So, I am running a rooted stock lollipop rom of the latest version thanks to another thread.
Now I am trying to find a toggle app or switch to force "4G LTE only" mode because it keeps dropping to 3g and it's driving me crazy. Every app I have tried on the google play store says incompatible with my device or it just crashes. I'm at my wits end. I have tried searching for a solution but found none.
Does anyone know or can recommend a good app that will function with this infuriating phone? Frankly i'm amazed that I was even able to obtain root after the bootloader lock mess.
Running the G900V
Lollipop 5.0
PB1 Firmware
Edit:
I managed to find a solution in this thread.

It works so far as i can tell.

Hello,
just found this forum and hope to find help with my problem.
I received an OTA update from Jelly Bean to Kit Kat 4.4.2 three day ago.
I bought the phone in US but use it in Germany.
No problem for over a year with Jelly Bean.
Since the update the mobile data connection is not working.
I reset the phone to factory settings, mobile data is activated, APN is entered.
No connection.
WiFi works so far, but it seems from time to time it switches off by itself.
I need the mobile connection, otherwise the phone is useless for me.
Is there a possibility to flash it with Jelly Bean, or to get somewhere a Kit Kat version not Verizon based.
If I can't get it to work, it seems I need to get a new phone.
Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated.
Thanks
Urb
Hi there,
have you tried changing your network mode in mobille network settings?
I tried the kitkat update and had mobile data availiable in germany.
Next question would be, is your device locked or unlocked? If you have an unlocked device you could simply downgrade as I did.
Best regards
No mobile data after Kit Kat 4.4.2 update
Thanks for your answer.
Yes I tried to change through different network setting to no avail.
I used this phone for 1,5 years in Germany without a problem, until the upgrade to kitkat 4.4.2
I am not sure what you mean by locked/unlocked.
It's open for all network operators.
How can I downgrade the phone?
Maybe the OTE upgrade was faulty. It seems I can not use WIfi and Bluetooth at the same time, another bug?
I would try to install the system a second time, if thats possible.
It would be a shame to kick the phone, I was quite fond of it until this whole mess started.
Thanks
Urb
Please do the following so I can be sure if you are locked or unlocked:
1.) Power off your phone
2.) Power on your phone by pressing the power button and the volume up button simultaneously - you should be in a menu
3.) Press the volume down key twice and then once up
Now you are in the AP fastboot-mode. There you should find someting like "Device Status". It will read either locked or unlocked with a number.
If you are locked the only option you have is to stick on that firmware, but as far as I know you can reflash the entire kitkat update.

Follow this step by step. Please read carefully and double check every step.

Thanks
I checked, it's locked.
I will try the link you recommended. As it seems the only way, I am not sure if it will work anyway. Just my suspicion that the OTA download was faulty.
Cheers

I hope you can get it to work properly again

Thanks for the support
Hi,
thanks for the link, I was scared to start the whole process, so I decided to check if another sim card would have similar problems.
It turned out, another sim card worked just fine.
I started to realize that it must be a UIE, or at least a partial one.
So I remembered that my current sim card, which has been working 1,5 years without fault, used to work beforehand in a Blackberry 9800.
So I guess the KitKat update somehow blocked the services, phoned the service provider, and they switched off the BB services in their system, since then the dataflow is ok, and I can enjoy my Droid. No need for replacement.))
But I will keep the link for future reference.
Thanks again for the support.
Cheers
Urb
Glad to hear that everything is working fine now.
Enjoy your Droid

Please help. When I tried to install a custom rom onto my samsung galaxy s3 the phone rebooted and came up with a message saying. "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help. " I need to know how to fix this quickly so my parents don't find out and I am not able to go to a nearby Verizon store. I just want my device to work and I do not care if files are erased, as all I want is for my phone to work on android 4.4 kitkat and still be able to text and make phone calls. Is there any possible way to do so?
Thanks, for considering!

What version of Android is it currently on?
Off hand I would think it's either on 4.3 ML1 or 4.4.2 NE1. You will have to use Odin to go back to stock which will solve your problem. Both mentioned bootloaders are locked and you cannot install a custom rom. Your limited to certain roms based on which version your on and those will be touchwiz based roms only

Hi all,
I have an S6 that I am trying to downgrade. It is on 6.0.1 but reboots randomly multiple times a day. I downloaded 5.0.2 stock firmware for Bell and tried to flash via Odin but receive the following error:
sw rev. check fail device 4 binary 1
Not 100% sure what it means. I think the device 4 means that it has been updated and can't be reverted to a lower firmware. If I am wrong, hopefully someone can correct me or provide some guidance. I have already tried clearing the cache and using smart switch to reload the os.
Model is G920W8.
Yeah, I'm on the same boat. I would love an expert to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think once you are past a certain revision of Marshmallow there's no turning back and you basically have to stick with your firmware or move on to a newer one.
You can't downgrade 5.0.2 or 5.1.1 anymore.
Damn, I thought so. If anyone else has ever resolved the random reboot I would love to hear about it. It's such a pain.
Hey guys,
I have the SAMSUNG-SM-N915A model number and the stock version Build number LMY47X.N915AUCS2C017 Baseband version on my phone. It works like a charm after spending days trying other stock build version I found online that had so many problems restarting the phone over and over. AT&T is trying to force a software update to 6.0 on my phone which simply wont work as the regular software update bricks my phone for some reason. Is there a setting I'm missing the just tells the phone not to accept any software updates from AT&T? I'm almost positive this update will screw weeks of tinkering and I finally got it working with 5.1.1. I want it to stay this way. Any ideas?
Thanks

Go to settings/security.
You'll find the update settings in there IIRC.
closest thing I see too that is "security policy updates option which is already check off for automatic updates. It seems to be the Device management that's always trying to download the software update and force update. Is this a hidden stock application?

Sorry I took so long getting back.
It's been a while since my 5.1.1 days.
Check in the section that says about device.
You should find your updates on/off listed in there.
You might want to turn off the cloud sync'ing settings as well.
ok so i posted this in an old thread but got no reply so i figured id start a new one...
i might be posting in the wrong spot if so admin plz move to the correct area.

I was able to download quickshortcutmaker and also GAM 6.0.1. Disabled GAM 6.0.1 that was on the phone already and replaced it with the new GAM 6.0.1. I was able to add my own account through the browser. i restarted phone and frp was gone. This method is well known and will only work for 6.0.1. Now the other Galaxy s7 was on 7.0-7.1 and the method for 6.0.1 will not work on this firmware. So i can across this page and well the digging began. After reading multiple post i knew what i had to do and what to look for. I found galaxy s7 eng boot which allows adb to be enabled.
I flashed boot img in odin and then after it booted up i ran the root.bat file that can with the donwload. The root.bat file rebootedf my phone and now i have root with FRP still. So now i looked up FRP commands and found out the correct ones and once i ran the command lines i was able to add my own google account. I can provide you the links to the site i used to find these files only in direct message or private message.
ok think i have a similar situation.
pretext: i have programing experience but more computer automation/ wifi security "testing"/ rooting s3/4's years ago. so im not a total noob but could use someone to stay in arms length in case my floaties come off..
ok so heres my deal. wife found me a phone (s7vl) which i understand is basically verizon firmware and sim unlocked. im on att so it should work.*
heres where the problems start...*
took it to att for a nano sim (currently had a s5 active). ya big shock, frp. ty facebook market. no surprise the gimmicky "ez" bypass methods didnt work, but i figured why not try the ez way first.*
so next real option i found was flashing stock firmware. well it cleared everything but fails. maybe the software i downloaded is ****? i have no clue. finding the right stuff from the right place confuses me. (maybe someone can guide me with that)
at this point frp issue seems to be gone in the sense that only recovery mode is left...thats where im at.*
-- i have no clue what version was being ran before.
so heres my questions.
was i on the right track to get this phone work? frp wise
can/should i run att firmware (930u i think?) ?
any idea why stock firmware wouldn't flash? (i know there can be tons of reasons.)
where can i get reliable firmware? maybe someone has a link (sam mobile for what i think is the updated firmware is going really slow)*
can someone walk me through a bit? the post i quoted seems like a similar situation, pm is cool if you think what you did will work.
----------------
since then i was able to flash verizon 7.0 but the lock remains.
ugh and admin plz change arp in title to frp...one day ill learn to proof read.
