Hey there fellow XDA'ers, I seem to be having an issue with my XT1032 right now, it was working fine up until last night; for some unknown reason, when I tried tapping on the Network icon when you pull down the notification bar from the top of the screen to toggle my Mobile Data, it didn't do anything, just went back to home screen. So then I tried rebooting it and now says No SIM Card (and did try turning it off, take out the SIM, reinsert it and turn it back on), and all of my recent apps are still there. Usually none are in 'recent apps' after a reboot, and when I tried to go into Settings then tap on 'More' (under Wireless & networks section) it does nothing (but just force close I guess?), and goes back to Home Screen. And well now it won't boot past the Bootloader Unlocked Warning screen, it doesn't loop though so it's not caught in a bootloop, but I don't know what the hell happened; nor have been able to find a fix for it. It was rooted, but had to flash the Stock ROM then did the OTA updates (it was @ 4.4.2 while rooted then OTA'd up to 4.4.4, then 5.0.1 then 5.1) and there's no custom Recovery either, so it's all stock right now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

So, basically I am at a loss. I ususally spend enough time on problems like this until I solve them myself, but now I really need the help of others.
I rooted my Xperia X10i, installed some custom ROMs, everything went fine. The phone was still a bit buggy though, so I decided to go a step further.
So I unlocked the bootloader (using some threads from this forum), and had no issues with that either.
Then I installed the custom DoomKernel from here (the failsafe one!):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253853
It booted just fine, but I noticed I had no Wifi and my SIM card wasn't recognized. So I installed the Wifi modules that can be found in the same thread. I'm not sure which ROM I had on the phone at this point, since I tried many different ones.
The problem is now, that when trying to get the Wifi working, some time after a reboot the phone would ask my pin-code, and after that just gives a blue screen, instead of the usual home screen. I can slide my status bar down, and from there I can access some things, but not much. Basically I can only see that the phone does't seem to recognize my SIM card (even though it asked for the code?) and my wifi doesnt work either. Without a home screen I can't open my apps or anything.
I have since tried to install different ROMs. Again only the status bar works after a boot, besides that all I see is the standard background. Some ROMs can let me turn Flight Mode on from the status bar, and when I click it everyhting works again (except for any wifi or service, of course).
I have also tried to flash different kernels since, but nothing changed. So I used the SE PC Companion to get back to all the official SE 2.3.3 stuff. Still only the status bar works. I can still flash kernels and ROMs and boot into them succesfully, but I will always get a blank screen with just the status bar after tying my PIN code.
So... does anyone have a clue how to solve this issue? Any way to COMPLETELY restore all the phone's software, since updating or repairing using the PC Companion leaves the real problem untouched? Many thanks in advance!
Ok, resolved the issue. Apparently something went wrong while unlocking the bootloader. Restore it by clicking on "Restore" in the newest S1Tool (older versions don't have that button) and everything is solved. Just note that if you have a kernel running that requires an unlocked bootloader at the moment you restore the bootloader, obviously your device won't boot any more. Don't worry, just flash another kernel in that case.
Hello, tried finding a thread with the same issue but was not able to.
I did my first flash to a custom and the ROM flash went without any issues.
(TrickDroid for the S4 ROM)
Installation went fine, phone started up and I started setting up the accounts and WiFi.
Then when those steps were done the "update is available" screen came up.
There I have to choose data connection, WiFi only or any connection with the OK button at the bottom.
Well nothing happens when clicking the OK button and same result choosing either of the two choices.
Update available screen is the first thing I see after each reboot.
Done this update a few times before when phone has been reset due to updates and then it has worked just fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
EDIT: I reinstalled Trickdroid and removed my simcard before booting.. That way I got past the system update screen and am now able to use the phone.
Also disabled auto update and hopefully will not get stuck at that screen again.
Okaaaay... I am going to share my story because it ended up fixing my WiFi issue and I have read some similar issues. So after being rooted on 4.2 I broke it with the OTA 4.3 I wanted to check it out. I then used chainfire to root again. I blacked out hangouts, I installed 4.4 launcher, and xposed framework with 3 modules. I noticed that when I toggled my WiFi on it would hang, it would get stuck on "turning on...:" sometimes it would turn on, and I would enter my password, then it would hang right after I pressed connect then eventually it connected. If I restarted my phone, turned off the WiFi or left the area.. I would go through the same issues. When I pressed the toggle it would not show up as green to display on or grey to display off. It was a dark green trying to turn on.
My recovery is TWRP. This is what I did to try and solve it. I took off all the xposed modules. Nothing (as suspected), I did a factory reset.. it did not work. I tried *#0011# and pressed the menu button and selected wifi and turned off wifi power save. That did nothing.
I finally made the decision to break root put everything back to stock in case I need to take it back. Instead of Odin I thought I would give Kies 3 a try. I downloaded Kies 3, plugged in my phone and selected Tools>Firmware upgrade and initialization. It went through its motion.. I noticed that KNOX went back to 0x1 it booted up. Wifi worked.. perfectly! I also had all my apps still installed and didn't lose texting or have to put in my accounts again.
I am going to re root it and see if it recreates the problem.. Hopefully not. I'll advise.
**Update** Re-rooted..using chainfire's method WiFi works great..

do you solve the wifi problem with this? i have the wifi problem...
Hello. I have a rooted OPO, running 05Q. Last night I finally succumbed to the temptation to flash a ROM. I used the app "CM downloader" to obtain the latest nightly of CM12. Using TWRP, I created a backup, then installed the downloaded ROM. It didn't work; the phone got stuck in what is, I think, called a bootloop. That is, it just kept showing "Updating Android" then going back to a CM animation, over and over.
After letting this go on for quite a while, I powered the phone down and rebooted into Recovery. From there I restored the backup I had created. That seemed to go without a hitch; everything looked as it did before I set out on this adventure. But when I let the screen go dark after 30 seconds of not doing anything, I found that double-tap wouldn't wake it, and neither would pressing the power button. It seemed to be still working, since notifications were coming in, but I couldn't get the screen to light up. So I did a reboot, which worked, but only until the screen went dark again, at which point I had the same problem.
So...I used Titanium to backup all apps and settings, and did a "reset to factory", then restored apps and settings. This seemed to work, but once again I found that once the screen went dark, the only way to wake it up was to reboot. And again, even though the screen was dark, the phone was working. I listened to a podcast while driving to work, even though I couldn't wake the screen up.
Any ideas what the cause of this might be? I did check the Settings to make sure the double tap to sleep and wake were turned on. Everything was as I'd left it. And in any case, even the Power button wouldn't do it.
You need to flash cm11 firmware, that is the radio and stuff to get your cm11 05Q to work properly again
Edit
You should flash this

Thank you, that worked!
I have a 3rd gen Moto G I've not used in a while and wanted to get it set up. I'd previously factory-reset the device and was going to sell it, turns out it's not worth a great deal so I wanted to use it as a spare.
When I turn the device on I get the green/blue screen to choose the language, I click the yellow next button. The device says "turning on wifi" and stays like that, eventually it will say "Unfortunately settings has stopped" and take me back to the beginning.
I've tried:
Putting my sim in hoping I could skip the wifi - 'skip' is greyed out
Doing a factory reset from recovery
Restarting the device is safe mode
None of the above worked. Is the device bricked? Is there anyway to flash a ROM without having access to the OS on the device?

You can get to the bootloader, so you can flash a factory image via fastboot. Look in the General section, there is a how to flash thread and a firmware thread.
