LTE Frequencies + US phone in Europe - General Questions and Answers

Deleted

You mean, only bands 3 and 20. In Germany there are many combinations of bands used by different network providers. A quick search in wikipedia gave me the following results:
O2 support bands 3, 7 and 20
Telekom 3, 7 and 20
Vodafone 7 and 20
(see https : //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Europe without spaces since I'm still a new user)
So yeah, hope this helped

Oh, by the way, there is also this website http : //willmyphonework.net/ that shows a big list of all the lte bandsa vailable for each country. Iphone SE is still not listed but if you know a similar model you could also use that one.

Will the Chinese version work in the uk?

Hi guys sorry to post this if this is a repost but I want to clear something up, will the Chinese version work in the UK on EE's 4G network. I'm really not technical when it comes to bands and frequency's :/
Many thanks !
Jack

The Chinese version of the One is prepared to work on China Mobile, which uses TD-SCDMA/TD-LTE technology that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. Additionally, the Chinese version lacks WCDMA band 4 and LTE bands 4 and 17. So depending on your carrier, connectivity will be limited.
Info from oneplus one forum. I can not confirm.

The D820 is the US version, You should've bought the D821 international version, But you might be able to unlock the bands you need by reading this thread below.

I noticed that too, although only LTE bands differ from the D820 and D821 models and he is running into issues with the non-LTE signals.
Try entering *#*#4636#*#* into the phone app, going to Phone information, then make sure the preferred network type is on the correct setting. I think it should be set to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) although I would recommend playing around with them to see what can connect to 3G.
Good luck!

I would also try to reset your network settings under the Backup and Reset section under settings.
Normally I would edit my first post but I am trying to get to 10 posts so I can share a video that I made with the community!

Not sure if international unlock is different but ##72786# in dialer will reset data provisioning to factory without needing msl and only resetting data configuration without resetting phone or user files. The 3282 one will allow u to view data settings without msl but msl needed to change anything, some custom roms/kernels have this bypassed allowing data settings accessible without msl. Id try scrtn first (72786)

Or signal guard app may be worth trying if rooted as it will have an option for radio locking where you can change preferred network type. The app also can be used unrooted just not sure what that is like as I havent tried unrooted.
Is there any option to learn msl in my phone ?

You'll have to contact sprint, if you call care they will sometimes give it to you, or if you know someone at a store they might be able to look it up for you
If you want to root or are rooted there are other options as well, but without the trouble of that it should be easier to get it from sprint. They do have terms for it which can be found somewhere on their site, I'd google sprint unlock policy. You will most likely come across workarounds as well from the same search results.
---------- Post added at 07:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:48 PM ----------
If u r rooted or would rather not gamble your luck with the various different service reps (all working for the same company) http://idoneapps.com would be, in my opinion, the most simple and surebet option available to obtaining the msl, among several other options that I believe would be a tremendous help to you. There may be other methods out there, however, just from my experience with the same model phone and whether marshmallow or lollipop it has without a doubt worked successfully.

And apologies if the link is not within the rules as for being free or whatever, I just wasnt sure how to go about it as it had once been posted on a forum on here being shared for free and was requested by idoneapps to be removed so in respect to that I only felt comfortable pointing in the honest direction, what you decide from there is entirely up to you.
My friends, i have got msl code now and i checked setting.
I have seen that i havent lte 3 7 20 bans , so i cant see lte signal in my note 5.
How can i add this lte bands for my note 5?
Is it possible?
Sent from my SM-N920P using XDA-Developers mobile app
The bands supported by the n920p are bands 2, 4, 5, 12, 25, 26, 41
Dear my friend.
I can see band3 setting but it says not supported.
I think, can it solve with new kernel or porting new firmware
Sent from my SM-N920P using XDA-Developers mobile app

LG G Style H634 unlocked, T-Mobile blocked the phone to use it's data?

Hello, I have my H634 (from Cricket) unlocked.
and recently switched to T-Mobile.
I know the phone might not 100% support T-Mobile network but want to give a try.
so I have put the T-Mobile Sim and I manually punch in the APN information.
Then I tried to access internet and it goes to T-Mobile website says my data plan not support this device.
Sounds like since no T-Mobile connect and it goes to it's partner connection but they refused to let you use it (since tmobile have to pay).
any idea I can force to enable to network connection in this case?
Did you call T-Mobile?
I thought Cricket,Verizon,Sprint,Boost was a cdma company not gsm like Tmobile,Metro,AT&T.

Where to Get The HK/CN SM-N9860 (SD Ultra 5G DualSIM Unlocked)?

Hi All,
After some research, I found out that the Note 20 Ultra 5G SM-N9860 HK (TGY) or CN (CHC) probably the best variant there is.
It's a Snapdragon 865+ 12GB RAM 256/512GB storage.
Carrier and Bootloader unlocked.
4G&5G supports most of the bands worldwide.
The CN (CHC) have build in Call recording (to be confirmed but no Samsung Pass AFAIK).
The only thing is to find a trusted online store to purchase it from (sending worldwide).
Any suggestions?

Thanks for this, very useful!
If you live in Europe, try wondamobile.com - they are reliable and Ive read many good things about them on the web, reddit, etc. They also take care of import tax and mostly sell HK version.
I am also leaning towards HK to be on safe side and waiting for Wonda to have them in stock.

A: Shipping is free to the United Kingdom and USA, and is only £20 more to most worldwide countries. Shipping to all countries is fully tracked.

I had a word with their customer service and they said they are waiting for Samsung HK to get the shipping dates and that they will most likely start taking orders from mid of August. So we just need to check every day

No info yet for Note 20, but it will be available once Wonda will have the phone for sale.
However, it should be pretty similar to S20 Ultra that has the following specs:
TECHNOLOGY GSM / CDMA / HSPA / EVDO / LTE / 5G
2G BANDS GSM: GSM850,GSM900,DCS1800,PCS1900
3G BANDS WCDMA: B1(2100),B2(1900), B5(850),B8(900)
4G BANDS 4G FDD-LTE: B1(2100),B2(1900),B3(1800),B4(AWS),B5(850),B7(2600),B8(900),B12(700),B13(700), B18(800),B19(800),B20(800),B25(1900),B26(850),B28(700) 4G TDD-LTE: B34(2010),B38(2600),B39(1900),B40(2300),B41(2500)
5G BANDS 5G Sub-6 FDD: N1(2100) / 5G Sub-6 TDD: N78(3500),N79(4500)
So you should check with your mobile provider to see what bands they use and compare against these ones.

You will need to contact your mobile operator and ask them to provide their frequencies and compare them against the ones in the phone to make sure it will work.
I live in the UK so dont know much about US frequencies.

As far as I am aware only Hong Kong versions have unlocked bootloader for Snapdragon. The US one doesn't.
Exynos, on the other hand, has fully unlocked bootloader so can be rooted.
On the other hand, do you really need rooting the phone? As far as I am aware there is currently no option to root without destroying Knox, but I might be wrong.
Here are the GSM specs from Wonda for Hong Kong version:
2G BANDS GSM: GSM850,GSM900,DCS1800,PCS1900

Almost the same price of the Korean version I was buying, expect with WonderMobile import fees are included, which is a plus. Both HK and Korean seem to support the same bands that I use here. It'll take a little longer to ship to me out in Japan, yet I am excited as well.
What would be the reason VoLte wouldn't work? Requires a specific LTE band in the country?
