc. It loses resolution when sent. I knew of a few fixes for it, but I was curious as to how others have gone along with this problem (if you have installed the AOSP messaging app.)
The reason I want AOSP so badly is because of group messaging.
