Hello,
My One SV is Taiwan's version, Android 4.2.2,Sense 5,rooted & S-Off
I have some problems with the phone storage.
Because the phone storage is divided into 2 parts in Taiwan's version, just like the attachment.(I didn't know whether it also divided into 2 parts in other versions)
The two parts are:
1.APP Storage,3.85GB
2.Phone Storage,4.15GB
Can I enlarge the APP Storage?Or can I clean the "OTHER DATA"in the App storage?
(Just like the attachment,2.7GB of OTHERS,Can I use Root browser or some other way to clean it?)
Because it shows that I don't have enough app storage to sync.
Oh,by the way,I have APP2SD,and move most of APPs to SD(I divided the SD card into two parts:FAT32&NTFS,and the APPs are in the FAT32 part)
Thanks.

If you are rooted there's ALREADY a specific thread for your issue called "Swap your internal and external memory (sd card)". Just search!

I don't think so

Oh,this is a good way to enlarge the storage. =)
but it can only swap the "internal storage(4.15g)",can't change the "app storage(3.85g)"
But i have another question,
can i clean the data in the 3.85gb part of storage?
i think that it is some way to clean the garbage data in that part.
Thank you in advance. =)

No,it is impossible to use external SD card to install apps WITHOUT ROOTING.
If you have rooted it,you can use the app "Link2SD",and move the apps to external SD card.
I could use some help or direction to the correct forum about transferring apps from internal storage to SD memory card
My phone is a Sony Xperia SP and useless to me at present unless I find the information to use my SD card.
Any assistance would be received gratefully

find your way into the applications manager and the list of downloaded apps. click on any app, and you should see the "move to SD" option.
note: this is only good for games and such. bloatware and system apps will always be stored on internal storage. and theres good reason for that. if you store system apps on the SD card and the SD card becomes corrupt, youll have some serious problems

The problem is adoptable storage isn't working, I had it working under Marshmallow and initially it was working under nuogat until I reset my phone, now i am unable to enable adoptable storage.
I enter the commands, they all take however when I go to check the phone storage it continues to treat the SD card as a removable card.

Im still on mm im on pc5 for g930p , and i attemted this within the terminal emulator on the phone its self and came up with broken sd that could be read but not analyzed and mounted so if i do this can again can u supply the process you used since samsung doesnt allow very much ways to utilize the sdcard since its a external storage , id like to have a 200gig internel than the 32gigs
I just ran into this issue tonight. I had a 64 GB card inserted in my phone since the day I bougt it. I am running the Nougat beta as well, and the phone's memory card was accepted as internal storage. I just purchased a 128 GB card, and for whatever reason, the commands aren't working to accept the new card as internal storage. Really hoping Samsung didn't kill the option to use the memory card as adoptable storage.
It does work with the app Root Essentials available at the PlayStore.
Make sure to wait for a couple of minutes after rebooting before unlocking the screen, though. If the SD Card isn't fully mounted and scenned yet, the icons from apps on the adopted storage disappear from the launcher.

I would recommend actually researching adoptable storage on s7 because you will come to reqlize how useless it actually is

I have and am realizing the limitations of it, and that is why I am on the fence of even trying to get it working again. I finally transferred more than 50 GBs onto it and really don't want to format it again for a feature that isn't completely there.
Has anyone tried to update to nougat with adoptable storage turned on in MM? At least it's still working?

If you have adoptable storage enabled and working, it will remain working with Nougat, or at least that wss my experience with the Nougat beta. If you don't have adoptable storage enabled or disable it then you will not be able to re-enable it in Nougat.

Interesting. To your knowledge, is there a way to get that working on a new card? As I stated in a previous comment, it was working on 64 GB with Nougat beta, but has since stopped working when I inserted my new 128 GB card.

Using the existing commands? No, maybe there is another way to enable adoptable storage in Nougat, if there is I do not know how to do it.
I actually pulled my phone out of the beta, downgraded back to 6.0.1 following the instructions in the beta and then re-enabled adoptable storage, now I'm waiting for Nougat to drop like everybody else.

Bummer I really loved the adoptable storage option, but I lost it once I changed the cards. While on Nougat, my phone did recognize the card as internal, but for whatever reason, as soon as I upgraded it, the phone wouldn't let me migrate the data over. Of hand, is the functions of the adoptable storage saved on the memory card? If so, I wonder if it is possible to do a dump of the files on the card onto a new card.

Can confirm my mixed adoptable storage ist working fine (60gb adoptable / 140gb extsd on a 200gb sd) after upgrading to Nougat.
The UI stuff is still there (migrate data and the overview in storage).

Maybe anyone can try:
sm set-force-adoptable true
before the sm partition step.
Seems this was a required step on other devices. https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg4/comments/3z1bfi/enable_adoptable_storage_on_your_lg_g4_stock_no/

I am using an 128GB SD card as adoptable storage in Galaxy S7 on MM. Did the OTA update yesterday and everything works well.
Adoptable storage is still there. In data storage it lists internal shared storage (32GB), SD card (118GB) and states as device
storage: 62 used out of 150 GB. So now it displays the correct sum.
When I select the security option 'Encrypt SD card' it says, that there is none.
Seems only thing I can do is set to save to ad going thru setting> apps> internet> advanced> save to sd
Granted I am new to android and is my first time using any of this, adb or such but unless I'm missing something. I did see one difference and I do not know if it mans anything but everyone said it would take a minute or two after the sm partition disk:179,0 private but my went straight to next command line as soon as I hit enter. That mean anything. Running 6.0.1 as of right now. S7 edge
Thanks
Is this still possible? If so, how do I do this? Preferably solutions without routing but any solution is welcome
For context I'm running Android Nougat (7.0) and this issue is regarding my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. As you're probably aware, the S6 doesn't have an SD card slot so I have to attach an adapter to use an SD card. This means that setting the SD card as internal storage would be a problem since I can't keep the adapter attached all the time, and if I unplug it part of my phones functionality would be affected, since it'll be formatted so my phone always expects it to be present (unless I'm mistaken). This also means that the solution of splitting the SD card into part portable and part internal wouldn't work either.
If you're wondering why I need an SD card its because I've run out of room for apps, I currently have no photos or music that isn't in the cloud so cleaning my phone out to make room isn't much of an option either.
If you need anything clarifying, just ask.
Moving apps to external SD Card
Google took a step backwards with this in the new update. Here's how you move apps from internal storage to your micro sd card:
1. Go to settings/applications/app manager and select an app you wish to move.
2. Select "Storage." Notice that the current storage location is provided. If the app is able to be moved to your micro sd card, there will be a "Change" option. If the app cannot be moved, thus field will not appear.
3. Change the location from Internal to SD Card.
4. Tap on "Move."
I have no idea why Google made this change, because it added more steps to this process than necessary, not to mention that it's a little harder to find on your own.

No, he described the normal "move to SD card" method, not the adoptable storage method, I think?

I doubted it would have it, nougat should have the adoptable storage option, not the "move to SD" option. That doesn't do you any good.
I'm not sure that you can even do what you're trying to do without leaving the sd inserted.

As far as I know, in newer android versions you can only move apps to adoptable storage.
What you want might be possible with root and a dedicated App2SD app. Without root this is not possible.

If you do what was suggested above, you won't be able to remove the sd card because the device won't function properly with it removed. You'll get an endless chain of FC's(app has stopped working) that will make your device uncontrollable because it keeps popping up with FC notifications. You won't be able to navigate the device because the notifications will continously pop up one after the other.

While this is true, I think it should work for apps that don't start automatically. As long as the particular app isn't used it won't bother, I guess.

Yes, depending on the app. Then again, Google play services update checks for the installed apps might get a little screwy when the card is removed. Only one way to find out, try and hope it works.

I have a Moto G4 Plus running 7.0 with 64 GB internal and 128 GB SD. The phone is encrypted.
I originally formatted the SD as Internal Storage and now want to remove it.
I am trying to use the built-in Migrate data function to move all my data from SD to internal but it tells me Not Enough Storage Space
I removed all my photos and music to bring the amount of migration data to a minimum.
Same error.
I went through all the apps on the SD card and individually moved to internal.
3 of them also gave the Not Enough Storage Space error - I uninstalled them and rebooted.
Still the same error.
The overview in Storage settings is as follows:
29.14 GB
Total used of 181 GB
Android OS 9.49 GB
Internal shared storage
14.93 GB used of 54.51 GB
SanDisk SD card
4.72 GB used of 117 GB

So there should be plenty of space for the 4.72 GB to migrate - 39.58 GB.
What is stopping it from migrating?

OK then, undo SD as internal, then backup the apps and data you want to keep, then factory reset to remove encryption.
Can't remove the card as long as it is setup as internal or enrypted, the device and the card are tied to each other, neither will work without the other.

You probably have too many apps to move everything to internal, you have plenty of storage but your /data partition probably isn't big enough.
You'll have to backup the apps and data, and store it on PC, then uninstall the apps. Then migrate what is left. Then go from there. You can put the apps and data back after you get done if you have enough space or another sdcard.
