about using apps+sd cards.

(you can skip the "story" but it would help you understand my question better)
ok , so of what i'v heard on the SGS4 if i buy the 16 gb version (its the only one i have in my country ) i will have less then 9Gb free to install apps, now from the rate games develop on android and mobile devices ,the amount of data the game needs is rising . for example , modern combat 4 weighs about 2Gb , that meand that i will be able to download about 4-5 games(in this level ) before i run out of storage .
(im talking in total , not only on the SGS4, it was for example... )
now my question is : can i use my SD card to store the data of games so i could download more games ?
if its possible :
it will probably be slower then using the internal storage , but will the game lag?
and how can i do it ?

There is an application called link2sd.It allows to link apps and there data and lib files to second partion made on sd card.I am using this application on my sony ericsson arc s phone which has limited ram,and I have lot of space and installed many applications on my phone.There may be degradation in performance in certain situations and may be degradation in sd life due to lot of read write acces.

Storage help 4gb space 1 gb user.

Hi all first of im sorry if its in wrong section im new...
So i have a huawei ascend y300 only a mid range phone but as like with other phones you never get the exact space advertised, so i get only 1GB space and not 4 , i have read about it and so many different answers so maybe someone could clarify a few things.
Is the rest of my space(3GB) used for cache partitions etc or for music and such or does music use the 1GB as my apps and games does, that simly would not be enough.
The reason i ask this is because i have some youtube vids of people play real racing 3 and RF2013 which for me is impossible as i 1GB simply wont cover it, so is it possible for me or android to install the large data of RF2013 or RR3 on to my sd card(removable one) ?

novice storage question

Hey guys,
I would like to buy 16GB version, but it's on long delay on Moto site and I need to ship this phone to my nieces in Ukraine by the end of August. So I bought 8GB version from Amazon to play with it and see how it works and really love the phone. The storage is the only sour point. 8 GB just does not cut it and Moto does not allow to use SD card storage for app installation. Moving apps to SD card works only for some apps and even then most of the storage being used is Internal, so 3-4 large games and this phone would be out of storage.
Is there is a way to force apps to install fully to SD card? Root + App2SD maybe? I do not have much experience with rooting and would like to avoid it, if possible due to desire to stay on OTA updates schedule.
Any advise?

To be honest rooting is your best bet for an optimal experience. I'm using CM and this phone can move more apps of you install the smaller version of google apps if it is really a big problem your only bet is to order the 16 and wait.

Transfer app to SD Card to free up space
Currently, there seems no tool can help you to move apps to SD card to free up space, but there indeed tools can be used to transfer photos, pictures, music,videos, contacts etc. to the SD card. If you are interest in it, you can read some tutorial for help

Transferring music and photos works wonderfully. And Google Play Music as well as Google Photos supports saving files on SD Card as default which makes it even easier to manage your storage. The apps though is a huge issue. I installed yesterday Walking Dead and it ate more then 1GB of storage of the puny 3GB available out of the box. Add here the app cache as well as storage required to do OTA updates and you really will struggle to install any large apps on the phone without running in 'out of memory' error messages.
The phone is wonderful otherwise - light, bright screen with excellent auto-dimming, good speaker and even better camera, responsive, waterproof (yes, I tested ), pure Lollipop Android experience , etc. etc.

[MOD] [FIX] dirt cheap new advanced phone out there for development?

I just came across a new anonymous phone with apparently advanced specs. it seems to cost under $100 and has an octa-core proc with lots of memory and space on it But I am trying to figure out how to fix and mod it to work properly
It is identified by XP as an HTC MK65xx, which got me interested from my Wizard, BA & Wing days and I downloaded drivers which seem to work from the ChinaMobile site. It installs as an MK6571. Whatever that is. It shows up in FMs as a 16 gig media device but with no space on the drive to install anything??
I have tried to get into the file system to see what is taking up all the space but cant see anything besides the photo-gallery which shows as being completely full, no space left, zero bytes used!
The machine is constantly trying to update flipboard, which fails with the usual out of space message.
Application Manager shows 16 gig used on the internal memory which it seems to call an SD card. (THERE IS NO SD CARD SLOT OF COURSE!!)Trying to take a picture results in the same out of space error message INSERT SD CARD as I get if I try to install any app from the app store!
Application Manager does helpfully offer to wipe all data off what it calls the sd card, which sounds adequately dangerous.
Can someone have designed a Chinese phone working on Android which has its operating system taking up all that space and loaded into RAM? Is this likely?
Download mode shows all in chinese and my chinese is a bit rusty (actually non-existent)

iS Android os restrict the number of Apps instilled in the device even with 256gb !!!

hello there first of all i have a lot of applications and try to instill it all at one time in the same device so i used the following device :
1- HTC ONE M8 32 GB
2- SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 4 32 GB
3- ASUS ZENFONE 2 - 64GB
4- LG V10 -64GB
5- Huawei mate 8 - 128 gb
6- samsung galaxy s7 edge 32 gb
7- samsung galaxy C9 pro 64gb
8- Xiaomi MI MIX 256gb
all the time i try to buy a smart phone with a higher capacity of internal storage
i try all above devices thinking the restriction is first from the company so i change the company many times , then i think it is due to the internal storage shifting from 32 to 64 to 128 gb and finally to 256gb of internal storage
now what i find is really frustrating me
all my test is going for the same result and conclusion that the android system restrict me to instill only about 650 applications at same time even with 128 , 256gb of internal storage and note that i try to instill at first time only free apps then only paid apps then mixed between each other
, ( every test i format my device for next test ) all test done on non-rooted device and about more than half of the capacity is free !!!
all apps in in latest update !!! even i try it in rooted device the result is the same ( i did not use any developer application or mode to get ride from this restriction because simply i did not know what to use ! )
what is happen if i instill more than this number at once
All the applications icon disappears and just system apps appears to me !!! and frequent error occur to me preventing me to use the device
the error message is ( unfortunately setting has been stopped )
so my questions is that ???
is it really that android system restrict us by instill only a small number of apps at same time !!!
( just to compare the opposite to my iPhone 7 plus 256 GB i instill about 1500 apps with no any issue !!! UN jailbreak one
