Works fine for me. Even updates of Google Play Store

You have to get the version PRIOR to the new one in order to be able to install it.

When receiving an incoming call, do you get this weird green color instead of the default blue?

Is it so hard to read? I posted the solution one post above yours. It's even in the OP.

Google dialer was already set to default so no need to get mad dude. Strange things is, it happens only on dual sim variant. I tried it on a regular S7 single sim and default blue is showing.
Now when it comes to contact picture, it doesn't show on outgoing or incomming. Any idea why?

This happens because the Google Dialer app, for some reason, seems to set a default colour of green on your SIM1 and blue on your SIM2. If you get a call on SIM1, it will be green. Not sure how to change that though.

When I have switched to Google Dialer and I have missed call I can see on "always on display" missed call notification. However when I open google dialer it doesn't clear this notification and it is still on.
Have anyone found a solution to make this notification disappear when google dialer is opened? eg. with tasker?

I wish someone would make the new Google dialer 4.0.127222140 work on the Galaxy S7 (or any other phone that's not a Nexus or One device)
Anyone know who helps with this?
The new Google dialer has some new features that are really cool - when a known or suspected spam caller calls your phone, the banner is red instead of the standard blue color with the older versions, alerting you that it's a suspected spam caller AND it allows you to block and report the number as a spammer.

Thanks Battlehero. I flashed this on my rooted S7 (Verizon) using Flashfire, it didn't error or anything, it says "installed" after the installation, but after reboot there is no "dialer" app that's not the stock Samsung dialer. Did I miss something?
Ideas?

Probably will have to modify the Google Phone apk to remove the new check that Google has implemented.
Bingo, got it. You will have to uninstall your previous version of the app as this apk is not signed by Google.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67916928&postcount=23
But you won't receive updates from the Google Playstore for the app.

Go to settings > Google > Security and uncheck the options in the 'Verify Apps' category .
Also check the MD5 checksum .
I signed the apk, see if that makes a difference. Both apks install fine on my phone.

2.1 Messaging App Facebook Status on Froyo

Hey all,
I really liked the fact that i could see the facebook status of the person that i was texting at the top of the thread in 2.1. Is there anyway that you could get that same functionality in Froyo?
haha i just noticed its not there! LOL nice catch. Bump to this
i still have it
Would porting the messaging app from 2.1 to 2.2 be the only way we could do this? Would this even be possible? Because i know a lot of people use Handcent but the reason i dont use it is because i like being able to see the persons most recent facebook status at the top of my thread

I hate the new messaging app. So cluttered and messy with pictures for EACH message. Not to mention the gray box for me!

It's a gray box for you because your sim doesn't list your number. If you see your number under Settings -> About -> Status. If it lists your number under My Number you can just add yourself as a contact with a picture and it will show up. Otherwise there are some phones that allow you to add the number. I personally used a simcard-reader/writer for my computer.
Yeah i have seen the messanging app on my freinds phone and i dont really mind the fact that there is a picture for each message, but I would really miss seeing the persons most recent facebook status because I might not necessarily see thier status on my news feed. The lack facebook status on the messanging app is the only reason I havent flashed the froyo test build

Idk maybe some info on a possible backport? The new messanging app is not as clean as the old one in my opinion

I know, but thanks for your help. I had to use an old SE phone to change my SIM number. But seriously this is a really large oversight on Google's part. Like I am suppose to make a contact of myself just so I can have a picture there?? That's ridiculous.
Is also like this. Much prefer the messaging app from cyanogenmod /:

No it's not and I've been making self contacts on my phones for the better part of a decade.
You people ***** about the stupidest things lol.
Well my friend tried yesterday to simply uninstall the 2.2 messanging app and to simply install the 2.1 APK using ASTRO and it failed to install. Im not sure if pushing with ADB will work but just trying to simply delete and install definitely didnt work

paid version does not contain ads , and will get new features before free.
Hi, The app is working great but you should add a fingerprint swipe indicator and also even if I thinks that It's hard but It would be great if you add some feature like re-lock the apps just after the screen is locked so users don't have to swipe there finger every time when switching between apps, and some other feature.
Anyway thanks.
very interesting app...Just wondering:
1) can we choose which (specific) fingerprint to use? (assume we have a few registered)
2) can you make it compatible for Lollipop?
Thanks
Hiding notification content
Does this hide the content of an app in the notification area as well? My whatsapp shows the message contents in the notification area. If I lock my Whatsapp, would the notification message content be hidden?

1=no google do not allow do it , as it will be security risk
2=no , google introduced this API in 6.0 , before that everyone was using their own API.

I think you can Hide Specific App notifications if you long press on the notification and choose not to be notified. This will disable it system wide, so you will have to periodically check for new messages.
I am not sure but you may be able to find a launcher that allows Home Screen Icons message counters, where it displays a number of missed calls, new messages, new emails, etc. Whatsapp seems to be popular enough that I would think it would have support.

Got the paid version. Works really well. I do have a suggestion though. Would it be possible to have an app unlocked till the next time screen is locked atleast as a settings option. Would be more convenient to use that way.

Samsung Dialer?

hi, samsung g935f dialer how to Change miui dialer ?
Install an alternate dialer from Google Play Store that is similar to MIUI one. There's no easy way to replace the embeded dialer as it's tied to other parts of the ROM (call ui, system ui, framework res, and so on)

call screen, does not change ?
Call screen is usually separate from dialer. In some ROMs they are even different apks.
If you install a different dialer, usually just the contacts/dialer is changed, the call screen (incall ui) remains the stock one. In order to have that changed, you need to be rooted and have several other things replaced. Also a different incall ui has to be generated at ROM build time as it is depending on system ui and framework res. You can't just replace files from another ROM.

is there any other dialer mod according to S7 edge ? my telephone is rooted.

Nope, only for missed calls. Try to set all the permissions for the app and set it for default dialer if you haven't done this already.

Force closed after I gave it permissions to "make and manage phone calls"
Works great for me. Thank you.
I had to set it as default and give it add permissions to keep it from force closing.

I was about to install but while I like this dialer design over Samsung's the main reason I was going to switch for the better caller ID. Would love to find an elegant solution to this.

Stock sms app

The app does exist in my phone, it's working, but when I swipe to right from contacts to send sms, it redirect's me to whatsapp. How do I get back to default the stock sms app without reinstalling my custom rom? (Ultra DecentLite v4)
You could go into settings and reset all your defaults to see if that works. A number of apps innervate them selves when they install, which can be a PITA.

Ah I see, sounds like a bug in that custom ROM then, tell the dev see if there's a fix
Or uninstall messenger and see if it sets as default the stock messaging app

If I uninstall Messenger there will be blank.
It's strange because I'm using this rom (Decent Ultra Lite v4) from a while and I think this problem appeared since I've started to use Xposed modules.

A logcat will do the job (atleast 50%) ?
It might help the dev, not me
