I am trying to check update but showing a message that "we are unable to update" (as showing in the screenshot). I am rooted but using the stock rom. can somebody explain and give some information regarding this issue ..?? :silly:
PS: I am using the phone in India so i'm using wifi to update.
Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you can't update over wifi. You need a data connection and I'm pretty sure it has to be a Verizon connection. There's a few other posts regarding this around here somewhere but I don't think a solution has ever been found other than to flash a rom that has the update in it.

If it's a Verizon version of the one (which is what this section is for) then you do indeed need to have a connection to Verizon's network to check for the update, yes it can be downloaded on WiFi but the initial check for an update must be done wit h a Verizon connection
There's an update? Are we finally get extreme power saver?

Hi everyone, i'm in trouble with deep sleep. I'm on a G920i (VIVO-BRAZIL) and i can't get into deep sleep. I'm using Xtrestolite with UNIBASE Kernel, rooted with CF Root and flashed SuperSU, and my cellphone never get into deep sleep. I've already tried to use DeepSleep(zip) fix patch by chainfire, typed the code into ADB/Shell, used stock, custom recovery...anything and nothing! Still stuck in 400mhz..
Looking at BetterBattery Stats (Kernel Wakelock), on top i have GPSD, second GPS, third Ili_pm_wlock, fourth, 13930000.decon.fb, fifth PoewerManagerService.Display, sixth PowerManagerService.WakeLocks, seventh ssp_wake_lock. My guess about this wakelocks is, I have to desable all fuctions to get into deep sleep? Like GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, etc?
Second guess, what to do? Any procedure that you recommend to me?
Thank you for helping!
I'm also on Vivo-Brazil G920i, but I'm fully stock and I have the same issues.

It really makes me think about how much I wanted my phone to work right out of the box. Ww shouldn't be having this amount of trouble just for having a decent battery life.

I flashed the SuperSu, then DeepSleep patch, wipe cache dalvik and vualaaaa deep sleep it's working. I'm doing some tests to confirm that it work with wifi on, gps... etc! If you want some help send me MP
EDIT.: Well, after a couple of hours my deep sleep it is gone again. Seems that GPSD is killing it. If anyone knows how to deactivate or what to do about it pls help, I'm getting a lot of battery drain again

Are you on stock? Seem like there's no fix for stock in this moment. I've searched basically everywhere.

Isn't deep sleep patch working? This is basically the greatest reason why I want to go Xtrestolite, I hope it isn't false propaganda.

I think it's integrated on the kernel. I never flashed the patch and it's working flawlessly.

Ok, I misunderstood it. Glad it works! I'll try these as soon as someone gets a way to root G920I on 5.1.1 without tripping knox.

I'm on VIVO 4G, 3G, 2G... tried everything and i only have deep sleep after flash SUPERSU, DEEPSLEEP PATCH, WIPE CACHE/DALVIK, and then it work for a couple of hours at maximum, sudently GPSD drain my battery and blcok my cellphone from get into deep sleep. Don't know what to do! Any help?

gpsd (standard battery meter on android) and cellgeofenced (as GSAM battery monitor shows) are the biggest offenders even on stock. maybe it`s a hardware issue IDK
I have the same issues with my Galaxy S6. My was bought unlocked in brazil from the retailer "Submarino". Since the first day I realized that the battery was draining in the speed of the light.
I used the CPU Spy Reloaded and discovered that the phone never enter in Deep Sleep mode.
Tryied flashing a stock indian 5.1.1 ROM, swipping cache, but the problem never get definitively solved.
Now there are just two possible solutions to me: asking Samsung for a refound, or waiting hopefully for an update.
I refuse to root or use a custom ROM because I don't want the warranty to be voided.
I used some apps trying to find a solution, but none could help me in this case.
Do you solved your problem? What did you do?
Cheers!!!

I am also on india 5.1.1 (vivo - brazil) and got an OTA last week. This OTA (build COGA) solved my deep sleep issue. I was going crazy.
Check for a software update.
I am already using the same build, but the problem still unsolved for me.
I will sell this piece of [email protected] and buy another smartphone.
The warranty won't solve the problem.
How is your battery life with the Indian firmware on G920I? I get a G920l from my carrier (Entel in Chile) and my battery life is a crap.

The truth is: samsung sells pretty good hardware pieces with the worst software of all.
My battery is working the worst way as possible. Overnight the cellphone spent 25% of battery charge with everything closed, wifi and 4g both disabled. Only buy a Galaxy S6 if you want to root the device.

Hi guys
Since going to Lollipop (not sure if was present since 5.0.2 too) my battery life has been pathetic compared to before. Currently i am on 5.1.1 and i struggle to get a day use out of the phone (i ALWAYS have it on STAMINA mode). However previously i would get 2 days use out of my phone easy with 6 hours SOT. Im wondering is it worth going back to 5.0.2 or should i just go back to kitkat and if so, how? I downloaded the firmware but not sure how to get my phone into recovery mode. My phone is stock, i have tried turning phone with volume button down but doesnt work.
Btw my usage has not been any different, don't have facebook, use my phone for Whatsapp, web browsing, music and thats about it
So basically should i go back to 5.0.2 or KK is the question? what are your guys experiences.
Flash Xposed, use Mobile Radio Active Fix module. Disable fast dormancy, too, for good measure.
Or wait for 6.0.

Does the fix actually work? I thought it just masked/hid it?
Try another 5.1.1 rom ?

I can't tell yet, not enough time has passed since I installed it.
If battery life is your priority then go back to kitkat. It will last longer than lollipop.
May have to.
5.0.2 does seem better already but not as good as KK. However I'm wondering do all apps still support KK and work as normal?

Most should. Check out the apps on Google Play and it will have what android versions are supported.
Having 5.0.2 installed for a few days now battery life does seem to be improved abit however it still doesn't keep on going like KK. Having said that, android M should be released soon (hopefully) so may wait for that
Google only recently acknowledged the Mobile Radio Active bug on Lollipop, on the 15th of Sept I believe they finally assigned a dev to look into it. By the time it's fixed I suppose Android M will be out, which is also affected but apparently they fixed it in recent updates.
I thought they were supposed to address the issue in android M

They are, but with the amount of anger on the bug tracker they assigned a dev for Lollipop as well, I think its the same person infact.
I thought they recognised the problem back in May or something? I think i may just hold out for Android M 6.0 but it is really frustrating to know every Lollipop rom/software has that bug.
The bug report was filed long back but was not officially recognized/accepted on Lollipop till mid Sept.
Okay after several days on 5.0.2 my battery is no better it still is a joke, going to revert to KK.

after you reverted to 5.0.2 did you go into recovery and clear cache and dalvik? Then allow a week to settle down?
Bug has been there from 5.0.x to 5.1.x. I'm very disappointed that Sony hasn't done something about it.

Hi all.
After the first marshmallow update for my Z5 I noticed that whatsapp message count stopped working.
Even after todays update it still doesn't work, which worked perfectly fine before the marshmallow update.
I'm in the stock Xperia launcher.
Any ideas how I can get it back or is it a known change?

It's not just you anyway. I think I saw some more discussions around here about this but I can't remember if this was a Sony or Marshmallow thing...

I had this happen a few days ago here at work, but the problem was the router and not the phone.
I'm using stock lollipop.
Update bootloader and radio to the latest August update. Worked for me.
