I did a factory reload of a rooted phone with CWM.
Now for the CWM issue the Moto G loaded OK and then said there was an update for android to fix some bugs. This was 4.4.3. I loaded it and it gets half way and it then says
"Signature verification fail"
at the bottom of the screen and
" Install Untrusted Package"
The options are yes, no or go back
at the top....
whichever one I try it then tries to boot shows the Android / Motorola screen and starts up gets a txt message for 2-3 seconds... it then goes back to Android CWM recovery with the same options as above and repeats the process. again and again and again. No function keys will stop this cycle which just repeats again. This continues until the battery dies.
any ideas ? how can I override this action in CWM v6.0.4.6 and force it to do a factory reload ? any help or advice much appreciated.
The following thread had a similar problem and was fixed... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53404637

"If you can still power your phone, can you still access the boot loader? If so, I would suggest using adb from a computer to flash Phillz recovery. CWM always gave me a lot of random errors when flashing items. You could use PhillZ to flash the stock ROM for 4.4.2. After that, just follow the same process I did. Download the update zip via the OTA download when it prompts you. Once it's finished, DON'T boot back into Android. Boot into Phillz recovery from the boot loader, move the zip out of the cache and onto sdcard or your computer, and then flash it either straight from the phone or by sideloading it from your computer. Then you'll have a working version of vanilla 4.4.3, and you can flash over a custom ROM in the future if you so choose."
unfortunately I can't get into bootloader. I can connect usb and it makes no difference. therefore adb commands dont work. it just goes straight into screen described with those three options. I'm hoping that there is an override action in CWM which isn't power and volume down which do nothing.
If not how can I force it into bootloader instead please ? any suggestions appreciated.
OTA - Stuck on "Patching system image after verification." for more than one hour :-?
Hi all, i have a german o2 a9 and startet to do the ota update with the downloaded OTA file by loading with adb sideload after i flashed the stock recovery.
The a9 is S-OFF and bootloader unlocked.
Now it for more then an hour, is this normal?
I tried to reboot, but the a9 won`t reboot even after holding power button down for more than 10 seconds?
Any one who can help me please?
Thanks
Edit, figured it out, the recovery image I used was broken. I could restart by holding volume up AND down AND power and then get in download mode to flash the right recovery. After that I could update by OTA.
Hi,
I have a OnePlus One and I was having a lot of battery and network issues on Cyanogen 13.1 build version MHC19Q. I tried to do a factory reset but my phone would just not boot after the reset. It was stuck on the Cyanogen logo for over 50 minutes. So I tried to shut it down and redo the whole thing multiple times but I was facing the same issue.
So I tried to flash the ROM (downloaded from the Cyanogenmod support page). I did this through ADB but every time the installation stops midway because of
"signature verification failed"
And my computer does not recognize my phone on fastboot mode. I can only get to recognize the device when I go to recovery mode, do apply update from ADB
Please help!! I do not know how to fix this and I cannot do anything with my phone any more
I've got a D850 on MM. A while back I had a failed attempt to unlock the boot loader and install a recovery while on MM. Needless to say, if I ever try to flash any updates, I get 'boot verification failed'.
Overnight, an OTA update got pushed. It tries to reboot to apply the updates and fails with 'boot verification failed'. If I boot the phone up, the OTA updater kicks in about 15 seconds after the launcher appears copies the update and reboots to flash it after which ... 'boot verification failed'. Basically the updater starts automatically and I can't cancel it.
Any idea how to interrupt it?
I did try to boot to download mode to try to flash an older lollipop stock image, but it won't enter download mode. The phone was in developer mode with USB debugging enabled before all this started, but it's not recognized by tools like LGUP or the LG Mobile support tool...and I do have the drivers installed. The device doesn't even appear in the ports section of the device manager (Windows 10) when connecting it to the pc.
Is there a way to top the OTA updater or am I going to have to go down the short test route to be able to get download mode working and flash an old image using LGUP?
I was having the exact same issue...messed with recovery a while back and then phone auto updated at night. heres how i fixed my phone:
***Warning*** You will lose all data on your phone ***

Hi, my samsung galaxy s7 doesn't boot up after flashing stock firmware. In the past days i've successfully installed twrp and lineage 16. After some problems due to making some apps as system app. I've tryied to reflash the stock firmware with odin but it didn't get past boot logo. After trying some other times my phone decided to die without any possible to boot up in download mode. The only sign of life it has is when i plug into a computer and it says "an error has occurred while updating the device software", it suggests to use smart switch for an emergency recovery but the program doesn't recognize the phone. What can i do?

Flash it again with the correct firmware for your device. Charge the phone first to 50%.
