hi all brand new phone rooted but 1 problem , cant seem to find anyway to change the way the sms messages look , looking for the bubbles chat style layout or somthing else , this stock sms looks weird not sure maybe hwen i rooted it messed up or somthign all works fine just no option to change the chat style and i am not seeing my contacts display pic when we chat , pelase note my signature
on a side ntoe i really dont want to load a 3rd party sms app like to fix this one
there is only one view with the stock app.
if anyone able to post a link to the stock sms chat windows showing messages would be greatlly appreciated need to compare this and google isnt liking me atm

When we install handcent or any other messaging app on our htc hero/samsung moment, we get the messages TWICE and dont know how to turn off the default and just use the installed "handcent" or whatever app we may be using...beautiful widgets have the same effect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated so we might enjoy some of these messaging apps.
you should be able to open your native messaging app, then options then disable notifications.
i was just curious to see if anyone would post there original sms apps so i can try them out on my phone i have an optimus v i know most wont work but just wanna try if anyone is willing to share ! just post you messanger app i think in most they are mms.apk but not to sure ...

Have you tried Handcent SMS in the market.? Its one of the best imo.

+1 to this. Of course the stock miui SMS app is great if there is a rom available for your phone. I love it.

ive treid handsent and i do currently use go sms pro they are great i just like to try
other mms/sms app for other devices (stock) just to mess w/ and i liked the stock sms app for a lil bit until i saw it as just bland white and annoying and no style to it but poit it i just want to try other stock sms/mms apps !

I have tried Go SMS too, but the flood of colors, blingage isnt what I want...but I do like the folder structure it has. All I am looking for is an sms app that displays sms msgs in folders and I can move a message from Inbox to a Save folder. Also if I can see msgs I deleted in a Delete folder, giving me an oportunity to move any to a different folder, respond or simply clear the delete folder.......
I just wanted to know if there was anyway that i can configure my Samsung Focus wit WP7 Root Tools to show i received a messages on the bottom of the lock screen just like the default messenger. I have the Kik in a folder tile and its getting on my last nerves i have to open Kik to see if i have a message. If it can't be done i guess I'll just take it out of the folder.
Sorry, No one has figured out how to get notifactions on the lock screen yet.. Might wanna keep an eye on the Custom Roms, they would be your best bet.
Custom Roms is that something in the future or is the future now, I'm new to all these unlock options and I'm having a blast so forgive me for sounding like a noob but I'am one, thanks.
I wanted to ask how do you setup a sms chat window the way you want it.. I mean I have loaded lots of ROMs on my infuse and the one thing that kills me is I find a ROM I like but the SMS window sucks... lots of ROMS have different ones so I know there is a way to do it... like the ROM I have now is the remICS-UX 1.2 and it has a chat windows with white background and it sucks.. remICS-UX 1.1 had a black one and I liked it... butI would really like to have the one that came with my infuse if I could change the colors.. can anyone help me with this?? Oh and also my SMS chat does not sync up.... I mean everything I text is on the bottom right and my friends is on the top left.. Not like a conversation where its what they say then what you say and then there reply. Its all them, them, them and then you, you you. Anyone help me please.

Howdy folks. I have looked allot on the net and I cant seem to find an SMS app that supports these options, (Read receipt, show when someone is typing and themeable sms app) except the stock sms samsung app that came with my S10+ but no themes or color change options. Problem is, I really want themes with these features and I cant find any text messaging app that supports it all. Ive tried several anyway and no luck. Does anyone know of any sms app that actually does support these options?
