Hey, I've just found out I can connect lots of USB devices with my new unrooted S7, and after trying to plug in the wireless hub for X360 controllers, it just won't connect to my controller. Can I do anything to make this work or do I need to root the phone first?
Thanks
My 360 controller isn't working either, it works on every other android device I have, including old phones. Is this the work of samsung ?

Mine works perfectly when I connect my controller via OTG USB.. Are you talking about the attachment that came with the phone (that is intended to transfer stuff from your old phone to the new phone?)
I pretty much plugged mine in using that, all I had to do was to configure the buttons in my game I wanted to play. HOWEVER, my 360 controller is wired. Maybe you could try getting a wired one rather than a wireless one.
BTW root is not possible for all US variants (bootloader is locked). Only the Exynos model is rootable.
Mine is the UK variety whichever chip that is. I'm using an otg adaptor that works fine on my other devices but not the s7.

[[[[[[FIXED!!!]]]]two things but i really recommend the second option i will explain.. FIRST THING IS FIRST MAKE SURE UR PHONES USB DEBUGGING IS ON... EASY TO TURN IT ON.. GO TO SETTING , TAP ON ABOUT PHONE, TAP ON SOFTWARE INFORMATION TAP ON BUILD INTILL U SEE THE MESSAGE U ARE SO MANY TAPS AWAY FROM BECOMING A DEVELOPER. KEP TAPPING AND WELLA U R NOW A DEVELOPER .. BACK TO SETTINGS SCROLL ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM SELECT DEVELOPER OPTIONS TURN ON THEN SCROLL DOWN TILL U SEE TURN ON USB DEBUGGING. PS U SHOULD HAVE THIS ON ANY WAY CAUSE IF U LOSE UR PHONE U WONT BE ABLE TO USE FIND DEVICE TO LOCATE UR PHONE.. ALSO WELL U R IN THE DEVELOPER OPTIONS GO AHEAD AND TURN OF WINDOW ANIMATION TRANSITION ANIMATION AND ANIMATOR DURATION SCALE YA DONT NEED THEM AND WATCH HOW MUCH FASTER UR PHONE WILL BE .. OK NOW WHAT YA ALL COME FOR (1) u can download usb/bt joycentre 2018 its green pic of joystick and following this video on how to use it..
.. now im jus saying but i have a generic x-box game pad controller i purchesed from walmart its corded no bluetooth option and tried this with the s7 edge and no luck the app said usb not reconized. u might have luck with a real xbox controller tho cause they support bluetooth and there is an option in the app to do the patch via blue tooth. U DO NOT NEED A ROOTED PHONE FOR THIS.. NO ROOT!! i dont have a ps3 controller to see if it works but the guy in the video that is what he uses and it worked .. now heres the funny thing .. what i got to work was a knock of ps3 controller off amzone.. i use an otg cable plugged it in to the controller plugged the other end into my phone and works like a charm as soon as i plugged it in.. now if it doesnt work give it a second or hold the ps3 home button down for a sec .. i swear this works. https://www.amazon.ca/Controller-Wi...2A9WRGN9BAB&psc=1&refRID=T73ZTYBBQ2A9WRGN9BAB.. now heres the funny part and was so freaking frustrating my walmart wired xbox game pad works on my new samsung tablet a7 but the ps3 controller wont.. the ps3 controller works on my s7 edge but the xbox controller wont. i was about to do bAck flips lol when i decided to just try a ps3 knock off controller and batta bing batta boom COD HERE I COME LMAO.. HOPE THIS HELPS MANG
ok so the wireless version of the xbox 360 controller connected with a cable to the controller then to the phone via the otg cable will not work, as it is not supported wireless, or a wireless controller with a cable attached to it.
only wired xbox 360 controllers will work.

Ok , so as some of you may have seen I couldn't get 6 axis working. I've made progress. I was reading some instructions wrong. So I am going to do a step by step for everyone so if you're as dumb as I am you don't have to spend hours beating your head against a wall before you see what was meant to be seen in instructions.
1) Download 6 axis compatibility app and check your device's ability to use 6 axis system.
2) Assuming you've passed you need to download the 6 axis pairing tool here ---> http://www.dancingpixelstudios.com/sixaxiscontroller/tool.html
3) Install. If you get a error stating " Issue must be resolved before continuing installation : A newer version of Microsoft visual c++ runtime is installed on this machine " See 3a)
3a) Delete the 2 most current libraries. On my machine they were microsoft visual c++ runtime version 10.0 (x86) *AND* (x64). If you only delete 1 or the other you will get the same error. And ONLY delete the 2 at a time. When you've deleted enough of these sets ( in my case it was ONLY the x86 and x64 version 10.0 ) When you hit close on the error window all you have to do is restart the pair tool .exe again and it will either complete the install or give you the same error but as I said ATLEAST for me i just deleted the 10,0 and the install completed
4) Ok , Once you have 6 axis installed restart computer goto computer\program files (x86)\ six axis pair tool then open the app
5) One you have the pair tool opened connect your PS3 controller to the computer via usb . the computer will install drivers for the device both from windows AND the 6 axis tool. Once the drivers install you'll see a little window that has Current Master < WRITE THIS DOWN !!!! YOU WILL BE CHANGING THE MASTER BT ADDRESS OF YOUR CONTROLLER AND WILL NEED THIS TO USE IT ON YOUR PS3 AGAIN > Once you save your master BT address < I used notepad> Then enter the BT addy either the 6 axis compatibility APP OR the 6 axis controller app < they should be the same> into the blank Master BT field under the current master field then hit ok or update < whatever>
6) You are now done. Unplug the controller and open the 6 axis controller app and hit start. then you will be prompted to change the input method from whatever keyboard you use to 6 axis. Do that then hit ok . From here all you have to do is hit pair on the controller app.
In the terminal below the last entry on mine was " no controller found " but If you look just above that and see Client connected : 1 then you are paired.
7) Exit out of the controller app . Now just to confirm I used the right joystick in my app drawer to navigate the app drawer if that works you are now successfully paired . You can now open any emulator or game you have on your device and play. I tested and confirmed this working on a Sgnes Super nintendo emulator playing old school mario cart . All I had to do was in the settings switch to 6 axis controller instead of touch screen and map out the ps controller and i was good.
8) optional but imho COMPLETES THE EPIC 6 AXIS EXPERIENCE . Go get a dynex or other *MINI PHONE 3.5MM* 4 pole to a/v rca out to connect to a tv and boom your Doubleshot or other compatible device just became a portable game system.
Notes: Blue tooth , running the 6 axis will drain your battery. I advise you connect your device to a charger while operating. But that is completely up to you!! Enjoy !!
If you get stuck anywhere , If I can help I'd be more than happy to just shoot me an e-mail!!

Ok forget the backup issue solved that. Now im trying to pair my ps3 controller to the phone . I ran compatibility checker and it said the device is supported . as in the title im using CM9 .
Now I got this usb extention cord for my printer , and it comes with a cable that is kind of a universal connector? it has a male end that splices into a female USB full size end AND also the mini usb that fits into the ps3 controller. Making it a Y cable that looks like this.
Unused side being the male end and then my phone on the female usb side and ps3 controller on the mini usb side making both connections on one side of the cable
Male end full size USB unused ------> [}----------< <-------- End with the female full size USB for phone on one side and mini usb for ps3 on the other
My question is do you guys think that should work? plugging my phone usb < male > into the female usb on that cable then plugging the mini USB into the ps3 leaving the male end on the universal cable unused.
I know thats kinda hard to follow but do you think that should work ? or do I need specifically a female / female USB adapter and just plug the ps3 cable and the double shot cabble into each end?
Im sorry if this is confusing . Also I made sure the phones bluetooth address was entered into the 6 axis app bluetooth address field and again the compatibility checker said it was compatible.
Thanks for the help!!!!

Another option is to buy the Wii PRO classic remote, as it has almost all the same buttons in a very similar layout as a playstation controller (only missing R3/L3). I've been playing N64 with mine on CyanogenMod9.

Bump for working 6 axis see op
ok so i just got mk808 android stick.
came home plugged it into my tv via hdmi - mini hdmi adaptor
plugged in the usb power to a 5v - 2amp charger from my nexus 7
the screen on my tv switched over to hdmi 1 blue screen,.......and thats all
i dont have a clue what ido to start it up or anything?
i got a mele air mouse 10 thrown in the deal too which is working on my tab but yeah how do i start up this thing? the blue light comes on and the tv switched to hdmi but thats all.
The MK808 has a blue light that has to be on when powered and blinking when streaming from the net. It shoud boot up by itself after you plug it in.
Check to see that your TV is set to the right HDMI input.
I have mine on HDMI 1. Make sure that yours matches your MK808 HDMI input.
Other than that, try another TV.....

thanks for your reply i managed to get it working today with a new usb cable now happily using but trying to find a way to switch it of from remote,. "air mouse f10"
If yours is rooted, install "Rom Toolbox" that it have a widget called "Reboot".
Clicking that will give you all the settings ....
To reboot: instead of the full ROM Toolbox, which BTW is a great app, try Reboot Menu (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wxLDIxMiwib3JnLnJpY2VrbmlnaHQuZ3MycmVib290Il0). That's all it does, it gives you reboot options (you must be rooted).
got the power menu app cheers
anyone had any experience getting another tablet to work as touchpad?
Try MK 802 lll remote app. Works on a lot of these.

You don't want to just just "pull the plug" (or flip the switch) on the unit, it could cause filesystem corruption....

I received my OTG cable in the mail today and wanted to start gaming the right way with my Logitech F310 gamepad but my phone didn't recognize it at all. I tested the controller with Dead Trigger but I got no response. The green "Mode" button comes on when pressed but that's it. I thought that my gamepad would work just fine with my OTG cable because my computer recognizes it as an Xbox 360 controller. Has anybody gotten one of these to work with their S4? Thanks in advance!

Firstly, not all games support gamepads, secondly if you have the 360 controller, i hear theyre better supported c:
and lastly, you can try getting an app that manages the controller and interfaces it with the app, maps it to the touch controls of its not supported for example, theres a few out there, havent tried any myself because i only have a ps3 controller and couldnt get it working with sixaxis :c

For anyone wondering, I was able to find a solution! I bought the USB/BT JoyCenter app and it recognized my F310 in XInput mode (the switch on the bottom). Using the app, I was able to map the buttons.
On a side note, my aftermarket Power A Playstation 3 controller works automatically with some games without any extra software.

Hey,
My experience has been very flakey with the f310 but I can confirm that it does work. In some games such as asphalt 8 you don't need the joycenter app. Just mess around with it.

i second this question
i want to use the controller for apps like fpse and stuff.
already tried USB BT Joycenter but that wasnt working, the controller was connecting and showing as First player but there was no input and i cant get any updated version of the app cause i cant find it on the appstore.
the other thing i tried was editing the controller layout files, but they werent even on the tablet.
is there anything else i can do to get this to work?
I tried to connect my xbox 360 wireless controller via dongle aswell. it kinda connects but i am not really sure. the moment i let the dongle and the controller search for each other they seem to find each other straight away, but the led ring just keeps blinking and wont find a channel so to speak.
i followed sleeplessninjas guide and copied over the vendor_45e_product_0291/0719.kl and kcm but it didnt change the controller problem.
the controller is not recognized by any app i tried nor does the system itself show any response to the controller input.
i can connect a mouse or a usb flashdrive without a problem plug n play out of the box. but the controller wont get recognized.
i read on a shop review that the problem would be that the lenovo tab2 a10 doesnt have driver for the controller shipped with it.
my question would be: would cooking up my own android rom help and would i even be able to make it work on the device, i keep reading about lenovo devices being *****y about bootloader and such.
and then again cooking up ones own android is kinda of a longshot for an android beginner like me. need to read more. propably doable but are there even drivers available for the device fitting the system?
would appreciate someone shedding a bit of light in all the confusion cheers
Is there any way to make the 360 controller work on the S6? It's not a wireless controller.
I'll even root. Is there any way to make the 360 wired controller work? (tried it with my otg but it dosen't work. Strange thing that it worked on any other phone in my house..)
Anyone?
It should work out of the box. Are you on stock f/w?

Yep. It's not working..
strange. my ps2 controler with ps2 to usb and than over the otg cable works fine.
it could be that the s6 doesn't deliver enough power for the xbox controller.

Nope,it delivers the power but the controller wont find the phone. I don't know why. Everyone on the internet has the same problem..
Solved on s6 active!
After about a week of trying, I have wireless 360 controllers working on my s6 active. I'm using a Microsoft 360 controller receiver and an otg cable. I had to find a legit USB BT Joy Center apk (not the gold version, it kept disconnecting my controller) and then I found an app called Lucky patcher that let me remove the license verification on the app, since it has been abandoned by the developer. No root required! It allows you to keymap, so I can use multiple 360 controllers for emulators (Mario kart tested), and I even used it to play games streaming from my computer with Moonlight. I have the fixed apk file upon request, or you can diy with the instructions above.
Out of the box galaxy s6 doesn't work with with x360 controller. It doesn't event work with regular usb controller that other phones work. You have to remap buttons but it's pointless because phone doesn't recognize analog triggers and joysticks.

USB Joycenter has a feature that works with the MegaN64 and Mupen64 Emulators that allows for analog input. I'm uploading a video tutorial right now, it'll be up in an hour or so. https://youtu.be/I9fvLZMd9bE
