LG G Flex2 H950 on T-Mobile - LG G Flex 2

So since the update to android 5.1.1. is OTA, can an unlocked LG G Flex2 H950 be updated to 5.1.1 even if it is used on T-Mobile? Thanks.

You need to use the search function of this forum DaLow, its all there. The short answer is yes, but you will need an AT&T sim card installed and a call to AT&T to push the updates.

Im a little confused about H950 5.1.1 update

So if u don't use ATT sim card, u will not get the update?
Why the update is not from google?
so we can't download the update into our phone and install it? Like win7 update to win10?
My new phone is on the way, I'm thinking how to update it.
So may I ask is that the first thing I should do is NOT rooting the phone?
Thank you guys

1. The OTA is stored on ATT's server, which can only be accessed by using their network, or MVNO's.
2. Google doesn't develop the LG UX nor do they have anything to do with the Flex 2.
3.You cannot download the update to a PC because ATT never uploaded the .tot used for the LG flash tool.
4. Is you root the OTA cannot be installed.

PR is for the Puerto Rican variant of the H950. The firmware is free of ATT bloat, but you'll need to stay with PR firmware. People are bricking this phone by flashing back to ATT's.
ATT's 5.1.1 exists as 11x & 11z. They have carrier bloat + carrier IQ installed.

Sure, but I use the ATT firmware. There doesn't seem to be any safe methods to switch between 5.1.1 ATT to PR or vice versa yet.

LG G4 H810 ATT or PR?

I recently bought a H810 , Its was a cheap deal. The phone had PR ROM in it. I read somewhere the PR rom is fast but has issues.
So I read somewhere the Pr and ATT roms (10o) can be switched and I did that. The ATT rom was working to and gave me update notification for MM. But as I didnt have ATT sim so I pushed it via ADB that shown me failed every time. I reverted to PR rom again to see if PR has any updates.
Anyone can help me to find if the device is ATT or PR or none. ? !! ??
Check the back of the model. If it's PR, then It should be LG-H810PR, note that if it's PR, it's an international version and if you ever need warranty/repair/etc (hope not) then you'l need to look up a local distributor or wherever you bought your phone

Android 11 Update for unlocked variants?

I saw that some variants (T-Mobile, Verizon) of the A71 5G have received the Android 11 update, so I was wondering if anyone has any clues on when the unlocked variant (specifically the SM-A716u1) will receive the update?

Update notice: www.xda-developers.com/samsung-android-11-galaxy-a51-5g-galaxy-a71-5g-galaxy-m30s/
Unlocked variant update logs: https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-A716U1/XAA/doc.html
Thanks!
I would love to know this as well. Hoping it is coming soon!

Thanks for the guide. Unfortunately I've found out that this phone doesn't support Band 71 (I was going to use it on Mint which uses the T-Mobile network, so it's a no go for me).

So, I have the Edge S version from China. I bought it shortly after it came out. I'm in the North East of the US and use Mint Mobile and I don't seem to have any problems. Yes, band 71 helps sometimes in more rural areas, but in my testing (at least for my area) on my previous phone I rarely connected to band 71. Granted, it all depends on what kind of area you live in, but that's been my experience.

Yes it does and T-Mobile is the only cell phone carrier in the United States that the Moto g100 with the North American retail firmware version will work. The only way to get this phone is to buy it directly from Motorola USA and yes the bootloader is able to be unlocked the phone will work on the AT&t network but you will not get 5G

I wasn't going to buy from Motorola. There was a sale and I was trying to find out more info, but that sale is long over now. So I don't plan to get this phone. Thanks.
