I'm developing a ROM , need your suggestions

Hey everybody ,
I'm a 15 years old developer in Java & PHP .. I'm currently developing applications for Android .. I decided to develop an Android ROM .. At first , I'll develop a ROM for i9003 Galaxy SL then for S I i9000 & S II ..
I started yesterday , I talked to my Co-Worker who is really an Android Geek , he suggested me to develop a Launcher ( But I don't think I've to do ) ... I thought too much , other friends told me to create a ROM with my applications (Re-Building some applications of the Android phone) .. but I'm really excited & I want to develop a great ROM , anyway .. I'm waiting for your lovely suggestions & I'll do my best to release a Cool ROM ..

I think you should make a unique rom not like miui or cm7
Also everyone wants smooth and fast rom
Should have bln mod
Oh and a nice theme,almost all the rom for i9003 have ics theme
For the time being thats it
Will let you kno of i remember something else

Great, I'm waiting for you .. anyway , Thank you for your suggestions ..

I think nowadays everybody is very excited with MIUI and CM7... I think that if you did a good theme for one of this two I'm sure you would success. You have to think what people wants, and give then a different way, something to impress people.. thats my advice, hope it helps

Something Same as MIUI, but with different features (or atlease different launcher layout) will be good
Or you can try helping in making Skydroid UI. Here is the link, or can try making the same on your own.

Ya...thats a good idea. Darky's ROM is one of the famous & best rom ever.

Hi, im not a Dev but deadly rom flasher. .. i have seen many devs porting roms from different devices as i saw galaxy Y running on GB, searched in forums that any dev has tried to port it for our sweet S3 but could nt find any. ... requesting devs to port 1 thankyou..

Thanks for replying, I have been using Htc hero since long time and have seen lots of developers porting different Htc mobile rom example Htc Explorer, Htc Salsa Rom for Hero and have been able to port Sense 3.0 for hero .... As m not a dev and I dnt knw programing ( m a navigator) so I don't knw anything but has any one has tried it?

never try to install other phones firnwares
every phone has a specific hardware and software.
never try to install other phones fiwares, it may cause your device dead or sth. if you are a programmer edit your own firmware.
if you want gingerbread rom go through cianogenmod7 or kyrillos10.
those two roms are in alpha stage but stable.

I said it is impossible because it is VERY difficult, not really impossible.
However ther will not be any significant improvement to our GB stage:
1) When you port a rom you will need at least to replace original drivers with your device ones => If the driver for GB is still not ready that particular feature will not work even if it used to in the original rom (ie: b/w preview in camera in CM7)
2) Performances will be surely lower compairing to a rom that was compiled from source
At last i suggest not to ask developers to start porting a rom because they are pretty busy with lots of projects right now.

I am a galaxy ace plus gt-s7500 user
i got this phone almost 3 months back and till now am waiting for an ics rom
So if there is any dev who can port an ics rom for this device then i think a lot of ace plus users will be really happy

I have been using GO Launcher EX along with its ICS theme.
It totally gives Ace Plus the ICS look without having to use any custom ROM.

Using go launcher and getting ics is in no way comparable to getting a real ics rom
I hope u do understand what i mean and encourage real developers to port ics roms for our devices
Definitely am waiting for a cm 7.2 or cm 10 port for the samsung galaxy ace plus GT-S7500

I doubt it'll be possible...i had the phone till yesterday...the closest rom to ics was the rom by team cooper which gave it the look,i tried porting ics roms but it just didnt happen...i got really pissed off with the phone and sold it yesterday...if u want u can still use the Alicritious rom by team cooper which kinda has an ics theme,i've changed the settings.apk file and added alotta worthy transitions for the phone...if ur interested in getting ics look use that rom,also pm me if ur looking for a better looking settings.apk i have a modified version which i was supposed to release in the next build but now since i dont have the phone there might not be a next version..

Indeed, Jelly Beam is above us so prepare your phones. Maybe now the Ace Plus will get its own thread and the ICS ROMs will blossom.
Keep in mind that the official update will (in most cases) unroot your phone.

iphone 4 mt6575 need help porting cyanogen mod

hello guys, I got this iphone 4s clone mt6575. since then, ive always wanted to get a new rom for this phone. i've worked on porting some CyanogenMod 7 on this device but it doesnt boot. please help me im just a newbie and im sorry for my bad english:crying:

you cannot get cyanogenmod running on your particular device at this time. a cyanogenmod based on this chipset is in work, but is barely working yet. (just SystemUI starts, everything will FC).

They are gonna need it as without the full and proper kernel source code for each and every device that runs that chip it will never work completely. This is the reason CM doesnt support cheap knock offs.

I had CM10 on my Jiayu G3 with the 6577. I'm sure it could be done someday. It actually ran quite smoothly. It just had a few bugs with some apps and had a battery drain but was otherwise rock solid.

think its possible for this chipset (MT6575) coz i found some posts proving that they have sucesfully ported CM7 and i actually tried to port using thier ROM with no luck at all. why my system apps starting with "BR" like BRMms.apk?

Sorry buddy, it cannot be installed in your phone if installed, will result in no booting or misbehaving of your phone. A9 and Intex Aqua Wonder are the same phones with different names whereas Aqua Flash is a different phone. However, this ROM can be ported to your phone if it is a dual core phone :laugh:

salam brother i liked your work and like your word tough even more lol brother try yo-nip iced 4.2 rom its awesome rom only minor issue Bluetooth don't work properly but rest is very fast and very customized and customizable rom you should try this if you are a really android lover like me i am using same phone A9 and karbon A1+ duple 3 more mtk devices for experimenting stuff so try this link http://myphoneph.com/roms/yonip-iced-h2o-roms-for-a888/ and if you mange to fix bluetooth will be great coz i have tried sub kuch lekin Bluetooth nai chali anyways let see what you can do

Thanks for your comments brother. This problem has already been solved by the french androiders. However, other problems like auto-focus during video capture as well as freezing problem still persist. Please, check out these two links from Frandroid.com...

In my opinion JB 4.1.1 and JB 4.1.2 are best for our phones. Check them out too....

Ok. I will give it a try and see what it can deliver. 4.4 cannot be ported to A9 because the source code of these chipsets is unknown and has not been shared by the MTK manufacturers. Only quadcore and octacore of MTK can be used for 4.4. Without source code, the drivers for its hardware cannot be programmed.

There are a few versions mentioned. Which one you installed?

but i think mtk have released its hardware source codes i have seen someone mentioned on a forum that we can get these codes from git-hub i have,nt tried it actually....anyways lets keep in-touch maybe we can come across on something take care brother

salam brother can you tell me how you are porting roms?i mean which tools you are using coz i have mtk porting tools (but dont work properly)trying cygwin and xda kitchen but option are very limited so i just need to know how you are doing it?are you doing it on windows or Ubuntu?

MTK has released the source codes of Quadcore and Octacore only, No Dualcore at all.
I use the porting tricks available on xda and other forums. I also have cygwin and kitchen but I could not port any ROM with these. Copy and Paste procedure is enough good if you have got the right base and port. However, for advance porting like playing with kernel and framework files, one needs development skills of linux and android which I don't possess.
