Flash a different regional firmware? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions and Answers

Can I flash a different regional firmware to my G930F? My G930F came with Trinidad and Tobago CSC, build number and I want to flash the UK firmware so I can receive the latest update.

Will I be able to unbrick it through ODIN if something goes wrong? I want to do Dual SIM to Single SIM conversion just for the sake of quick updates.

I'm not sure how different the international S7 variants are from each other. But here in the US they are all the same except for the software so I heard. I got a Sprint S7 to which I wanted to use on T-mobile. So I flashed Tmobile's firmware on my sprint variant and turn out great, have wifi calling and everything is working great.
So it couldn't hurt to try it if you know what you're doing and like you said, worse is just odin back to your stock firmware.

I have the 920F S6 that came with UAE firmware. I flashed XEF France firmware with no issue and assume the same would be true on the S7.

International variants have two versions. Dual SIM and Single SIM. Will doing this ODIN process void warranty or trip any counter?

I flashed the UK firmware on my s7 and it worked. I had the Trinidad and Tobago firmware before. I have the latest update now.

my ap version is G930FXXU1APB4, and the csc is G930FUUB1APB4, which matches up to your Trinidad and Tobago one...

It shouldn't had been with UAE firmware. It was most likely US/International version. BTW it was better getting one from Souq instead of Amazon. Haven't seen Amazon mostly do international shipping on smartphone.

for future reference, you should check frequencies used by both carriers before flashing
https://www.frequencycheck.com/
if they dont match, you could have trouble with internet speed or battery life.

hi all,
if i flash the s6 g920t firmware into G920I firmware,does it work?
anybody can help me how to flash?

I checked firmwares on Sammobile for my Galaxy S6Edge G925I with a Singaporean CSC. However nougat for G925I is only available for India on Sammobile. I live in Pakistan and use a Singaporean G925I so will a firmware built for Indian G925I work for me??

[Q] Need help on Stock Firmware for SM-G920FD Dual Sim version

Hi,
Update:
Can someone help me find any download source of this firmware,
Galaxy S6 DUOS, SM-G920FD
As I wanted to revert back to my unrooted + clean version of my phone when new update to Lollipop comes.
And if I feel to just reset everything, (sluggish/crawling) performance on my phone, a full flashing of stock firmware will be a good solution for me.
But unfortunately, from SamMobile firmware website, they do not have that kind of firmware on my phone.
Can you please, if any, share your firmware . Any help will be appreciated.
Details:
AP: G920FXXU1AODE
CP: G920FXXU1AODE
CSC: G920FOJV1AODE
Model: SM-G920FD
Android version: 5.0.2
A sigh of relief, i have found an existing post from this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61221936&postcount=226, a big thanks to him, its the one Im looking for
However, the firmware I have says that the CSC is from Mauritius , Im looking for CSC flashables from Philippines, FAM, GLB, OLB*, SMA, XTC, XTE
I wonder if someone could share their *CSC only zip file from Philippines, so that I could change mine. Im not sure CSC does have any issues with single sim versus dual sim?
Up this thread. Anyone?

I can assure you that any countries with SM-G920F is compatible with all international s6 dual phones .
I already tested firmwares of SM-G920F from Afghanistan, France, Egypt etc. It works fine for our Dual Sim version( SM-G920F)
does OTA still works after you changed firmware with a different one from other region?
G920F and G920FD firmware compatibility
There is no compatibility between the stock firmware of s6 (G920F) and s6 duos (g920fd). I tried and messed up with my phone and now got stuck on bootloader.
i suggest you use Z3X to download the firmware for G920FD because till now there is no firmware support at sammobile. i got one from z3x support

best International firmware

I purchased the S7 G930F and it was installed with Panama firmware (TPA), using Odin and sammobile I installed United Kingdom BTU because it had received the March security patch. Is there any particular firmware that is best for using in the U.S. on at&t/cricket wireless?

Yup there is no best firmware... I'm also using the 935F in the US... I usually flash the BTU firmware on my international phones but might try the latest for NEE... As long as it has English and no bloat ware it shouldn't matter

Use Firmware Of A Different Model

Hi,
I have a S8+ with the model SM-G955FD and was wondering if I am able to download the firmware for the model SM-G955F?
The phone was purchased outside of Australia and doesn't use the Australian (Telstra) firmware that I would like it to. I just figured they are the same phone just different model numbers so there shouldn't be any issues right? I might just lose a couple features or something but the phone should work correctly?
Thanks in advance.
Yea, the G955FD is the dual SIM Exynos variant, right?
I'm sure the dual SIM uses the same firmware as the single SIM, so you should have no worries flashing Aussie firmware.
But I would suggest you flash the XSA (Aussie unbranded) firmware, not Telstra firmware. You'll lose nothing, but you'll get faster updates.

Here's the XSA (Australia) firmware:

Flash it. Doesn't matter if your device is G955F or FD, the ROMs are exactly the same.
Does the method works with G955J SCV35 model? I'm running NTDocomo firmware on KDDI model to unlock network (single SIM) . I wan't to flash unlocked U firmware but getting scared that the phone will be bricked.

G930FD
That should be fine, the G930FD is used internationally so swapping region firmwares would work. You can get different firmware from sammobile.com or updato.com.
You can also flash G930F firmware if you don't find the G930FD firmware you're after, and the dual SIM should still work. At least that's what I've read here.

No it won't... I've flashed the G965U AT&T firmware on to 5UI unlocked with AT&T user data and both the home csc and regular csc files, and none of the carrier specific software works. Furthermore, you will limited to only 4G speeds during phone calls on the 5UI, at least with a AT&T sim card. This is my biggest pet peeve with this phone.

I don't know what I may have done differently, but did exactly what you did and I have everything working. Flashed AT&T rb7/rbg and user data over stock u1 firmware after factory reset. Volte/wifi calling, lte during phone calls and video calling work for me. I'm att/att/xaa, knox wasn't tripped.
The only thing I have as a complaint is it doesn't fetch ota's. So I have been reseting and Odin-ing updates as they roll out.
Thanks op for the files

Hope you do not mind me asking but I am new to Galaxy devices. Nexus/Pixel was always my choice but after having a bug filled Pixel XL 2 I decided to give the S9+ a shot. Not familiar with how the firmware for them work so I thought to ask you since you look to be very helpful in this thread.
I have T-Mobile S9+ which was updated to latest March 1 security update. I would like to flash it to the unlocked firmware. Is this https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=182E00202C6211E89F15FA163EE8F90B the same unlock firmware you posted?
Would I be able to use WiFi Calling, HD Calling and all other features on T-Mobile with the unlocked firmware?
Thanks for the help!
