[GUIDE] HTC One M8 for Windows (TMOUS-0P6B140) how to manually update to wp8.1.2 - HTC One M8 for Windows

the verizon and the at&t version of the phone got updated to wp8.1.2 officially.
while the tmous version is still sitting on 8.1.1 (build 14219).
i figured out a way to get it to latest wp8.1.2 build (15148) the manual way (iutool cab sending).
how to use iutool -> see there
i had to spoof 2 different other devices to obtain those cabs. so it took some time/work.
01 htc w8 tmous 0P6B140 14203-14219.txt (diff updates, also available officially via OTA update)
02 htc w8 tmous 0P6B140 14219-14226.txt (diff updates, preparation to move on to wp8.1.2)
03 htc w8 tmous 0P6B140 14226-15127-15145-15148.txt (diff updates, wp8.1.2)
if your phone is already updated officially via OTA from 14203 (latest wdrt rom os version) to 14219, you can skip step one.
then send the 14219-14226 cabs, let it reboot and install automatically (gears) and let it migrate your data as usual.
then send the 14226-15127-15145-15148 cabs all in one step. let it reboot and install automatically (gears) and let it migrate your data as usual.
now you should be on the latest wp8.1.2 build.
some might prefer this over w10m until htc fixed their apps for w10m (camera crashing when applying effects for example).
hopefully htc will fix them and release a official w10m rom for this beautiful device.
enjoy and leave me a thanks.

[Q] Offical updates after installing Mango RTM

Hi
I just installed Mango 7712 on my Omnia 7 following this tutorial. If I upgrade it to 7720 using the described method will I be able to later install offical updates?
you have to revert to NoDo from your Backup to get the official Mango
So when Mango is officially out I just revert NoDo from backup, install latest version of Zune and I'll receive Mango updates?
What would happen if I would have a backup (I have it, but just want to know if there is any other way to revert)?
Is there any more or less offical release date?
if you lost your bock up you would need to go back to AT&T (or whichever carrier) to flash back to an official ROM to get the official updates I believe
u can flash a new rom alone, i debranded my mozart that way from german t-mobile
More then likely you will be able to find a stock rom for your phone in this forum. I needed one and found it here for my phone. When you find it, you can flash it yourself.

(This is the official post-Mango OEM update cab for unbranded HTC Trophy)
Update failed with 80004005. Any chance of getting the Asia WWE? TIA
Didn't work for me either on UK Trophy. Fresh from HTC and updated to Mango.
Any idea what the update does? Anything important?
If you've updated the HTC Update for Windows Phone, this file is not needed because it's part of that update.

This file is indeed needed, e.g. when you want to do a manual update instead of a zune update (which will remove chevron/interop unlock).
Thanks for the clarification bleh. Many of us aren't doing Chevron so it's not important.
OK. SO I've did a backup, Restore back to NoDo, upgraded to Mango through Zune. No updated firmware. WTH?!
Restored Backup & updated using this file & FINALLY it updates properly!
Not sure if it's due to my upgrading to 16GB microSD or my MobileOperator is set to 000-88 but now Connected Media + Compass both works properly!
Hey bleh, do U hv e URL for 2250.21.51007.x?

Will I still get an HTC Update???

I flashed my 7 Pro to the Mango update found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254384
Everything is working great but I'm not sure if when/if HTC release an update to enable tethering if I will recieve the update since I did not wait for the official update through Zune.
My phone was bought sim-free if that makes a difference?
yes, thats the full official mango rom from HTC with all the latest firmware already baked in, most ppl didnt use this because it formats your phone so does nto preserve their setting and aps builtup over time.
You wont get any update on Zune untill a new update is availale after Mango or post firmware updates. You basicly have what everyone wants so go forth and be happy

[Q] HTC Desire S OTA Update

I have a HTC Desire S (branded by Virgin Mobile) and I like to play with (break) the software so I can debrand and run custom ROM's. The only reason I do this is that I hate waiting on the mobile networks to test new builds with all their bloatware before rolling them out to us lowly customers. Next time I'm only buying an unbranded device!!!
I did this successfully with my old HTC Desire which my wife now uses. So bare with me and I'll give you the background to my HTC Desire S woes.
I used the Revolutionary hack to replace the HBOOT (6.98.1002) and make the phone S-OFF. I also replaced the recovery partition with Clockworkmod recovery. So all was good. However, I did this in 2 stages, I replaced the HBOOT a few months back and only got round to finishing by replacing the recovery partition this week.
My next step was to start thinking about flashing some ROM's. Okay so the very day (10 Jan 2012) I finally replaced the recovery partition with Clockworkmod I received an OTA Update. Brilliant I thought, that'll save me installing a custom ROM! So I tried to install the OTA Update, fail!
My first thought was, now that Virgin have released Android 2.3 and Sense 3.0 for the HTC Desire S. I'll just put my phone back to how it was and run the update. My contract is up soon and I'll be getting a new phone so I'll make this as standard as possible before handing it down to my wife.
Great, so I replaced the HBOOT back to a stock image (0.98.0000) and ran the RUU for the branded Virgin Mobile (RUU_Saga_Virgin_Mobile_1.31.351.1_Radio_20.28b.30 .0805U_38.03.02.15_M_release_178933_signed.exe). That replaced the Clockworkmod recovery partition with the stock recovery and reset my phone back to how it was.
I now have my phone back to what it was when I bought it (roughly as I think it was 1.47 before I flashed the branded ROM again). The only problem now is that I am no longer being offered the OTA Update (I've tried Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check Now).
I did save the OTA update file (OTA_Saga_S_Virgin_Mobile_2.13.351.6-1.47.351.2_release_231143vunyigsoxclccanj.zip) before I wiped my phone again. Can I/Should I run it manually?
Is anyone else running build 1.31 on a HTC Desire S? If not what version are you running? I'm wondering if by flashing the 1.31 version (as it was the only one I could find) I'll no longer get the 2.13 OTA Update.

Manually install Windows Phone 8.1 on HTC 8X?

I have an HTC 8X (AT&T) still running Windows Phone 8.0 (8.0.10501.127) as it seems AT&T never pushed out 8.1/8.1.1 for it. How do I manually install 8.1 (or is it 8.1.1 ?) on this 8X?
I faced the same issue today
Bought 8X for collection and was unable to check OTA updates (looks that all servers all down). I recommend to try Windows Device Recovery Tool, it may suggest to install latest firmware.
Also, you can try to install firmware manually but it requires to have y-cable, device unbranding and creating goldcard. This is complicated process overall and may brick your device (since this device is not supported and ROM urls on old threads may be broken, I do not recommend you to do that)
Hi,
OTC will work when you look at this:
OTC Updater can't reach Microsoft Update Servers
I tried to flash a possible Update, but got this error - anybody knows what's going on here? OTC Updater download OtcUpdater 8.2.1.0 Waiting for next device. Please connect a device via USB. Press q to quit. Lumia 650(RM-1152_15637)...
